The Walking Dead: I Sell Arms as a Sixth-Rate Seller in the Apocalypse

Chapter 29 The Fall of Herschel Farm Under the Crimson Full Moon

夜晚

Blood-red full moon

Herschel Green Farm

Audis was stunned by what he saw. Josephine Green and Arnold Green, their eyes bloodshot and their arms covered in blood, were attacking Audis. Terrified, Audis retreated while saying, "Young Master Arnold, I am Audis. Don't you recognize me? Madam Joseph, I am Audis. Don't you recognize me?"

Audis looked on in horror as Arnold and Josephine approached him.

Just then, Maggie and Beth suddenly appeared behind Herschel. When they saw their blood-soaked, snarling brother Arnold and Beth's biological mother Josephine, they both screamed in unison. The zombies that were still wandering around the farm heard the screams coming from the white building on the farm and walked unsteadily toward the farm.

Just as Arnold and Josephine were only a meter away from Audis, the door beside them opened. A shirtless man wearing a pair of briefs emerged from the room, rubbing his sleepy eyes, and said to the two corpses outside, "So noisy! Don't you two sleep at night? Really... Huh? Ahhh? Uhhhhhh? Uhhhhhhh!"

Before Jimmy could finish speaking, Josephine and Arnold tackled him to the ground, and the zombie's claws immediately burrowed into his body and began tearing at his muscle tissue.

Before all this happened, Jimmy hadn't seen the two zombies in front of him clearly, but Josephine and Arnold, the mother and son zombies, had already noticed Jimmy. They turned around and pounced on Jim, who was still rubbing his eyes and complaining.

Seeing Jimmy being tackled, Beth cried out to her boyfriend, "No! Jimmy! No! Mom! Brother! Stop! That's my boyfriend Jimmy! You two, don't hurt him!"

Hearing Beth's scream, Maggie immediately covered Beth's eyes, tears streaming down her face as she watched the scene unfold. Herschel paused, then walked over to Arnold and Josephine, who were lying on the ground gnawing on Jimmy. But when he pointed his gun at them, he hesitated and didn't fire. Audis was speechless with shock at the sight before him. Just then, Patricia, lying not far away, twitched and slowly stood up. Patricia's organs were ripped out everywhere, and even blood-stained intestines were hanging from her stomach. She lifted her obese body, raised her mangled arms, and walked step by step toward Audis. When Audis saw himself standing up, he was even a little excited, after all, his wife was alive and had even stood up.

Just when he thought his wife was alright, Patricia tripped over her own intestines and fell to the ground. In an instant, some of her tissue flew onto Audis. Audis was shocked by this, and then he saw something even more shocking. Patricia, who had tripped over her own intestines, fell not far from Jimmy. At this moment, she smelled blood. She dragged her fat body and slowly crawled towards Jimmy on the ground. In front of Maggie, Herschel, Audis, Josephine and Arnold joined her in devouring the remaining flesh and blood on Jimmy's body.

Upon seeing this, Audis exclaimed to the now-zombified Patricia, "Patricia! No! How could you become like this! That's Jimmy! Jimmy who's here tonight to enjoy your delicious barbecue with us!"

Patricia, now a zombie, ignored what Audis was saying and continued to eat Jimmy alongside Josephine and her son.

Upon seeing the scene before him, Herschel made a snap decision and immediately pulled the stunned Audis and Maggie Beth towards the two pickup trucks outside the room.

When the group went outside, they found dozens of zombies with bloodshot eyes around the farm.

When the zombies spotted Herschel and the others, they immediately walked towards them, shouting incoherently as they went.

Seeing this, Herschel said to Maggie, "Maggie, take your sister and get in the car first. Audis, wake up!"

Herschel looked at Audis, who was standing there in a daze with his eyes glazed over, and shouted loudly.

But Audis showed no signs of waking up, so Herschel, in desperation, kicked Audis.

This kick sent Audis flying from in front of Herschel into the door frame of the pickup truck behind him, effectively waking him up.

Seeing that the kick worked, Herschel scolded Audis, "Damn it, Audis! Go start the car! Wait for me to come up, don't just stand there, or you'll get us killed."

Upon hearing Herschel's reprimand, Audis's mind cleared instantly, and he replied, "Yes...yes, Mr. Herschel."

Herschel nodded to Audis, then raised his Remington M870 and fired at the nearest zombie, saying, "Damn bastard, how dare you trespass on my farm! I'll send you to meet your God with one shot!"

With a bang, Herschel's shotgun shell hit the zombie's stomach precisely. The zombie was instantly sent flying three meters away, its intestines and other organs falling to the ground.

Herschel used the same method on the other zombies, but he was dumbfounded when he saw the first zombie he attacked slowly get up from the ground.

The zombie's heart and other organs were shattered by the No. 12 lead bullets loaded into the M870. Herschel understood that a real person would die when these organs were destroyed, instead of continuing to stand up.

Seeing this, Herschel loaded the last few shotgun shells in his body and fired at the zombie's head. With a bang, several lead bullets sprayed out of the muzzle, instantly shattering the zombie's head in front of him.

The zombie's body fell to the ground with a thud, its brains splattering at Herschel's feet. Herschel immediately began to blow the heads off the other zombies one by one.

tens of seconds later

All that remained at the scene was Herschel, panting heavily while holding a shotgun.

Just then, Herschel's SUV finally started, and Audis said to Herschel, "Mr. Herschel, get in the car quickly."

Herschel then walked to the edge of the two pickup trucks and, with a whoosh, flipped onto the back of the truck bed.

Just then, Herschel saw four figures emerge from his white house: Josephine, his second wife and Beth's biological mother; Arnold, the eldest son of Annette, his first wife and Maggie's biological mother; Patricia, the driver and wife of Audis; and Jimmy, Beth's ex-boyfriend, who had just been turned into a zombie and was tattered and mangled by the three zombies in front of him.

Seeing these people, Herschel could no longer hold back his tears. He was wrong, he always knew he was wrong, but he just wouldn't admit it. He knew very well that his son and wife had long since become cannibalistic monsters, but the last vestiges of his understanding and his longing for his son and wife were holding him back. He chose not to face it. He told Beth, Maggie, and even Oscar that these people were just sick, not monsters, and that locking them in the barn was to prevent them from running away. In fact, when Herschel saw the news reports about these cannibalistic monsters, he knew that their country was facing a huge crisis. But he thought that his farm was remote enough, far from cities and villages, that he and his family wouldn't encounter such a thing. Just as he was preparing his family to take all necessary precautions, his son Arnold and wife Josephine fell ill one after another.

Herschel had no choice but to lock his sick family members in the barn. The next day, when Herschel came to the barn, he found that his wife and son, as well as the employees of his farm, had turned into bloodthirsty and terrifying monsters. Herschel realized that the people in front of him had become the kind of man-eating monsters that were described on television.

But when he thought of those people who were his closest family members, he could only feed them raw meat with blood on a regular schedule every day.

As he watched himself grow further and further away from his farm, he wiped away his tears and asked Audis, "Audis, where are we going next?"

Audis: "Mr. Herschel, we are now heading north to Atlanta. I've heard that there are official military shelters in Atlanta, and I think we can try our luck there, although after two months, I'm not sure if it has fallen like the farm."

Upon hearing this, Herschel replied without hesitation, "Then let's go there. For an old farmer who has lost his farm and his family, nothing could be worse than today."

Audis: "But Mr. Herschel, we're running low on fuel and might not make it to Atlanta. We'll need to find a gas station further ahead to refuel."

Hearing Audis's words, Herschel said, "Then I'll listen to you, Audis. There's a gas station not far from the farm to the north. It's owned by my old friend's son, Tommy. Before the apocalypse, when I drove Beth to school in Atlanta, I often stopped there to refuel. We might still have gas if we go there now. I know where the gas pump key is hidden."

Audis asked with a puzzled look, "Oh? Mr. Herschel, how do you know where he hides the key to the gas pump at his gas station?"

Herschel stroked his graying beard and joked, "Because my old friend's son, Tommy, likes my Maggie. They're even classmates. I initially agreed to let him date Maggie out of respect for my friend, but when I found out that Tommy was seeing other women behind Maggie's back, I grabbed this shotgun and drove straight to his house. I ran into Tommy on the way, and he was bragging to me about the gas station he owned north of my house."

Audis asked with interest, "Oh? What happened next? How did you know where he hid the gas pump key?"

Herschel chuckled, touching his Remington 870, and said, "Because when he heard that I came to settle scores with him with a gun because I found out he was cheating on Maggie with other women, Tommy was terrified. He knelt down and begged me to forgive him. To get my forgiveness, Tommy said that all my gas station gas would be free from now on, and that if he wasn't there, his spare gas pump starter key was buried under the donation box next to the gas station."

Upon hearing this, Audis asked, "Mr. Herschel, what happened next?"

Herschel: "They broke up. Maggie made a fuss about it for a month. My sweetheart ignored me for a whole month. I don't know how I got through that time. It's a pity. When I told Maggie the reason, she said she never wanted to date a white man again. She said she wanted to marry a Chinese man."

Audis: "Mr. Herschel, why would Miss Maggie have such a thought?"

Herschel: "I only heard her say that once. She said that Chinese men listen to their wives, are handsome, and know how to be considerate of their wives."

At this moment, Maggie, who was still sitting to the side, heard the conversation between the two and proudly said to Audis and Herschel in the truck bed, "That's right, I'm looking for a boyfriend and a man like this to marry. But if he doesn't listen to me, I'll let him know how powerful the women of the Green family are!"

Meanwhile, far away in an abandoned quarry north of Atlanta, Rick, who was mobilizing a group of people, suddenly sneezed into the sky and said, "Huh? What's going on? Did I catch a cold? Or is someone thinking about me?"

Not far from Rick, Glenn, who was holding an AR15 assault rifle and staring ahead, suddenly shuddered, and a cold sweat poured down Glenn's forehead.

Meanwhile, T, who was also holding an AR-15 assault rifle, asked Glenn, "Hey buddy, what's wrong? Are you okay? Don't embarrass Rick at this crucial moment, okay?"

Glenn, leaning against the wooden stake in front of him, said, "Don't worry, I'm fine. I just felt like I lost something very important, but I can't remember what it is."

Seeing that Glenn looked unwell with a cold sweat on his head, T-boy immediately took out the green baseball cap he used to wear when he played baseball and put it on Glenn's head.

Glenn saw T-boy put his favorite baseball cap on his head, turned to T-boy and said, "Thanks, buddy, I promise I'll give this cap back to you intact after the battle."

Upon hearing this, T-boy, who was standing next to Glenn, waved his hand and said, "It's okay, buddy. Consider it a gift from me. Cherish it."

Upon hearing this, Glenn nodded gratefully to T-boy and said with a smile, "Don't worry, buddy, I'll definitely cherish this hat of yours."

Having finished speaking

Glenn continued to keep a watchful eye on the distant jungle.
