Thanos didn't want to be a villain.

Chapter 87 God of War Series - Winning Over Allies

"Judging from this, it shouldn't be the group from the Main God Space." Dio used the system to scan.

"Don't think too much about it. I'm very lucky. How did I run into those people from the Main God Space so suddenly?" Hela shrugged, gave the main seat to Dio, and went inside to check on Kratos.

After all, she hadn't had a chance to fully enjoy the fight before being ambushed, and she really wanted to have a proper battle!

"Sit down." Dio used his telekinesis to move two stone stools.

Lincoln, unsuspecting, plopped down on the chair.

Dio sat down next to Lincoln and said, "Let me introduce myself. My name is Dio. I am a transmigrator who transmigrated into the Marvel universe of American comics and became the newborn Thanos."

Lincoln was stunned for a moment, then exclaimed in surprise, "Holy crap! Thanos? Don't try to fool me! In all the American comic book fanfiction I've read, there are very few characters who transmigrate into Thanos, and most of them are more like the movie version. You..."

Lincoln pointed at Dio, who was over two meters tall, with a robust build, and whose skin was not purple, nor did he have that signature upturned chin; he even had hair!

"To be honest, if it weren't for the fact that your armor fits you so well, I would have thought you were an emperor from the Warhammer world who had traveled here." Lincoln was still surprised, but his tone had relaxed considerably.

“Really? I’ve thought about that too. If I actually find the Warhammer universe and go inside, and then appear on the battlefield, will the Astronauts and Astartes think that the Emperor has left the palace?” Dio laughed and joked.

Lincoln smiled, feeling somewhat relieved now that he was also a time traveler.

"My name is Lincoln. Your system should have it written that I transmigrated into the world of a slice-of-life anime. It should have been a peaceful life, but I don't know what happened. This system not only prevented me from becoming a plagiarist, but it also forced me to transmigrate through worlds to complete missions. Although there is no elimination mechanism, but..." Lincoln became more and more agitated as he spoke, and his voice trailed off at the end.

"Hey bro, have you ever played video games? You mean computer games?" Lincoln asked, rubbing the back of his head.

Dio nodded. "What boy doesn't like playing video games?"

“Every time I do a mission, I watch the mission list complete one by one and get the rewards, just like unlocking achievements and leveling up in a game. If I fail, all the rewards I got this time are wiped out, and then I'm kicked out of the world,” Lincoln explained.

"Being stuck in this limbo is making me feel so frustrated."

Lincoln grimaced and complained.

Dio nodded; he could certainly empathize with that feeling.

Yeah, it really is quite uncomfortable.

"So that's your excuse for slacking off?" Dio looked Lincoln up and down.

Lincoln was indeed very strong, but he had the air of a working-class person who wanted to slack off.

Dio recognized this quality very well, because he was like that too.

He couldn't remember his past life clearly, after all, it had been more than two thousand years, but he still remembered that habit of slacking off, which he must have done at his workstation in his past life.

Dio, realizing he'd been overthinking things, turned to Lincoln and asked, "By the way, what mission do you have this time?"

"You know the storyline of God of War 5: Ragnarok, right?" Lincoln asked.

Dio nodded. He knew about the game, but not the plot. He learned about the game's plot from the memories of other transmigrators.

Lincoln gave an OK sign and said, "It'll probably be over after we destroy Odin."

Dio nodded. Unlike him, he only had the God of War 4 storyline, which was basically just helping Kratos kill the few gods blocking his way.

Wait, no, shouldn't we kill Badr first?

Dio suddenly remembered that he had already dismembered Baldr, so now was the perfect time. He used the mistletoe to break the magic on Baldr, and in his current state, he would die instantly!

"My mission also says I can't disrupt the main plot too much. Aside from some side quests that can be refreshed, Kratos has to follow the main storyline on his own." Lincoln glanced at his system and added, "What about you guys?"

Dio paused, halting his thoughts of killing Badr.

We've finally encountered a time traveler; we can't let him get away so easily.

Silently using his telekinesis to transport Baldr's body back from various parts of the Nine Realms, he said calmly, "My task is simply to complete the God of War 4 storyline, which is similar to your requirements."

He then added, "Are you going to stay here the whole time? Until the mission is over?"

“No need for that,” Lincoln said, scratching his head.

"I can pause the mission and leave this world, but time won't stop. However, if I miss the mission's start time and come back in, I might be kicked out by the system instantly."

Dio nodded to indicate that he understood.

"Do your systems have any requirements for re-entering worlds that have already been visited?" Dio suddenly asked.

Lincoln thought about it and it seemed he didn't have any requests.

"The system once told me that the cosmic bubbles in the multiverse are not always in one place; they all move, just at different speeds."

"However, the system can help me place something like a signal tower in the worlds I've been to, which can receive signals from the universe I want to go to in the multiverse and transmit them."

Dio nodded knowingly.

"Then could I ask you to come to my world and help me?"

Dio finally revealed his true intentions.

"...Your world? The Marvel universe?"

Lincoln initially thought he was being transported to a game world with the same name, but then he realized that the person in front of him was a fellow countryman who had transmigrated into Thanos's body.

That must be the Marvel universe he belongs to.

Faced with Dio's affirmation, Lincoln thought for a moment and said, "What would I do there? Don't tell me you want to develop the tourism industry to get my first customer."

“The multiverse is in crisis, I need more allies!” Dio explained.

Lincoln paused for a moment, as if the Marvel Cinematic Universe was indeed planning a multiverse crisis, while his slice-of-life anime world did not have such popcorn superhero movies.

Therefore, Lincoln didn't know much; before time travel, he only knew that they seemed to have brought back the dead characters.

"You can consider it. It's fine if you don't go. There are so many universes out there. I can easily find some more," Dio comforted her.

Lincoln said there seemed to be something wrong with that statement.

After thinking for a moment, Lincoln nodded. He also wanted to go over there and see what those so-called superheroes were like.

“That’s not bad either. Then I can be like other time-traveling predecessors, racing cars and playing with supermodels with Iron Man, fighting with Captain America, and arm wrestling with Hulk!” Lincoln smiled, looking forward to his future life.

Dio's smile froze. It seemed... he couldn't do it, could he?
