Exclusive Pampered Wife: My Wife Came to My Door

Chapter 59 Cai Qingqing's Provocation

Yan Zuozuo hated her own soft heart, and as a result, she couldn't get out of bed the next day, feeling like her bones were broken. She seriously doubted whether Chi Moqing was truly drunk or faking it last night; otherwise, how could he have acted so recklessly?

When she got up, Chi Moqing had already left, saying he had something to do at the company. He left a message for her on the dining table: "Heat up your breakfast before you eat it."

She smiled slightly, stretched, and walked towards the kitchen.

After breakfast, she remembered Fu Zixin talking about going to Africa, so she quickly called her to ask if the selection had been finalized and if she had been chosen.

"Okay, we'll be leaving in three days." Fu Zixin's voice sounded quite energetic, which reassured Yan Zuozuo a little. "Want to go shopping? I've been busy lately and haven't been out for a long time."

"I'm afraid I can't come back in the next few days. I need to pack some things and take care of other matters." After a pause, she said, "Wait for me to come back. Remember to treat me to a welcome-back dinner."

I don't know if it's just my imagination, but I always feel that Fu Zixin has a sense of vicissitude in her voice.

"Then I'll come find you, and see if there's anything I can do to help."

“I can manage on my own, Zuo Zuo. I want to experience a completely independent life and not have to worry about anything.”

To some extent, Fu Zixin was resolute; if she wanted to be alone, she absolutely wouldn't allow anyone to interfere. Yan Zuozuo was also helpless in the face of her stubbornness.

She paused for a moment, then asked, "Wang Kaijun contacted you again?"

Fu Zixin smiled and said, "No, I heard that Sophie almost had a miscarriage for some reason. He should be with her."

Yan Zuozuo remained silent for a long while before slowly speaking, "I don't know what else to say. Have a safe journey."

Knowing that her mind was made up, Yan Zuozuo didn't say anything more and could only respect her decision. After that day, she thought about it and realized that perhaps leaving was the best option for dealing with Zixin—to start over in a different place. When she returned, she was once again the lively and positive Fu Zixin.

Yan Zuozuo was bored at home alone and decided to go out for a walk. Unexpectedly, as soon as she stepped out, she saw Lu Yaoyuan standing at the door, looking like he was about to knock. Upon seeing Yan Zuozuo, Lu Yaoyuan rushed over and hugged her, crying, "Sister-in-law, you have to stand up for me! Chi Moqing is so bad, he's a really bad person."

Yan Zuozuo was at a loss, blinking blankly. "You, you let go first, calm down, and slowly tell me what happened."

Lu Yaoyuan scrambled onto the sofa and burst into tears, “He actually maliciously made Chi Ran give me a hard time, that’s too much, too much, it’s just too much…”

"Why?" Yan Zuozuo felt that Lu Yaoyuan must have somehow offended Chi Moqing, which led him to do this to him.

"It's all because of you, sister-in-law. I swear, I really didn't mean any harm. Chi Moqing, you can't do this!" Lu Yaoyuan began to complain about Chi Moqing's cunning. After listening, Yan Zuozuo couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"Sister-in-law, even you are laughing at me." Lu Yaoyuan felt wronged.

"Okay, okay, it's my fault. I'll discuss this with him, don't worry," Yan Zuozuo said, suppressing a laugh.

"Swear it." Lu Yaoyuan looked at Yan Zuozuo pitifully. Yan Zuozuo sighed, "Okay, I'll call him now and tell him, but I can't guarantee he'll listen to me."

"Yes, yes, Chi Moqing is a henpecked husband now. Sister-in-law, hurry up and hit him." Lu Yaoyuan looked at her with bright, eager eyes, while Yan Zuozuo shook her head with amusement.

Chi Moqing was surprised that Yan Zuozuo would call him. Upon hearing her voice, a smile involuntarily appeared on his lips. "Zuozuo."

"Did I disturb your work?" Yan Zuozuo asked.

"No, I just finished a meeting. Is there anything I can help you with?" Chi Moqing smiled.

"It's nothing, I just didn't see you this morning..."

Lu Yaoyuan cried, and the two of them started their long, lovey-dovey phone conversation again. He was so anxious he kept scratching the wall, "Get to the point!"

After chatting for a while, Yan Zuozuo said, "Stop teasing Lu Yaoyuan, I think he's going crazy."

Chi Moqing raised an eyebrow: "He went to see you?"

"Hmm." Yan Zuozuo smiled, finding Lu Yaoyuan's grateful expression quite amusing.

Just as Chi Moqing hung up on Yan Zuozuo, her assistant came in and said that the villa was already renovated and they only needed to choose furniture before moving in. Chi Moqing's eyes darted around, and she quickly called Lu Yaoyuan, "I'll leave the furniture for my new house to you. You and Zuozuo are in the same industry, and you've seen her work, so you should know her preferred style. If you handle this well, I promise I won't let Chi Ran make things difficult for you anymore. Be good, I'll give you three days."

Lu Yaoyuan was completely dumbfounded: "Who's going to pay for that?"

"Can you really call it pursuing a wife if you don't go to great lengths?" Chi Moqing said with a guilty look on his face.

Lu Yaoyuan gritted his teeth in hatred. He knew Chi Moqing was a ruthless bastard who would devour people without spitting out the bones. He was truly too cruel. Just look at his house, with his standards, the furniture alone must have cost over a million. How vicious!

Yan Zuozuo invited Lu Yaoyuan to eat at her home. As Lu Yaoyuan ate the delicious food, he couldn't help but sigh. Come to think of it, he had once harbored feelings for Yan Zuozuo, but before he could act on them, Chi Moqing had completely crushed his hopes. Now, thinking about it, life truly is full of surprises.

"I'm really envious and jealous of Mo Qing. He married a beautiful and virtuous wife. Unlike Chi Ran, who's a total tigress," Lu Yaoyuan snorted, but in his heart he was thinking that he would ask Chi Mo Qing for some tips on how to win over a wife one day, so that he could win Chi Ran over in one fell swoop.

Yan Zuozuo smiled and said, "You'd better watch out or I'll tell on you."

“My sister-in-law is the most upright person. She’s nothing like that cunning old wolf, Chi Moqing.” After a pause, Lu Yaoyuan asked curiously, “How do you two get along? I see that you and Moqing are very loving.”

How did they get along?

Yan Zuozuo recalled Chi Moqing's madness last night, and her face turned bright red. She quickly shook her head and said guiltily, "Just like everyone else. Okay, okay, I have nothing to say. Tell me about you and Chi Ran, when are you planning to get married?"

When this topic came up, Lu Yaoyuan was completely stumped. He hadn't even won her over yet, so how could he get married?

"Be more considerate. Women need to be coaxed. If you always go against her, even if she likes you, she'll never admit it," Yan Zuozuo said irritably after listening to their love-hate relationship.

Lu Yaoyuan stroked his chin, thinking it made a lot of sense, "I'll try it next time."

Seeing that the walk was far, Yan Zuozuo noticed that the refrigerator was almost empty and decided to go to the supermarket to buy some food. Pushing her cart, she remembered the stomach-friendly vegetables her mother had told her about and carefully selected each one. She picked them out meticulously, and a smile involuntarily crept onto her lips as she recalled the satisfied expression on Chi Moqing's face as he ate them.

However, her smile didn't last long. Because, directly opposite her, Cai Qingqing was also buying groceries, pushing a shopping cart.

Seeing Yan Zuozuo, she walked over with a smile. She was dressed casually, her long hair tied up high, looking youthful and beautiful. Reaching Yan Zuozuo's side, she said gracefully, "What a coincidence?"

Yan Zuozuo nodded, her smile distant. After what had happened, she couldn't bring herself to like Cai Qingqing at all.

"Is this for Mo Qing?" She glanced at the vegetables in Yan Zuozuo's cart, feigning surprise. "You've been married to Mo Qing for so long, and you didn't even know he doesn't like corn or spinach? And cabbage too, Mo Qing doesn't like that either. You're really a terrible wife." As she spoke, she took a few vegetables from the shelf and placed them in Yan Zuozuo's cart, smiling as she said, "These are what Mo Qing likes, Mrs. Chi, you'd better remember that in the future."

Yan Zuozuo felt very uncomfortable listening to this; Cai Qingqing was clearly provoking her. She angrily put the vegetables back on the shelf and said with a faint smile, "Sometimes you can't always go along with him. Men are like children; you can indulge them when they're good to them, but you have to force them to give up what's bad. Like these vegetables that aren't suitable for dinner, you absolutely can't let him eat them."

Cai Qingqing paused for a moment, then laughed and said, "If two people have different tastes in food, it's really hard to imagine them living together for a lifetime."

Yan Zuozuo stared at her intently, a smile playing on her lips. "It has nothing to do with taste, but with his health. A person with high blood pressure likes to eat a lot of meat and fish. Miss Cai, do you want to give it to him or not?"

Cai Qingqing shrugged: "I've been with Mo Qing for over ten years, and I know very well how healthy he is. Sometimes, you can't be too selfish. Trying to force someone to forget the past by deliberately changing their habits will only backfire."

Yan Zuozuo was never one to argue, but she was genuinely angry at Cai Qingqing's repeated provocations. She raised an eyebrow. "Mo Qing told me that his past, present, and future all belong to me. I don't think he needs to forget them."

"Is that so?" Cai Qingqing smiled faintly, her gaze towards Yan Zuozuo unusually sharp.

"Yes, I think I've bought all the groceries for today. Miss Cai, please continue. I'll head back now." She glanced at the time and said, seemingly to herself, "Mo Qing is going home. I'll make spinach tonight..."

Cai Qingqing stared at Yan Zuozuo's departing figure, her smile unchanged, but her grip on the stroller tightened, and even her fingertips turned pale.

Yan Zuozuo knew she shouldn't argue with Cai Qingqing, but she still felt sullen. She went home and cooked, spitefully making all the things Chi Moqing didn't like, and it was basically a hodgepodge, with no deliciousness whatsoever.

He doesn't eat spinach, so he stir-fries it; he doesn't eat cabbage, so he stir-fries it with vinegar; he doesn't eat corn, so he insists on putting it in his porridge. Four dishes and a soup, all of which Chi Moqing dislikes.

As soon as Chi Moqing got home, he smelled an unappetizing aroma. Normally, Yan Zuozuo's cooking skills would have improved a lot under Yan's mother's guidance during this time, so this shouldn't be the case.

He walked into the restaurant and saw Yan Zuozuo bringing out the food. He frowned slightly, wondering if he had offended his wife somehow. Why were all the dishes boiled in plain water, and none of them were to his liking?

He silently went to wash his hands, and when he returned, he saw that Yan Zuozuo had already served the food. A smile appeared on his lips, "Thank you for your hard work, my wife."

Yan Zuozuo snorted, still feeling uncomfortable thinking about Cai Qingqing's words. "Let's eat."

Chi Moqing found it difficult to put down his chopsticks, but in the end he still picked up a little of everything and put it in his bowl, chewing slowly. Yan Zuozuo didn't miss his expression, bit her lip, and deliberately scooped a large spoonful of corn from the porridge for him, "Try it."

Chi Moqing was still smiling, but the strong smell of corn made him frown. He swallowed it anyway, and smiled, "My wife is so considerate today, did something good happen?"

Yan Zuozuo didn't speak, shook her head, put down her chopsticks, and walked to the sofa. She curled up in the corner, looking dejected.
