Shocking Secrets of the Celestial Realm

Chapter 13 Ye Lan's Perception

The ancient temple gates slowly opened, and an ancient and mysterious aura rushed out, as if whispering from the depths of time, beckoning Jasmine, Lin Qing, Ye Lan, and Qin Feng to step into the unknown.

Ye Lan stood before the door, taking a deep breath. Her eyes held both worry for her master and a yearning for the truth. That familiar aura emanated from within the temple, growing stronger with each passing moment, like an invisible hand drawing her in.

"Everyone be careful, who knows what dangers are lurking in this temple." Lin Qing held his long sword, his expression solemn. His eyes scanned the surroundings warily, not missing any corner that might be hiding danger.

Jasmine gripped the bead fragment tightly in her hand and nodded slightly: "Whatever is inside, we'll face it together." The bead fragment felt slightly warm in her hand, as if responding to the unknown that was about to come.

Qin Feng flexed his wrists, ready to open a spatial rift to deal with any emergencies: "I want to see what secrets this temple holds that so many people covet it."

The four slowly stepped into the temple. The interior was dark and silent, with luminous gems embedded in the walls emitting a faint light that barely illuminated the path ahead. The ground was covered with strange symbols and patterns, as if telling a story of a forgotten history.

Suddenly, a thick fog surged in from all directions, instantly enveloping them. This fog was different from the one they had encountered in the Spirit Forest; it was colder and carried a suffocating sense of oppression.

"Oh no, there's something wrong with this fog!" Lin Qing immediately circulated his qi and blood, forming a faint red halo around his body to resist the fog's erosion.

Qin Feng attempted to open a spatial rift, but the mist seemed to have an even stronger power to devour space. As soon as his spatial rift appeared, it was quickly swallowed up by the mist, leaving not even a trace.

"What should we do?" Qin Feng said anxiously, his face showing an unprecedented seriousness.

Ye Lan closed her eyes, concentrated her mind, and, relying on her keen perception of natural elements, tried to explore the secrets of the mist. Her hair swayed gently with the movement of the mist, and the surrounding natural elements began to stir under her guidance.

“I can sense it. There’s a special energy flow hidden in the fog,” Ye Lan said slowly. Her voice was calm, but it carried a hint of surprise. “If we follow the direction of the energy flow, we might be able to find a way to break through this fog.”

Jasmine and Lin Qing exchanged a glance and nodded slightly. In this unknown predicament, Ye Lan's perception ability became their only hope.

“Okay, we’ll follow you,” Jasmine said, following closely behind Ye Lan. The fragments of beads in her hand shimmered faintly, as if guiding them.

The four of them moved cautiously through the fog, each step taken with extreme care. Strange sounds came from time to time, like whispers or the roars of some mysterious creature, sending chills down their spines.

As they advanced, the fog seemed to thicken, and the oppressive feeling grew stronger. Lin Qing's blood shield began to crack under the erosion of the fog, forcing him to increase his power output to maintain the shield's stability.

"Hang in there, everyone. I feel like we're close to finding the source of the energy flow," Ye Lan said through gritted teeth. Fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, clearly indicating that she had expended a great deal of energy maintaining her perception of the natural elements.

Just then, a huge black shadow suddenly appeared ahead. The shadow was indistinct in the mist, its exact shape unclear, but one could sense the powerful aura it emanated.

"What is that?" Qin Feng exclaimed in terror, his hands clenching involuntarily, ready to defend against any possible attack.

Lin Qing held his longsword horizontally in front of him, his eyes fixed on the dark figure: "No matter what it is, we cannot back down."

Ye Lan also tensed up, but she didn't stop sensing the natural elements. She discovered that the dark figure seemed to be closely connected to the energy flow within the mist.

"Don't panic, everyone. This dark figure might be the key to the energy flow," Ye Lan said. She slowly walked forward, trying to get closer to the dark figure and explore its mysteries.

Just as Ye Lan was about to approach the shadowy figure, it suddenly moved. Its body slowly unfolded, revealing a pair of enormous wings and a pair of eyes that shimmered with red light.

“This is… a guardian beast!” Jasmine exclaimed in surprise. She had seen similar records of guardian beasts in ancient books, which usually guarded important secrets or treasures.

The guardian beast let out a deafening roar, the powerful sound waves impacting the surrounding mist and nearly knocking the four of them off their feet. It flapped its enormous wings and swooped down on them.

"Get out of the way!" Lin Qing shouted, quickly pulling Ye Lan and Jasmine aside. Qin Feng opened a brief spatial rift, attempting to draw the guardian beast's attack into it, but the rift was instantly destroyed by the mist and the guardian beast's power.

The guardian beast's attacks grew increasingly fierce; its claws and wings carried immense power, each swing unleashing a gust of wind. Lin Qing circulated his qi and blood, unleashing sharp sword qi in an attempt to block the guardian beast's attacks, but the sword qi was easily neutralized the moment it touched the beast.

Ye Lan knew she couldn't just passively take the beating. She focused her mind and manipulated the surrounding natural elements. Under her control, the water element transformed into countless sharp ice spikes, shooting towards the guardian beast; the wind element formed a powerful airflow, attempting to disrupt the guardian beast's movements.

The guardian beast was struck by the ice spikes and let out an angry roar, but its defense was extremely strong, and the ice spikes only left some shallow marks on its body.

"This guardian beast's defense is too strong!" Ye Lan said anxiously, a hint of despair in her eyes.

Just then, Jasmine suddenly noticed that the guardian beast's eyes would have a brief opening when attacking. She concentrated her microscopic energy, condensing it into a powerful energy blast, and shot it towards the guardian beast's eyes.

The guardian beast sensed the danger and tried to dodge, but Jasmine's energy attack was extremely fast. One of the guardian beast's eyes was hit, and it let out a painful scream as its body began to sway.

"Now!" Lin Qing shouted, concentrating all his vital energy into his longsword and charging towards the guardian beast. Qin Feng also opened a spatial rift, channeling spatial power into Lin Qing's longsword, enhancing its power.

Ye Lan then channeled natural elements to aid Lin Qing's attack. Under the combined assault of the three, the guardian beast's defenses were finally breached, and its body slowly collapsed, raising a huge cloud of dust.

The four men breathed a sigh of relief and collapsed to the ground. Their bodies were exhausted, but their hearts were filled with the joy of victory.

"Finally, we defeated it," Jasmine said weakly, a relieved smile on her face.

"But the fog hasn't dissipated yet," Lin Qing said, looking around. The fog was still thick, and their predicament was not completely over.

Ye Lan stood up and focused her mind once again to perceive the natural elements. She discovered that after the guardian beast fell, the energy flow within the mist had changed.

“I sense the source of the energy flow is not far ahead,” Ye Lan said, her eyes regaining hope. “Let’s keep going.”

The four stood up and continued moving forward in the direction of the energy flow. After struggling through the fog for some time, they finally saw an object emitting a soft light.

"What is that?" Qin Feng asked curiously.

Jasmine stepped forward and examined the object closely. She discovered that it was a huge crystal, seemingly containing endless energy, and the energy flow in the mist was emanating from it.

“I think this crystal might be the key to breaking the fog,” Jasmine said, slowly reaching out to touch the crystal.

The moment her hand touched the crystal, it suddenly emitted a brilliant light, which spread outwards like a powerful force. The mist quickly dissipated under the light, and everything around her became clear.

The four looked at the scene before them in astonishment. They were in a huge circular hall, the walls of which were covered with mysterious symbols and patterns. In the center was a huge stone platform, on which something seemed to be placed.

“There must be a secret of the Spirit Forest hidden in this hall,” Jasmine said, her eyes filled with anticipation. “Let’s go see what’s on the stone platform.”

The four of them slowly walked toward the stone platform. As they approached, they discovered an ancient book and a bead radiating multicolored light on the platform.

"This is..." Ye Lan said in surprise, her eyes fixed on the bead, a strange sense of familiarity welling up in her heart.

Jasmine picked up the ancient book, its cover adorned with strange symbols. She gently opened it, and the words inside instantly came into view. Yet, these words seemed to possess a life of their own, constantly shifting and changing before her eyes.

"The words in this book are changing!" Jasmine exclaimed in surprise.

Lin Qing and Qin Feng also came over, looking at the constantly changing text, their hearts filled with doubt.

Just then, Ye Lan suddenly felt the five-colored bead calling to her. Involuntarily, she reached out and touched the bead. Instantly, a powerful surge of memories flooded her mind; she witnessed a shocking secret about the Spirit Forest and the mysteries of the human body…
