The Walking Dead: I Sell Arms as a Sixth-Rate Seller in the Apocalypse

The seventh floor of the department store.

Once on the seventh floor, the group surveyed their surroundings. Seeing that there were almost no zombies, their tense nerves relaxed. Seeing their relief, Rick joked, "Guys, relax. The zombies are mostly down below. Look."

Rick pointed down, and everyone followed him to the edge of the seventh floor and looked down. They were stunned. The first floor was densely packed with zombies. Some zombies were smashed to pieces, but their heads were still moving. Others had their heads smashed open, and their brains and dark red blood turned the first floor completely dark red.

Everyone snapped out of their daze and stared at Rick with the look of someone looking at a monster. Andrea was the first to speak up, asking, "My God, did you do all this?"

Rick: "Yes, ma'am, it's not difficult."

Upon hearing Rick's Versailles, Andrea rolled her eyes at him and said, "It's not hard? You did what none of us could do, and you say it's not hard? If it's not hard, then nothing in this world is hard, you hypocrite!"

Andrea's words resonated with everyone except Moore, who stared at her with disdain, making Rick feel somewhat uncomfortable. He then explained, "Actually, it's really not difficult; it just involves a bit of luck. You'll see."

Rick pointed to a broken railing at the edge of the sixth floor and explained, "If it weren't for that, these zombies wouldn't have fallen to the first floor. I just used the zombies' sensitivity to sound and made a trap to attract them by using a few alarm clocks."

After hearing Rick's words, everyone finally understood what had happened and thanked him profusely.

Rick noticed that many shops were closed and then realized that this department store hadn't been looted by rioters during the apocalypse. Only Glenn and his group had been there, but their purpose was to collect supplies. They wouldn't collect things like gold, silver, jewelry, or dollars; these flashy luxuries were useless for survival in the apocalypse. But these things would be much more useful to him. Since he had run out of points, and he had saved them, he might as well let them collect all the gold, silver, jewelry, and dollars in the department store for him.

Thinking of this, Rick called the group over and said, "Hey guys, I promised to get you out of here, and I'll definitely do it, but I need your help to do it."

Hearing Rick's words, the group exchanged bewildered glances. Then Glenn stepped forward and asked, "What kind of help do you need? You don't want one of us to become a toddler, do you?"

Upon hearing Glenn's words, Rick quickly waved his hand and said, "No, no, no, I don't need you to do that kind of thing. I just need you to help me collect all the dollars, gold bars, and gold and silver jewelry in the entire department store and hand them over to me. Only then will I be able to take you away."

Hearing Rick's words, everyone was puzzled. Nobody was a fool. When Rick asked for all the gold, silver, jewelry, and dollars in the building, they all thought Rick was being silly. In a zombie apocalypse, what use were these things? Out of politeness, no one stood up to question Rick.

Seeing this, Rick said with satisfaction, "Don't worry, I won't let you collect it for nothing. You saw Moore, right?"

Moore: "Boss, did you call me?"

Rick: "Dixon, relax, you stay alert."

Moore: "Yes, Boss."

Rick continued, “You all saw the equipment Moore was wearing, right? I gave him all of these things. You saw it with your own eyes, didn’t you? Since I can give Moore a set, I can give it to others too. But it depends on your efficiency. Whoever collects the most will get a set of the same weapons and equipment as Moore.”

Instantly, everyone became excited as if they had been injected with chicken blood, especially Andrea and T-boy. At first, they were very puzzled when they saw Rick giving Moore this set of equipment, but then their puzzlement turned into envy. Andrea, in particular, thought that if Rick had chosen her instead, she would definitely have done better than Moore.

While everyone was whispering among themselves, Rick bought six extra-large backpacks from the system shop (each costing 0.5 points), turned around and went to a restaurant next door. He then materialized them from a hidden corner and tossed them to the group.

After receiving their backpacks, everyone headed to different floors. Rick ordered Moore to keep watch, while he himself went to the first floor, which was like a living hell. Taking advantage of the fact that no one was on the first floor, Rick materialized the Beowulf assault rifle from his system space. Using the zombie radar carried by the Beowulf assault rifle, Rick quickly confirmed the zombies still alive around him. He then loaded the crossbow with steel balls and shot the zombies that were still alive.

Fifteen minutes later........

Rick used his under-barrel crossbow to clear all the red dots on the zombie radar. He ignored the zombies outside the department store, but clearing the zombies inside the department store alone consumed 150 steel balls, even with each steel ball taking down one zombie.

This haul yielded a total of 75 points, averaging 0.5 points per zombie.

Rick was fairly satisfied with the situation. To make it easier to distribute weapons to everyone for the mission later, Rick told them the meeting point and then went to the back door on the first floor of the department store. Following Moore's standards, he exchanged for two sets of the same equipment. However, this time, Rick didn't exchange for the M14 Crazy Horse. Besides not having enough points, another reason was that the marksman rifle was only suitable for medium and long ranges and was difficult to use effectively against zombies at close range. Thinking of this, Rick decisively exchanged for two AR15 assault rifles (10 points each), ten boxes of 5.56mm ammunition (1 point per box, 100 rounds per box), one set of men's army combat uniform (1 point per set) and one set of women's army combat uniform (1 point per set), two M1911 pistols (5 points each), and two boxes of .45 caliber ammunition (1 point per box). Rick spent 44 points on just these items: a box of 100 rounds each and two tactical walkie-talkies (1 point each). He also exchanged three boxes of .45 caliber ammunition for Glenn, Jacqueline, and T-Z, each receiving a MAC-10 silenced submachine gun and a box of 100 rounds each. In total, Rick spent 73 points. All of this was to complete the advanced mission of this phase, as the reward was a random armed truck. Only by obtaining this truck could he officially begin the arms sales mission.

Half an hour later...

The crowd gradually gathered at the back entrance on the first floor of the department store.

Upon seeing everyone, Rick used the system to check the points each person had looted from their backpacks: Andrea 186 points, Morales 140 points, Jacques 76 points, and Glenn 98 points. This time, he had earned a total of 500 points! Subtracting the 39 points he spent on Morales and the 73 points he gave away equipment to others, he earned a total of 388 points!

After Rick spoke a few words to the group, he distributed their weapons. Everyone's face lit up with surprise upon receiving them. Morales and Andrea were even more excited than the others when they saw they not only had weapons but also uniforms. The thought of becoming like Morales filled them with gratitude as they looked at Rick. Rick then took the gold and jewels the group had looted outside and quickly exchanged them for points.

At this moment, the system sound sounded.
