The strongest astral army in Warhammer 40K
Chapter 39 Evil Batman
Conrad, Kurtz, a son of the God-Emperor, master of the Eighth Legion, an embodiment of cruelty and terror, a pathetic wretch, a contemptible "traitor"!
"Haha, shiny toys are all talk and no action."
"Get out here, you traitor!" Jerry Leon roared, his psionic energy surging wildly, and bolts of lightning flashed all around them, illuminating the surroundings as bright as day.
A dark shadow flashed by, followed by two screams. The throats of two Kadian warriors were slit, and blood flowed continuously from between their fingers.
Extremely tense, Russell roared wildly and unleashed a barrage of fire from his Fire Kirin. As soon as he fired, all the Space Marines opened fire, lasers shooting wildly in all directions. Some tense Space Marines couldn't help but fire as well.
"Cease fire!" Van Grey roared.
His voice was deafening, making Russell's ears ring.
Russell stopped firing; his heart was pounding, and his heavy breathing made him dizzy.
"Afraid? Hehe, I am the embodiment of darkness, the representative of death. You should be afraid."
After the "ghost's" voice disappeared, the surroundings fell into a deathly silence once again.
Van Grey directed the Space Marines to split up and search.
"Don't miss a single corner!" Van Grey commanded.
The Space Marines began searching room by room, and they searched very carefully.
Time ticked by, but the Ghosts did not launch another attack, and the Space Marines' search yielded no results.
A game of hunter and prey begins. The hunter is very patient; he can hide in dark corners for years or even decades, while the prey searches for the hunter's tracks.
"Ah!" Another scream rang out as another Astragalus soldier's throat was slit.
Two Space Marines rushed out and brandished their chainsaw swords wildly, but there was nothing in the shadows.
Screams rose and fell incessantly as Space Marines were killed one by one with their throats slit, unable to escape their fate of being slaughtered despite being with the Space Marines.
"Everyone, move closer!" Borg commanded the Astral Army with a tense expression.
Although the Star Guardians were all gathered together, they still could not escape their fate of being slaughtered.
The shadows kept flashing and the Astral Army soldiers kept screaming in agony, their numbers dwindling from 500 to 300, then from 300 to 100.
Van Grey simply couldn't bear the sight of the Star Guardians dying.
"Protect the Star Guardians in the middle!" Van Grey commanded.
The Space Marines quickly formed a defensive perimeter, surrounding the Asgardian Army.
"Hehehe, the lackeys of the false emperor are so hypocritical. You can't even protect yourselves, yet you want to protect these mortals." The ghost continued to mock and ridicule.
Van Grey remained unmoved, his eyes fixed on the darkness.
Jerry and Leon used their spiritual power to sense everything.
He finally sensed the location where the "ghost" was hiding, and although the aura was very faint, he still managed to detect it.
Jerry and Leon whispered to Van Grey: "About 12 meters away, on the right side."
Van Grey immediately rushed out 12 meters. He only needed two steps to reach the designated position, his power sword dancing in a ball of blue light.
Jerry and Leon charged in opposite directions, their double-headed eagle power staffs slamming into a spot.
Jerry and Leon deliberately gave Van Grey the wrong location, while they rushed to the correct one themselves. Van Grey's main purpose in rushing up was to attract the enemy's attention. Jerry and Leon had already prepared their killing move.
What did the double-headed eagle power stick hit? With a loud "thud," a huge black shadow flew out and crashed into a wall.
Five Space Marines rushed forward, slashing at the enemy with five chainsaw swords from various angles.
The Lord of Midnight, hidden in the shadows, finally revealed his true colors.
Despite facing five Space Marines, the Midnight Lord remained unfazed, raising his power claws to meet the challenge.
The Space Marines were fast, but the Midnight Lord was even faster; each of his attacks left a trail of afterimages.
With a clang, all five chainsaw swords were deflected, and then the Midnight Lord vanished into the darkness.
"Hahahaha, those silver toys hurt you. I've already told you they're the False Emperor's powerful lackeys, but you wouldn't listen. Is it worth it to kill a few ordinary humans?"
"You're a coward! Why didn't you help me while I was fighting them!"
"Help? There are five hundred glittering toys here. We are hunters and need patience."
Jerry and Leon suddenly felt a tremendous danger approaching.
He instinctively raised his double-headed eagle power staff to block, and a jet-black claw appeared above his head.
"You're asking for death!" Jerry and Leon roared, and a ball of silver lightning exploded, illuminating the surroundings as if it were daytime. The true face of the Midnight Lord was finally revealed to everyone.
Russell also saw through the true nature of the Midnight Lord.
This ghostly Midnight Lord wore a finely crafted power armor. Unlike other armors that focused on defense, this armor eliminated all speed-impairing features. Both the shoulder and chest armors were designed to be smaller, but there were many meaningless little wings, especially on the helmet, which had five small wings in total: one on the top of the head and two on each side.
Russell thought they were more like black bats.
The Midnight Lord does indeed have a nickname: "Evil Batman".
Fire Kirin fired several shots at the Midnight Lord, but all the lasers missed, because the Midnight Lord had already engaged Jerry and Leon in battle.
Russell only saw a dark figure fighting a battle priest. The battle priest's power staff flew up and down, blocking left and right, while Russell was forced to retreat repeatedly.
The Midnight Lord was so fast that even Jerry and Leon were having trouble keeping up.
"I'm here to help you!" Van Grey lunged forward, raising his power sword to slash at the dark figure.
The three were locked in combat, and both Jerry, Leon, and Van Grey could sense the approximate location of the Midnight Lord.
However, their attacks were all blocked by the Midnight Lord.
The other Space Marines were unable to intervene in their battle and could only stand by and watch.
Russell was even less capable; he couldn't even see how the three of them were fighting.
Another midnight lord seized the opportunity and rushed in from the darkness, fighting left and right, leaving blood splattered and corpses strewn everywhere, with screams echoing incessantly.
Russell had just felt a gust of evil wind and immediately dropped to the ground. The three Cadian warriors beside him were instantly torn to shreds by the Midnight Lord. Luckily, Russell had taken cover beforehand, or he would have suffered the same fate.
