I thrived in the primitive tribe

After Lu Yao successfully extracted the salt crystals, everyone's confidence soared, as if an invisible force had been injected into their hearts. Joy radiated from their faces, and they channeled this joy into powerful motivation, dedicating themselves even more diligently to the salt-making work. With everyone's efforts, salt was continuously produced, and soon their animal skin bags for storing salt were full.

Looking at the bulging animal skin bag, Lu Yao was surprised by the high salt content of this saltwater lake. After discussing it, the group decided to use one earthenware jar to store the salt, and then return to the tribe once all the jars were full.

Just as the group was busy with their tasks, the wolf pack made a move. For some unknown reason, all the wolves suddenly stood up and turned their heads toward the center of their encirclement.

Seeing this ritualistic action, Lu Yao and the others were completely bewildered, not knowing what was going on. However, taking advantage of the fact that the other side had not yet made any move against them, they quickened their pace, fearing that the other side might suddenly go crazy and attack them again.

As time passed, the wolves grew increasingly restless. They paced back and forth, their claws digging rapidly into the ground, raising clouds of dust, as if some indescribable anxiety was gripping their hearts.

An uneasy glint flashed in the wolves' eyes. They looked up at the distance from time to time, their ears perked up, as if trying to catch the faintest sounds in the air.

Lu Yao and the others noticed the unusual restlessness and abnormality of the wolf pack. They all stopped what they were doing and turned their gazes to the mysterious area tightly surrounded by the wolves. Curiosity and doubt were written on everyone's face. They tried to glimpse the truth through the gaps in the wolves' ranks, but unfortunately, after the wolves stood up, they huddled even closer together, like an impenetrable wall, completely blocking out everything inside.

Just as they were being tormented by their irrepressible curiosity and were almost unable to resist the urge to get closer and find out what was going on, a loud and joyful wolf howl rang out, and the restless wolf pack was gradually calmed down.

A short while later, a more urgent and clearly uneasy wolf howl suddenly rang out. The wolf pack seemed to be ignited, becoming even more restless, but this time it gave people a strong sense of sadness.

The group remained on high alert, ready to leave immediately if the wolves made any move, trying to avoid a direct confrontation.

Just as everyone was tense and watching intently, afraid that the slightest movement might disturb the restless wolves, a new commotion arose. A very strong adult wolf slowly stepped out from the pack, its gait steady and powerful, each step exuding an undeniable majesty. It gently carried a barely moving wolf in its mouth, its movements devoid of any aggression, instead revealing a tenderness and care, as if it were carrying an extremely precious treasure.

Behind the robust adult wolf followed two wolf cubs who looked like they had just been born and were still unsteady on their feet. They stumbled along, occasionally falling because of their unsteady steps, but each time they quickly got up and continued to keep up with the adult wolf.

The robust wolf gently placed the wolf it was carrying on the ground, its eyes filled with sorrow and pleading, as if seeking the help of the group.

Seeing this, Lu Yao guessed that the wolf lying on the ground, barely alive, must be the mate of the wolf, and the two wolf cubs must be their newborn offspring. It seemed that this must be the alpha wolf of the pack.

"What is it trying to do?" a tribesman asked his companion in a low voice.

"You're asking me? Who should I ask? I don't know either!"

"Is this a request for our help?"

"You're kidding me. Wolves would ask us orcs for help?"

"Yes, I've never heard of wolves asking orcs for help; they usually come to attack orc tribes."

"No, as far as I know, they generally won't attack orc tribes unless they provoke the wolf pack."

"That seems to be the case."

"You two have gone off-topic."

Listening to her tribesmen whispering about the current situation, Lu Yao was speechless. What kind of time is this to be discussing the principles of the wolf pack's attack? The most important thing right now is to figure out what they're trying to do. The orcs really have a big heart.

“I think it might really be asking us for help,” Loya whispered in Lu Yao’s ear. The air from Loya’s breath brushed against Lu Yao’s ear, creating a subtle sensation that instantly flushed her ears a blush, like a peach blossom blooming in the morning light, delicate and beautiful.

Lu Yao's heart skipped a beat. She turned her head slightly and glanced at Luo Ya out of the corner of her eye, only to find him staring intently at the strong adult wolf, his eyes filled with seriousness and focus. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.

“Yes, I think so too,” Lu Yao replied softly, trying to make her voice sound calm and natural. She didn’t want Luo Ya to notice her loss of composure.

The two exchanged a knowing glance, then simultaneously turned to look at the adult wolf. "We need to be careful," Lu Yao whispered to Luo Ya. "Let's get closer and take a look, but stay alert and be ready to deal with any unexpected situations." Luo Ya cautiously replied.

“We two will try moving over there, you guys stay here and don’t move,” Loya whispered to the others.

The two slowly moved two steps toward the alpha wolf, which remained standing there quietly. Then it turned and howled at the pack, and two adult wolves came out and drove the two cubs back into the pack. They also retreated a distance, leaving only the wolf lying on the ground and the alpha wolf.

Seeing this, the two became even more certain of their guess, so they quickened their pace and approached the alpha wolf. As they got closer, Lu Yao said, "Hello, wolf leader, do you want us to help rescue your mate? We mean no harm. Let's go over and check it out now, is that alright? If so, please nod."

Loya found it amusing; this wasn't a beastman, so how could it understand Lu Yao's words? But a miraculous thing happened: the wolf actually nodded its head.

Because Lu Yao wasn't speaking very loudly, only Luo Ya, who was next to her, heard it. He showed a shocked expression, but when he heard the person next to him breathe a sigh of relief, he quickly composed himself.

Then, as if they had received some kind of pardon, the two quickly walked towards the alpha wolf.
