Yan Zuozuo put her things down at home, feeling completely lost and helpless. Design was a part of her life, and now that it had suddenly been taken away, she didn't know what to do. She felt somewhat wronged about this, and her eyes welled up with tears as she thought about it.

She glanced at the time, quickly wiped away her tears, bought lunch, and went to the hospital to see Yan's mother. She told herself she couldn't cry, and no matter what happened, she couldn't let Yan's mother worry.

When she arrived, the doctor was examining Yan's mother and said that she was recovering very well. She could stay for another week and be discharged if there were no other complications.

Mu Tianyang was very happy and said that he wanted Yan's mother to stay with him after she was discharged from the hospital. Yan's mother naturally refused, and Yan Zuozuo also felt that this was not good, since they were not married yet. She hoped that Yan's mother would stay with her and Chi Moqing.

Mother Yan also disagreed and insisted on going back to her own home. Mu Tianyang smiled and said, "Okay, I'll move in with you. That way, I'll have someone to take care of me, and I'll feel at ease."

"What kind of talk is this? People will gossip about it." Although Yan's mother spoke in a scolding tone, her eyes were still full of sweetness.

"Then register our marriage." Mu Tianyang seized the opportunity to force her into marriage, but Yan's mother glared at him angrily, "Wait until you've won over your daughter before you talk about it."

"That's easy, just wait to marry me," Mu Tianyang said confidently, as he brought water to Yan's mother.

Yan Zuozuo saw everything and smiled broadly.

After leaving the hospital, she figured she didn't have to go to work anyway, so she decided to go to the supermarket to buy groceries and stay home to be a stay-at-home wife and mother for a while. Her cooking skills had improved considerably under her mother's tutelage; she could now prepare simple home-style dishes that were presentable.

Because it wasn't cooking time yet, there were very few people in the fresh food section, and you could hear anyone if they spoke even slightly louder. Just as Yan Zuozuo was picking out fish, she suddenly heard a woman's coquettish voice behind her.

"I want to eat this. Can you make it for me tonight?" the woman said with a sweet laugh. Her voice was pleasant and somewhat familiar.

The man responded, paused, and said, "We're out of oyster gas at home. Remember to remind me later."

"Okay." The woman seemed to have seen something she liked even more, and ran to another freezer, pointing to the things inside, "And this, it's my favorite, you used to make it for me all the time."

Yan Zuozuo frowned, unsure if she had misheard. Pushing her cart forward, she bent down to pick out side dishes when she saw a tall, elegant figure pass by her. Immediately afterward, she heard the woman's cheerful voice, "These shrimp are really good. I love your cashew shrimp the most. Make it for me tonight."

Yan Zuozuo looked over curiously, wanting to make sure she hadn't misheard. She suddenly looked up and met Wang Kaijun's astonished expression. Clearly, he had seen her too.

"Miss Yan?" Wang Kaijun was pleasantly surprised to see her.

Yan Zuozuo didn't know how to face him. Seeing how good his relationship with Su Fei was now, she felt sad for her friend, but also felt that it was only right that everything returned to normal.

She pursed her lips, then pushed her shopping cart, ready to leave. But she hadn't gone far when she heard Wang Kaijun call her urgently, "Miss Yan, has Zixin contacted you recently? Where is she? Is she doing well?"

He searched everywhere he knew, even going to Fu Zixin's hometown, but he couldn't find her. He knew he was married and shouldn't bother her anymore. But he just wanted to know if she was doing well, even if it was just from afar.

Yan Zuozuo turned to look at him, then at Sophie not far away, and said sarcastically, "What does it matter to you whether she's good or bad?"

A man who has his wife by his side but is thinking about another woman, regardless of whether she knows him or not, is utterly despicable. If a man can't be devoted to one woman, he shouldn't make promises lightly; if he makes a promise and then can't keep it, he's worse than a pig.

Wang Kaijun was clearly at a loss, and his eyes were filled with sadness as he looked at Yan Zuozuo. "I just want to know if she's okay."

"Kaijun." Sophie ran over, and when she saw Yan Zuozuo, she was also stunned, and a hint of wariness appeared in her eyes.

Yan Zuozuo glanced at them indifferently, then turned and left.

“Miss Yan…” Wang Kaijun wanted to step forward, but Su Fei grabbed his arm. He looked down at her, a bitter look flashing in his eyes, “Su Fei, is this really okay for us?”

Sophie stared at him intently, her face cold. "Since I've wasted my youth on you, you'll have to repay me for the rest of your life, whether you like it or not."

Wang Kaijun lowered his eyes and said nothing more.

Yan Zuozuo was only thinking about walking forward and didn't notice the person pushing the cart in front of her. She bumped right into them and quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..."

"Zuo Zuo?" The other person was pleasantly surprised to see her.

Yan Zuozuo hadn't expected to run into Su Kang here. She looked at him excitedly, "Weren't you in Africa? Why are you back? Where's Zixin? Did she say when she'd be back?"

Su Kang chuckled softly: "Take your time, I can't answer you like this."

Yan Zuozuo realized she had lost her composure and chuckled. Then she heard Su Kang say, "I'm back to handle some things, and I'll be leaving again in a few days. As for Zixin, she's doing well, and if nothing unexpected happens, she'll be back soon."

"Really?" Yan Zuozuo was happy to hear that her friend was coming back, but she quickly complained, "I don't know what that girl is doing all day long. She doesn't answer my calls. She deserves a beating."

Su Kang smiled but didn't reply, instead saying, "It's working hours now, are you out buying groceries?"

Speaking of this, Yan Zuozuo gave an awkward laugh, "I resigned."

Su Kang was somewhat surprised and subconsciously asked, "Why?"

Yan Zuozuo pushed the cart, picking up groceries as she said nonchalantly, "I want to change the environment."

Su Kang raised an eyebrow, finding it hard to believe, but didn't ask any further questions. As the two finished shopping and were about to pay, they saw Wang Kaijun and Su Fei approaching. Wang Kaijun opened his mouth several times as if to speak, but ultimately said nothing.

Yan Zuozuo pretended not to see anything, pushed her cart, paid, and left. Even after leaving the supermarket, she still felt uneasy. They were already married and deeply in love; why pretend to be kind? How hypocritical!

She strode forward angrily, when suddenly someone grabbed her arm. Turning around, she saw Wang Kaijun panting heavily, as if he had run after her. "Miss Yan, things aren't what they seem. Please, tell me where Zixin is, okay?"

Yan Zuozuo found it ridiculous and coldly said, "Zixin is doing very well and doesn't need your concern." After saying that, she saw Su Fei chasing after her, mercilessly mocking, "Please don't be so hypocritical in the future."

When Sophie arrived, she overheard this and frowned. "Miss Yan, please watch your words. It was Fu Zixin who was the third party, what right do you have to talk about our Kaijun like that?"

Yan Zuozuo sneered, her eyes, which seemed to see right through people, staring straight at Su Fei. "You're even more hypocritical. I'm not Zixin. You don't need to put on an act in front of me."

Sophie opened her mouth to retort, but then heard Wang Kaijun snap, "Shut up!"

Sophie glared at Yan Zuozuo with resentment, while Yan Zuozuo just looked at them with mockery.

Su Kang happened to arrive at that moment, and Su Fei immediately threw herself into his arms, her eyes instantly filled with tears. "Brother, you have to stand up for me! This woman is bullying me..."

Yan Zuozuo was taken aback, then suddenly narrowed her eyes, a surge of anger rising from her feeling deceived. "You're her brother?"

Su Kang had a bad feeling and quickly explained, "Zuo Zuo, don't overthink it, it's not like that..."

"Aren't you her brother?" Yan Zuozuo's sarcastic question left Su Kang speechless for a moment.

Sophie immediately wrapped her arms around Su Kang's, a malicious glint in her eyes: "He's my brother, and he's only with Fu Zixin for my sake..."

"Sophie!" Su Kang growled, rubbing his forehead. He had no idea when his sister had become so wicked. He looked up at Yan Zuozuo and saw her face contorted with resentment, as if she wanted to smash what she was holding in his face.

Although Yan Zuozuo was furious, she forced herself to calm down, staring intently at Su Kang, and asked seriously, "You really agreed to Su Fei's request to deliberately get close to Zixin for her sake?"

Su Kang was speechless. He had agreed to Su Fei's request to get close to Fu Zixin. But the real reason was that he had liked Fu Zixin for a long time. When Su Fei told him that Fu Zixin was the one who ruined her marriage with Wang Kaijun and asked for his help, he agreed without hesitation. It wasn't entirely because of Su Fei, but because he genuinely couldn't forget Fu Zixin.

"I think I understand." Yan Zuozuo looked at him mockingly, then turned and left.

Su Kang was about to chase after Yan Zuozuo, but Su Fei stopped him. Su Kang shoved her aside, glaring sharply at Su Fei, "I can't believe my sister has become so vicious!"

Sophie looked at Su Kang in shock, as if she couldn't believe he would say such a thing about him.

In the evening, Chi Moqing returned home and smelled the aroma of food as soon as he entered the house. He smiled, changed his shoes and went to the kitchen, where he saw Yan Zuozuo's busy little figure.

Yan Zuozuo heard the voice, turned around and smiled at him, "You're back?"

Chi Moqing nodded: "Do you need any help?"

"No need, go wash your hands and eat right away." She still had a smile on her face, but Chi Moqing felt that something was off.

Yan Zuozuo felt guilty under his gaze and pushed him toward the bathroom, saying, "Hurry up, it's almost time to eat."

When Chi Moqing came out after washing his hands, he saw four dishes and a soup, which looked good and smelled delicious. Yan Zuozuo gave him the rice she had served and sat down opposite him.

Chi Moqing suddenly felt like a king, and with a flourish, he picked up a small yellow croaker, a hint of appreciation flashing in his eyes. "Not bad." He looked up at Yan Zuozuo, only to see her staring at him with wide, watery eyes, as if waiting for him to say something. After a pause, he continued, "Very delicious, it has the feel of a restaurant."

Yan Zuozuo was amused by him: "You should say it tastes like Mom's. I specifically called Mom to ask her about it."

"Thank you for your hard work, honey." Chi Moqing smiled. "Why did you prepare dinner so early today?"

Yan Zuozuo lowered her eyes, a hint of sadness flashing in them. She pursed her lips, and after a long while, she finally spoke, "I quit my job."

Chi Moqing wasn't surprised at all. From what she said last night, he vaguely understood what she meant. Resigning was inevitable, but he didn't expect her to do it so quickly.

He chuckled, "It's good that she resigned. I can't bear to see my wife suffer under someone else's thumb." The acquisition of Fan Hua Construction is already underway, and he will naturally settle accounts with those who dared to bully his wife!
