The group escaped before the passage completely collapsed and reached a relatively open flat area. Outside, a fierce wind howled, sand and stones flew everywhere, and the harsh weather made it almost impossible for them to open their eyes. They were panting heavily, utterly exhausted.

Zhang Wei looked around and found a cave where they could take temporary shelter. He said, "Let's all rest in that cave for a while."

Supporting each other, the group struggled into the cave. Zhang Wei asked Bai Sanxing to check everyone's injuries, while he stood near the cave entrance, vigilantly observing the surroundings. Shen Ying stood to the side, watching the terrifying scene outside as the wind howled, whipping up sand and gravel.

Tom's arm was scraped by a rock, and blood was flowing freely. Bai Sanxing quickly took out first-aid supplies from his backpack. He swiftly and methodically cleaned Tom's wound, disinfected it, applied medicine, and bandaged it, his movements very skillful.

Cruise also had some bruises on his legs, making him wince in pain. Bai Sanxing went over, gently pressed and examined them, then took out a bottle of medicine and tossed it to him: "Apply it and massage it in yourself, and you can relieve the pain."

Everyone else had minor scrapes and abrasions, nothing serious. Only one of Alice's teammates had been hit in the back by a falling rock and was lying on the ground groaning. Bai Sanxing went over and helped cut open his shirt to check the wound. Outside, lightning flashed and thunder roared, and torrential rain poured down, as if to engulf the entire world.

"Fortunately, they're just superficial injuries, but they still need to be treated properly," Bai Sanxing said.

"Thank you." The person who had finished treating the wound on his back looked at Bai Sanxing gratefully.

Gradually, the cries of pain subsided, and everyone fell silent, still immersed in the thrilling escape they had just experienced.

After a while, Wang Feng broke the silence: "This was really close, we almost died there. And this damn weather just made things worse!"

"Yes, but thankfully everyone escaped," someone echoed.

Zhang Wei walked in, checked on the wounded, and said seriously, "Rest well first, and think about what to do next after you've regained some strength. We don't know how long this harsh weather will last, so we need to be prepared."

The cave was filled with a tense and tired atmosphere, and everyone was silently adjusting their state.

Alice's eyes snapped open, bloodshot and filled with boundless terror. Her lips moved, and she murmured incessantly, "We released the demon, we released the demon, we..."

Hearing her words, the teammate who had been taking care of her immediately felt a pang of anxiety and asked their captain nervously, "Captain, what's wrong? Where's the demon? Are you having a nightmare?"

But Alice seemed not to hear him, repeating the same words to herself.

The commotion caught Zhang Wei's attention. He walked over to Alice and asked in a serious tone, "Alice, what did you say about a demon? What did you see?"

Alice ignored his words and continued muttering to herself, her body trembling uncontrollably.

Cruise frowned and said worriedly, "Has she been scared out of her mind?"

Wang Feng frowned and shook his head with concern: "No, the captain is a very strong person. Judging from her appearance, she must know something important, probably something very serious."

Suddenly, Alice raised her head, staring straight ahead, and cried out in a shrill voice, "That crystal ball, it sealed the demon, we released it!"

The group exchanged bewildered glances, their unease growing stronger.

Zhang Wei pondered for a moment, his expression calm: "Calm down first. Based on the current situation, we still don't know what abilities this so-called demon has. Everyone be prepared to deal with any potential dangers at any time."

Just then, the wind outside the cave suddenly stopped, and Shen Ying, who had been quietly waiting, happened to be at the cave entrance. She slowly got up and cautiously took a few steps outside, wanting to observe the situation outside.

She looked around the cave entrance; it was eerily quiet, as if even the air itself had frozen. Shen Ying strained her ears, only to find that there was no sound behind her either. The conversations of the people inside the cave, and the occasional soft noises from others, which she had previously heard clearly, had all vanished without a trace. Even outside, there was the same deathly silence, as if the entire world had instantly plunged into an abyss of silence.

Shen Ying felt a sudden, inexplicable pang of fear. She turned and looked into the cave, then walked back a few steps. The moment she entered, what she saw struck her like a thunderbolt, leaving her frozen in place. What had happened in just a few minutes? She stared in disbelief at the scene before her. Everyone was sprawled out, some lying face down, some sitting, some reclining, all looking limp and lifeless.

Only the figure that had always taken care of her, making her feel incredibly warm and at ease—Zhang Wei—stood there. In front of him, Alice lay on the ground, her body covered in blood, the glaring red stinging Shen Ying's eyes.

Zhang Wei slowly turned to look at her, a naive smile on his face unlike anything he'd ever shown before. In such a bloody and terrifying scene, that smile seemed so eerie and abrupt, sending chills down Shen Ying's spine.

Suddenly, a similar face flashed through Shen Ying's mind, a face with the same eerie smile. In her memory, it was a face she had never seen before, yet it appeared in her memory.

Just then, the system's cold, emotionless voice rang in her mind: "Mission complete. Exit the game."

Shen Ying felt a sudden dizziness, and everything around her began to blur until she was plunged into darkness.

Inside the elevator, Shen Ying shuddered. She suddenly opened her eyes, her posture frozen in the motion of stepping into the elevator. Everything in the game world receded like a tide at that moment, completely gone, and just like last time, she remembered nothing.

Shen Ying's face was filled with a blank, unreal expression. She glanced at the time on the opposite screen reflected in the mirror; it hadn't changed. Although she had spent thirty days in the game, the real world couldn't detect that she had ever left. It was as if she had taken a time journey, leaving from this time and returning to it.

Having lost her memory, aside from a slightly unsettling feeling, the only certainty was that she had indeed left the real world to go to the game world for a mission.

Back home, Shen Ying opened the window to let in some fresh air, turned on the floor fan, and then lay down on the soft bed. She seemed very tired, and soon a soft snoring could be heard.

As darkness fell outside, Shen Ying did not wake up until the moon came out.

Inside the room, a petite figure huddled up. From below her collarbone, a soft golden light shone faintly through her clothes, forming a complex and mysterious totem along the lines, flickering weakly.

The fan in the bedroom slowed down to an extremely slow speed, and the curtains that were being blown by the wind seemed to be suspended in mid-air. Only upon close inspection could one see that the curtains were indeed moving, but very, very slowly.

The light emanating from Shen Ying gradually expanded, eventually enveloping her entirely. It wasn't until dawn that everything in the room returned to normal; the fan blades began to spin, casting illusory shadows, and the curtains fluttered and fell.

Shen Ying had a good night's sleep and felt full of energy. Her mental state was even better than when she was at her best. This time, she didn't feel the near-low point she had felt after her last time traveling back from another world.
