Jack exaggeratedly widened his eyes, covered his mouth with one hand, and pointed at the crystal bottle in Sophie's hand with the other, his expression comical: "My God! This... this is the legendary... Fountain of Life? The Fountain of Life that can make old men regain their vigor and old women young again?" He dragged out the words, deliberately emphasizing the words "Fountain of Life," his eyes gleaming with greed.

Li Jin cursed inwardly, "Old fox!" Jack was clearly feigning ignorance, deliberately trying to mislead him. Suppressing his anger, he sneered, "Jack, stop pretending! If you know about the Fountain of Life, you should know its value! Do you think you can snatch it from me with these worthless bastards you brought?"

Upon hearing this, Jack's bodyguards straightened their backs, displaying their muscular physiques. One of them, a burly man with a shaved head, even stepped forward, revealing a fierce expression as he glared menacingly at Li Jin.

"Kid, watch your mouth! Our boss gets whatever he wants!"

Li Jin curled his lip in disdain: "You lot? A bunch of useless trash who only know how to bully others!"

"You're asking for it!" the bald, burly man roared, swinging his fist as he charged at Li Jin.

Li Jin was prepared. He dodged the bald, burly man's attack by sidestepping. He then grabbed the man's arm and twisted it forcefully. With a "crack," the man's arm was dislocated.

"Ah!" The burly man screamed in pain, clutching his arm and collapsing to the ground.

Seeing this, the other bodyguards all drew their weapons and surrounded Li Jin, Xiao Mei, and Su Fei.

"Jack, what are you doing?" Sophie shouted angrily. "You dare to make a move here? Aren't you afraid I'll call the police?"

Jack burst into laughter: "Call the police? Princess Sophie, you're so naive! Do you think the police will believe you? They'll just think you're crazy!"

Xiao Mei clutched the strange weapon tightly, her eyes warily scanning the bodyguards around her. This weapon, called "Thunderclap," was something she had obtained from a mysterious ruin in another world. It possessed immense power, enough to blast the bodyguards before her into pieces. However, she didn't want to use it unless absolutely necessary; after all, this was the real world, and the consequences of using such a weapon were unimaginable.

"Jack, I advise you not to do anything reckless!" Xiaomei warned coldly, "Otherwise, you'll regret it!"

Jack shrugged dismissively: "Regret? I, Jack, never do anything I'll regret! Today, I'm going to get the Fountain of Life!"

He had barely finished speaking when suddenly, a piercing siren blared from afar, growing louder as it approached.

Jack's expression changed; he knew something was wrong. He hadn't expected the police to arrive so quickly!

"Damn it!" Jack cursed, glaring fiercely at Li Jin. "Consider yourself lucky! I'll let you go this time! Let's go!"

After saying that, he fled with his bodyguards.

The sirens grew closer, and several police cars pulled up in front of Li Jin's house.

Several police officers got out of the car and quickly surrounded Li Jin's house.

"What's going on?" a policeman asked.

Before Li Jin could speak, Sophie interjected, "Officer, these people broke into a private residence and attempted to rob it!"

"What?!" The police officer looked at Sophie in surprise, then at Li Jin and Xiao Mei, and at the bald, burly man lying on the ground groaning. He was completely bewildered.

"Officer, she...she has some mental issues," Li Jin quickly explained. "It's just a small misunderstanding."

"Misunderstanding?" Sophie glared at Li Jin. "You actually said I'm mentally unstable?!"

"No, that's not what I meant..." Li Jin was speechless for a moment, not knowing how to explain.

Xiao Mei chuckled to herself, thinking to herself that these two were really destined to clash, always bickering the moment they met.

The police officer looked at Sophie, then at Li Jin, and felt that things were not as simple as they said.

"Alright, all of you come with me to the police station and explain everything!" the policeman said.

Li Jin, Su Fei, and Xiao Mei looked at each other in bewilderment and had no choice but to follow the police to the police station.

At the police station, Li Jin and Xiao Mei were questioned separately.

Faced with police questioning, Li Jin naturally dared not reveal the time travel incident and could only fabricate some lies to cover it up.

Sophie, however, insisted that Jack and his companions had broken into a private residence and attempted to rob the Fountain of Life.

The police were skeptical of Sophie's words, after all, the Fountain of Life sounded too fantastical.
