The Journey to Godhood in Another World

Chapter 3 First Meeting with Song Hui

The door creaked open gently. A handsome little boy skipped and hopped in like a cheerful little sparrow.

His eyes were bright and sparkling, and his cheeks were rosy, making him look like a cute little angel.

As soon as the little boy saw Luo Li open her eyes, his eyes instantly lit up like two little stars. He ran to the bedside in a few steps, took Luo Li's hand, and said in a clear and loud voice, "Sister, you're awake! Nan Nan is so happy! Nan Nan was so worried about you."

Immediately afterwards, a gentle lady slowly walked in. She was elegant, with a kind face and eyes full of gratitude.

She walked to Luo Li's bedside, bowed slightly, and said softly, "Young lady, I'm Nan Nan's mother, my name is Song Hui. This is my business card; you can call me Aunt Song. We are so grateful to you for saving Nan Nan. When we saw the light suddenly fall, you rushed over without hesitation to protect Nan Nan. Our whole family is extremely grateful to you. We can't imagine what would have happened without you. You are a great benefactor to our family." As she spoke, she gently patted Luo Li's hand, placed the business card in Luo Li's hand, and her eyes were full of concern and tenderness.

Luo Li took Song Hui's business card and said, "I'll still call you Sister Hui. You're too young, I can't bring myself to call you Auntie."

Song Hui took a few steps forward, approaching the hospital bed, her face filled with sincere gratitude. She gently took out a bank card from her bag and handed it to Luo Li, saying, "Miss, take it as you like. We've already paid your medical bills at the hospital. There's three million in here. There's no PIN, so please take it. Although it's not a lot of money, it's a small token of our appreciation."

Just as Luo Li was about to refuse, Song Hui gently pressed her hand and continued, "We came here from Shanghai to visit relatives. You see, we're unfamiliar with this place, and if it weren't for you, Nan Nan would have suffered terribly. This three million yuan is really nothing. If you ever have the chance to go to Shanghai in the future, be sure to contact us, and our whole family will definitely treat you well."

At this point, a hint of apology flashed in Song Hui's eyes. She paused for a moment and said, "Nan Nan's father has some urgent business at his company, so he has to go back today. We're also going back to Shanghai tomorrow. You're still not fully recovered and need someone to take care of you. I've already hired a caregiver for you, so just focus on getting better."

Luo Li was deeply moved by Song Hui's words. She had only acted instinctively to save the child, never expecting such a reward. Looking at the bank card, she hesitated and said, "Sister Hui, I can't accept this money. I only did what I was supposed to do."

Song Hui firmly pressed the bank card into Luo Li's hand, saying, "Miss, you must accept it. This isn't just about the money; it's about our gratitude. If you don't accept it, we'll feel bad."

Holding the bank card, tears welled in Luo Li's eyes. She said gratefully, "Thank you, Sister Hui."

Song Hui smiled, patted Luo Li's head as if she were her own child, and said, "We should be thanking you. You should rest well, young lady. We'll be going now." After saying that, she took the little boy's hand and slowly walked out of the ward.

Luo Li gently stroked the bank card and carefully placed it in the bedside cabinet, as if she were placing an extremely precious treasure.

Her movements were gentle and slow, and her eyes still held a complex emotion that had not yet dissipated, a mixture of gratitude for Song Hui's family and bewilderment at the unexpected gift.

After settling the money, Luo Li felt a wave of exhaustion wash over her. She slowly adjusted her position to make herself more comfortable, and then gently closed her eyes.

Her eyelashes fluttered slightly, as if bidding a brief farewell to the world, before she fell into a deep sleep, her breathing gradually becoming even and gentle, as if she wanted to forget all her fatigue and unease in her dreams.
