The Rebirth of Bai Qi: The Way of Qi

Chapter 34 Re-entering the Perilous Path

Bai Qi emerged from the cave, his steps light and nimble. Yet, at that moment, he felt a strange and inexplicable sensation, as if some power was lurking deep within him, eerie and indescribable.

A gentle breeze stirs up swirling sand and dust, as if the eye of heaven and earth is looking down upon all living beings.

Bai Qi felt an unprecedented sense of ease, as if a heavy burden had been lifted from his shoulders.

He knew that if he didn't quickly regain his composure, the road ahead might be buried by crises and mysteries.

Han Fu walked to his side. Her beautiful face was hazy yet elegant in the sunlight. She looked a little tired, but the air of confidence between her brows was undiminished. It was obvious that she had benefited greatly from this battle.

"Bai Qi, I don't know what dangers await us ahead. I will stay close by your side and never leave you no matter what."

She stroked the light armor on her body with her hand, her tone firm.

Bai Qi nodded upon hearing this, deeply surprised by these words. He thought to himself: In such a harsh situation, someone can still maintain this will. You must know that a brave person is immortal precisely because of this.

Han Xin glanced sideways at them, took a few steps behind, shook off the dust left from the battle, and looked relaxed and at ease.

He maintained his composure, as calm as Zhen Yinhe, and smiled at his comrades: "The danger we just faced has passed. What fierce battles may come, but if we continue to work together, what is there to fear?"

Han Fu did not answer, but simply nodded. However, Bai Qi already had a plan in mind; they were a resilient team that had been through many trials and tribulations.

Whenever faced with danger, they always find a way to confront it.

Soon after, Situ Yan followed from behind the cave. She still looked tired, and her face was as beautiful as a flower. However, the dangers she had encountered that day had brought a hint of unspeakable worry to her eyes.

Knowing that her abilities were still weak, and that no one could take her place on this journey, she steadfastly stayed by his side.

"Ahead, there may be more traps, and perhaps only by forging ahead can we survive."

She murmured softly, seemingly not expecting any response from anyone.

Upon hearing this, Bai Qi's tiger-like eyes gleamed, and he made a firm decision in his heart: he would no longer let his thoughts falter, but would face the enemy head-on. During the adventure, he must do everything in his power to find the solution to the problem.

He turned to look at Situ Yan and smiled leisurely: "Even if there are many dangers, we will still travel together. There is no need to worry."

Everyone tacitly agreed, and at this moment, their spirits were lifted again, and their steps became even more firm.

At this time, there was a new member in the group, Xu Qi. He had dark skin, a thin but strong build, and his words and actions revealed the wisdom of a mountain dweller. Although he was inconspicuous, he was extremely quick-witted.

In the battle between Bai Qi and others and Li Si, he performed outstandingly, contributing his wisdom and strength, and won the trust of everyone.

Xu Qi didn't say much about embarking on another perilous journey, but his eyes were filled with courage and determination.

"This underground world is unfathomable, and there may still be unsolved mysteries."

As a well-informed person, he was even more aware of the dangers involved. He still remembered hearing ancient legends when he was young about the runes carved on underground stone tablets. What were the mysteries behind them, and what profound meanings did they hold?

The group set off again, with Xu Qi leading the way, walking briskly. He seemed quite familiar with the dark environment, handling it with ease.

The route was treacherous and winding, with complex terrain, requiring the team to be fully focused; a moment's lapse in concentration could lead to a fall and drowning.

However, Bai Qi discovered that his intuition and new insights were able to turn danger into safety in every critical moment.

He maintained his balance, sweating profusely, yet his expression remained calm. The more dangerous the situation, the more Bai Qi's exceptional skills and composure shone through.

Passing through treacherous streams and leaping over perilous canyons, they seemed to have entered a strange and mysterious jungle, a place of enigma and delusion.

Behind each of those phosphorus-laden boulders, a great mystery seems to lie dormant, waiting to be broken through.

Under a long corridor covered with moss, the group rested. Xu Qi finally had a chance to smell the dampness of the soil through a gap in the passage. He relaxed slightly, looked around, and coughed lightly, "Can you sense any strange aura in this air?"

The time when this question remains unanswered is drawing near.

Bai Qi was startled and sensed something. Before he could think about it, he suddenly discovered a strange sight in the drizzle: on the hard rock wall, there were intersecting lines, which were both fierce and beautiful, and seemed to be the mark of the power of thousands of years. It was an ancient rune that looked familiar!

He stood there for a long time, his heart stirred, and he silently praised, "These are the runes from the ancient altar, reflected in the stone. When they were formed is unknown."

Han Fuyi came over and nodded slightly. She also saw the patterns on the stone wall, and an indescribable sense of admiration rose in her expression.

“There is no need to trace the cause and effect,” Bai Qi said. “Just find inspiration from what is shown and explore the unsolved mystery.”

Unexpectedly, at that moment, the surrounding air suddenly began to fluctuate violently, like a turbulent sea. In an instant, layers of gloom rolled in the sky, and dark clouds filled the air, as if a gale was about to bring about the end of the equipment.

A powerful pressure rushed towards them, followed by a sudden jolt, sending dirt and rocks flying. A black shadow, like a ferocious beast awakened by the gods, roared towards them.

They swept towards the crowd with ghostly speed, invisible and silent.

Bai Qi's heart suddenly pounded, and he immediately sensed something was wrong. The newcomers were hostile, and this was another manifestation of ancient power.

He fought against the crowd with all his might, but his strength was ultimately limited, and he could not stop the invasion of this bizarre power.

"Watch out!" Bai Qi shouted sharply. Seeing the dark figure approaching and realizing he could not withstand it, he instinctively fought with all his might. Suddenly, everything went black, and his body was swept into chaos.

In an instant, Bai Qi lost consciousness. His body seemed to have left the real world and entered a strange, unfathomable void.

Despite the lack of constraints around him, he felt his soul drifting aimlessly, distant and hazy. He could only vaguely hear the exclamations of Han Fu and Situ Yan, but they seemed as distant and unreachable as if separated by a vast sky.

He tried to shout, but his voice was completely drowned out, and he couldn't hear his own response.

His consciousness began to fade, as time disappeared into the abyss of darkness.

Only then did Bai Qi realize that he had entered a completely new forbidden area, belonging to some unknown boundary.

He realized that the old runes might refer to this kind of realm beyond the mortal world.

Before he gradually lost control of his own power, he felt for the first time a deep-seated determination and strength, which seemed distant yet never lost, as he had been drifting through the flow of time and space.

Endless time may pass in the blink of an eye, and Bai Qi gradually awoke from the boundless void. However, he was unaware that he was now struggling and exploring once again in a new vortex of fate.
