The Walking Dead: I Sell Arms as a Sixth-Rate Seller in the Apocalypse
Chapter 37 Crimson Full Moon: The Three Trapped in the Pikachu
midnight
Blood-red full moon
1 km southwest of the abandoned quarry camp
Daryl: "Damn it, you cannibalistic beasts, don't even think about touching a hair on my head!"
Daryl roared at the zombies below. Dozens of zombies had gathered under the tree, each staring intently at Daryl with its bloodshot eyes that craved blood and flesh.
Daryl had been trapped in the tree for three hours. He was exhausted and had even finished the candies Rick had given him. Surrounded by so many zombies, it was impossible for Daryl not to be afraid, especially since he had weapons but no ammunition, which made him very uncomfortable.
Looking at the ever-increasing number of zombies below, Daryl felt utterly powerless. He even imagined himself falling from the tree due to exhaustion and being devoured by the zombies below.
Just then, Rick's voice came through Daryl's walkie-talkie.
Rick: "Darryl, hide well, I'm coming."
Having finished speaking
Before Daryl could react, a series of soft whooshing sounds came from below. In an instant, many zombies under the tree had their heads blown off, and black and red blood splattered everywhere, staining the tree where Daryl was standing black and red.
Daryl seized the opportunity, grabbed his military dagger, and jumped down onto a zombie's corpse. The dagger pierced the zombie's skull the instant he landed, killing it instantly.
Just as Daryl stood up from the zombie, a newly arrived zombie pounced on him. In an instant, Daryl was caught off guard by the zombie's ferocious strength. The zombie's hands gripped Daryl's shoulders tightly, and it stretched its neck and opened its bloody, foul-smelling mouth, ready to bite down on Daryl's neck.
At this critical moment, a steel ball struck the zombie's right eye with perfect accuracy, causing the eyeball to explode and blood to splatter. Daryl was startled by this unexpected scene. He stood there, stunned, looking at everything before him. He felt that he had never been so close to death. He was about to be devoured by the zombies, and this sudden attack was something he had never experienced before. Anyone would be unable to recover from such a shock for a while.
Just then, a man dressed in army combat uniform and carrying a tactical crossbow walked out of the woods on the other side. This man was Rick, who had come to rescue Daryl. Rick looked at the still dazed Daryl and said, "Hey, isn't this the Hunting God Daryl? It's only been a short time since I last saw him, how come you're so weak?"
Hearing Rick's sarcastic remarks, Daryl made an "international friendship gesture" at Rick and said, "Damn it, Rick, if you had been any later, I would have been splattered with blood on the spot, and you still dare to mock me, you despicable bastard!"
Rick ignored Daryl and spent 10 points to exchange for 5 boxes (100 steel balls per box) of tactical crossbow steel balls and 10 crossbow bolts (1 point for every 10 bolts).
Rick handed one of his military backpacks to Daryl, who took it, opened it, and found five boxes of steel balls, 50 crossbow bolts, a whole pack of system coins (10 points each), and a bottle of 10 blue coffee candies (10 points each).
Daryl was overjoyed, especially when he saw the whole pack of unopened cigarettes with golden dragons and phoenixes on it and the unopened bottle of blue coffee candy. His previous unhappiness vanished instantly.
Looking at the overjoyed Daryl, Rick calmly said, "These things aren't free. You need to come with me to a place to rescue someone. Consider these things your reward. After we rescue them, I'll give you another reward of this caliber."
Daryl: "What? Such a good thing? Boss, who do you want to save? I, Daryl Dixon, will be there for you!"
Rick: "Daryl, get ready now, grab your things and come with me right now."
Daryl: "Okay, boss, whatever you say."
After Daryl packed his things, he took out a blue coffee candy and put it in his mouth. Rick also took out a blue coffee candy and put it in his mouth. Instantly, the darkness in front of them seemed less dark. Although the darkness in the jungle appeared somewhat reddish under the blood-red full moon, the blue coffee candy was very effective. Although it wasn't as effective as the night vision goggles on his helmet, it was enough to allow them to see their surroundings clearly in the dark. This was undoubtedly the biggest help they had right now, since Rick hadn't found the night vision helmet yet, only a few sets of military uniforms and bulletproof vests.
"Looks like now that this mission is over, I'll have to find a chance to go to the military base in Atlanta. I just don't know where the military base is," Rick muttered to himself.
Rick followed the system's arrow signs to his destination, with Daryl close behind. Thanks to the blue coffee candy, Daryl's stamina had returned to its peak. Even so, Daryl still needed a good night's sleep. Although the blue coffee candy was incredibly effective, it couldn't keep someone awake indefinitely. If too much was consumed, it would prolong sleep time, potentially causing someone to sleep for several days in a row.
Thinking of this, Rick said to Daryl, "Daryl, you shouldn't eat too many of those blue coffee candies, or you'll sleep for days on end while you're asleep."
Daryl nodded to Rick and then said, "Yes, I can feel it. The first time I ate it, I felt like I could stay energetic all day. But when I was fighting zombies in the tree, I ate all the coffee candies one after another, and I found that my energetic state lasted for shorter and shorter periods. Now I feel like I can only last for an hour or two before I need to go to sleep."
Rick glanced at his watch; it was exactly 2:30 AM. He pulled out his walkie-talkie and said, "Rick calling Sean, Rick calling Sean, please respond, over."
At that moment, Sean was demonstrating one of his signature moves, the "triple headshot with an assault rifle," to Ethan and Jack with his AR15 assault rifle when Rick's voice came through the walkie-talkie. Sean stopped his demonstration, picked up the walkie-talkie, and replied, "This is Sean, boss. How's it going? Is Daryl alright?"
At this moment, Daryl took out his walkie-talkie and replied to Sean: "Thank goodness, I almost didn't make it back. If it weren't for the boss, I might have become food and one of the zombies."
Upon hearing Daryl's words, Sean immediately said anxiously, "Daryl, boss, are you in danger? Should I send a few people over to help you?"
Rick quickly picked up the walkie-talkie and said, "No! Sean, don't come over. Just guard the camp. Daryl and I have already gotten out of the horde. There are still a few hundred zombies that you need to deal with. Daryl and I need to go rescue two people. Don't worry about us. Just focus on carrying out the tasks I've assigned you."
Sean breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Okay, boss. I'll keep an eye on the camp while you're away and make sure no one gets hurt. If you need help outside, contact me on the walkie-talkie and I'll bring my squad to your aid immediately."
Having finished speaking
Rick put down the walkie-talkie, grabbed the tactical crossbow, and continued to rush towards the location indicated by the system with Daryl.
At the mission objective location, Maggie, Beth, and Mihoko were resting inside a four-door pickup truck.
Fortunately, they had prepared some snacks and fresh water in the vehicle before they came out to relieve stress and hunger. The three of them had been stuck in the same place for three hours. In addition, each of them had eaten some snacks and drunk some mineral water. All three of them needed to find a place to take care of this problem.
However, the situation outside did not allow them to do so. Several zombies were wandering around the four-door pickup truck. With the windows covered by dust covers, they could not observe the situation outside the vehicle at all. In particular, the interior of the four-door pickup truck was very soundproof, which led them to mistakenly believe that the zombies outside had gone far away.
Unable to hold it in any longer, Beth said to the two of them, "Sister Maggie, Sister Mieko, I think I can't hold it in any longer!"
Maggie and Mihoko nodded in succession. They also ate some snacks and drank some water, and their bladders were now full of brown liquid.
Mieko took out an empty bottle and handed it to Beth, saying, "We can't be sure if it's safe outside right now, so use this for now."
Beth didn't take the bottle, but said to Mieko, "Um, Mieko-neeko, that's not what I meant. I'm older, so this won't solve the problem."
After saying that, Beth turned her head away awkwardly, not daring to look at Mieko again.
After listening, Mihoko said helplessly, "Sigh, me too, but we can't take care of it in the car. The smell is too awful. Putting aside the zombies, the smell alone could kill us, not to mention when the horde of zombies will disperse."
Maggie and Beth exchanged a glance, then imagined the scene. It was both embarrassing and disgusting. They were both naive young girls who had never experienced anything like this before. Even if they were surrounded by a horde of zombies, they would rather commit suicide than deal with such a situation.
At this moment, looking at the sunroof of the four-door pickup truck, Mihoko immediately thought of a plan and said to the two of them, "Sister Maggie, Sister Beth, I think I can climb out of the sunroof of the vehicle first and come to the back of the pickup truck. If there are no zombies around, I will call you two to come out. If there are zombies, I will come back."
Upon hearing this, Beth said, "But isn't that very dangerous? What if those zombies are outside, and you get discovered after climbing to the back?"
Mieko: "It's not a big problem. I still have the first generation Kitetsu. If all else fails, I can use the first generation Kitetsu to deal with the zombies and then come back. Before we came here, I observed the back of this pickup truck and found that it is higher than the back of a regular pickup truck. If I stand on it, the zombies should not be able to climb up."
Maggie nodded to Mieko and said, "Okay, be careful."
After saying that, Maggie opened the sunroof of Pikachu, and instantly, the low growls of zombies came in from outside, which startled everyone who was about to go out. At this moment, everyone also realized that Pikachu was surrounded by zombies.
However, just as they were feeling desperate because they were trapped in the car, a sports car drove towards them.
