Chapter 6 Victory
The battle had reached a fever pitch, or rather, a fierce, intense struggle.
Dio slashed at Hela with his sword, and Hela could only passively defend herself with Thor's hammer or occasionally throw a sword at her.
But none of this could shake Dio, nor could it break his skin.
The fight between the two men numbed those around them, as they could hear nothing but the constant clanging of metal against metal, and their movements perfectly matched the nature of blacksmithing. The onlookers would likely never forget the sound that seemed to resonate in their brains for days.
Because they were in Asgard, Hela's energy wouldn't be diminished even after fighting for thirty to fifty days. Dio was the same; he didn't feel the slightest bit tired, but the continuous slashing still made him a little impatient. Looking at Hela, who was still full of fighting spirit, Dio wanted to finish the battle quickly.
I have just learned about Hela's basic physical attributes. She is not as strong or fast as him, even with the blessing of Asgard.
However, the duration is unclear, because Hela's blessing from the land of Asgard is very long-lasting, so it is unknown.
With a renewed sense of confidence, Dio suddenly unleashed a powerful blow with one hand, catching Hela off guard. He ducked low, and as Hela staggered, his eyes focused with intense energy, splattering it across her face. Caught off guard, Hela reacted swiftly, twisting her body as she was sent flying into the air and hurling Thor's hammer. A deafening roar erupted, and lightning bolts, like silver serpents, danced around the hammer as it hurtled towards Dio.
Dio dared not hold back, unleashing his full power. Enveloped in scorching energy, Dio not only dodged Thor's hammer attack but also instantly appeared in front of Hela, who had just regained her footing. He punched her in the head, slamming her to the ground, and then pressed the tip of his Floating Blade against Hela's neck.
"The outcome is decided, Princess Hela, you must keep your promise," Dio said calmly, looking at the stunned Hela.
The Asgardians watching stopped cheering, their faces filled with disbelief. Princess Hela had actually been defeated?
Hela was completely bewildered. She didn't understand why they were evenly matched at the beginning, but now she was suddenly defeated.
Feeling the faint pain in her nose and head, Hela realized that this was not a dream; she had lost.
When was the last time I was knocked to the ground? It seems like it was when I was a child and my father pinned me to the ground and scolded me.
Hela snapped out of her daze, wiped the blood from her nose, and said calmly, "Don't worry, the Asgardians won't break their promise. I'll take you to Nidavellir later. You can let your brother go first."
Dio nodded, sheathed the floating blade and put it back at his waist, then walked toward Eros.
Golden Palace.
Odin sat on his throne with his eyes closed, feigning sleep, listening to his men recount the battle between Dio and Hela.
"Hela actually lost? And so quickly?" Odin was somewhat surprised. Hela, like him, possessed the power of Asgard, and by standing on Asgardian land, she would receive Asgard's protection.
This can be understood as Odin and Hela constantly absorbing Asgard's energy to replenish themselves as they stand on the earth, which amplifies their speed, strength, reaction ability, and even their divine power.
Its recovery ability is frightening, and its damage is also high.
But even so, Hela still lost.
Odin pondered for a moment. In the past few years, due to the frenzied expansion, he and Asgard had gone on a killing spree. Hela was the most severely affected and kept instigating her subordinates to volunteer to attack the entire universe.
Being defeated by an outsider can be used to dampen Hela's spirits, which is a good thing for both Hela and Asgard.
"But wouldn't it be too much of a price to have the Nidavellir dwarves help forge an artifact?" Odin thought of Hela's bet.
The current Odin is at the height of his power, possessing both cunning and courage, unlike the Odin of later years.
However, Hela didn't give Odin time to think before a guard reported that Hela and Dio had crossed the Rainbow Bridge to Nidavellir.
Odin thought for a moment. Dio was able to defeat Hela in Asgard, so he must be quite powerful. Although it wasn't time to seek allies outside to resolve Ragnarok, every extra one would be beneficial.
And Hela should probably settle down and find a partner...
Hela was unaware that her father's divergent thinking had already begun to find her a companion; she and Dio had now arrived in Nidawi.
Dio looked around. Nidavellir, just like in the movie, was a ring surrounding a star core. The ring had two layers, but Dio did not see any facilities needed for living.
This should just be a place for work; the dwarves should live somewhere else.
“This is the newly crowned Dwarf King, Aetre. You can tell him what you want to be made,” Hela said, pointing to a young dwarf holding a hammer.
Dio slightly raised his eyes; these "dwarfs" weren't much shorter than him.
Dio thought for a moment and then took out the floating blade.
Etri glanced at Hela and Dio, then continued hammering the red-hot iron block in his hand.
Once the red color on the iron block faded and the block had slightly set, it was placed back into the furnace.
At this moment, Ettrium turned to face Dios and the other man.
"Greetings, Your Highness Princess Hela. May I ask what brings you here?" Ete bowed and greeted her.
Hela didn't mind that Ete didn't bow to her immediately, but instead explained her purpose again. Only then did Ete look at Dio.
Dio handed over the floating blade at his waist.
"I want to replace this knife with a more robust material without affecting its other functions," Dio stated his request.
Eitri examined the Floating Blade closely, then picked it up and exclaimed in surprise, "This blade is an exquisite work of art! If it weren't for the material, it would definitely be comparable to Thor's hammer!"
"but...…"
Eitri first excitedly praised the knife's power, then his tone shifted abruptly.
This one, however, made Dio's heart inexplicably jump.
"Who modified this knife? Although the modification wasn't ideal, it was only so-so." Ettri stroked the blade and continued, "But it doesn't matter. Since you want to change to a sturdier material, my highest authority is only to change it to a gold alloy. What do you think?"
Dio thought for a moment. He knew this metal; it was an ultra-high hardness alloy of osmium and other metals in a certain ratio.
Moreover, its energy conduction is also quite strong.
But Dio also wanted Uru metal.
Eitri was troubled after hearing this. Uru metal is a magical metal produced in Asgard, and its hardness and energy conductivity are among the best in the universe.
However, if Uru metal is to be used to forge armor and weapons, the God-King must personally give the order before these dwarves dare to use it. Otherwise, anyone who dares to melt and forge it casually will be killed!
Now Hela was in a dilemma. Her face felt a little hot, but don't misunderstand, it was from embarrassment.
She had boasted that Dio could choose freely, but now the options were restricted, and Hela felt she couldn't fulfill her promise.
"And what about me? What is my highest level of authority?" Hela asked, patting Etri's wrist.
Aitri looked at Hela respectfully and said, "Princess Hela, your authority allows you to use Uru metal, but you cannot forge weapons."
"King Odin has restricted your use of Uru metal, which means you can only forge armor at most; forget about weapons."
Hela was overjoyed to hear that she could use Uru metal, but she didn't pay attention to what Etri said next.
“In that case, let’s melt the Uru metal into it and engrave these runes on it.” As she spoke, Hela pointed to several runes on her Mjolnir.
Eitri was now in a dilemma; Hela had put him in a position to commit a capital offense!
"Stop dawdling and putting all the blame on me. Asgardians have to keep their promises!" Hela waved her hand, telling Etri to get on with it.
Ai Cui looked troubled, but considering the other party's infamous reputation, he gritted his teeth and did it anyway.
