Chapter 339: The God of War "Carleon"
Carrion's white wings gleamed blindingly in the blasphemous light of the Chaos Lord. His power sword, "Divine Judgment," streaked through the air with a silver light, its blade pulsating with holy runes. The demon lord—a five-meter-tall monster covered in bronze and flesh—let out a deafening roar, corrosive slime dripping from its power claws, burning black smoke into the rocks.
"Little angel," the demon lord's voice sounded like countless insects crawling on my eardrums, "your wings will soon become my spoils."
Carleon did not respond, his gaze as cold as ice. His wings unfurled suddenly, and he charged towards his enemy like a white lightning bolt. The demon lord's power claw swept across, creating a gust of bloody wind, but Carleon was faster—his power sword precisely parried the attack, sparks flying as the blade clashed with the claw.
"You've talked too much nonsense," Carleon's voice was deep and powerful, "your head will become a sacrifice for the Emperor."
The demon lord let out a savage laugh, and the blasphemous rune on its chest suddenly lit up, spewing a stream of putrid green pus from its mouth. Carrion swiftly sidestepped, his wings folding into a shield; the pus splattered on his wings, making a sizzling, corrosive sound, but the super angel warrior's armor remained completely still.
"Is that all you've got?" Carrion's lips curled into a slight sneer. He swung his power sword down with a sudden, powerful strike, the runes on the blade bursting forth with dazzling golden light. A crack appeared in the demon lord's bronze breastplate, and green blood gushed out.
The demon lord let out a painful howl, wildly swinging its power claws in an attempt to force Carrion back. But the super angel warrior moved with steady and swift steps, each of his attacks precise and accurate, his blade leaving deep wounds on the enemy's armor.
"Your god cannot save you," Carleon's voice tolled like a judgment bell, "your fate was already sealed."
The demon lord's blasphemous runes suddenly erupted with blinding light, its body began to swell, and the flesh beneath its skin churned like boiling water. Karion knew this was the enemy's last stand—it was attempting to summon a more powerful demon by sacrificing itself.
"I won't give you that chance," Carrion's wings suddenly unfurled, his figure like a white lightning bolt, his power sword piercing straight for the demon lord's heart. The blade pierced through the bronze armor and into the tentacled second heart.
The demon lord's body stiffened, and the light of the blasphemous runes quickly dimmed. Its power claws hung limply, and green blood gushed from its wounds. Carrion's blade churned within the enemy's chest, and golden flames erupted from the demon lord's seven orifices, incinerating its body to ashes.
"For the Emperor," Carrion drew his power sword, the runes on its blade still gleaming with golden light. His white wings fluttered gently in the wind, and his armor, stained with the blood of his enemies, shone with a divine radiance in the sunlight.
In the distance, Russell watched all of this. A slight smile played on his lips as he said, "Well done, Carleon." Russell patted the Super Angel Warrior on the shoulder, the entrenching tool "Blood Drinker" twirling gently in his hand. "You know what? I have a hundred more warriors like you."
Carleon folded his wings, his four-meter-tall frame leaning slightly forward, his voice low and calm: "This is merely my duty, my lord. The Demon Lord is but a minor figure."
Russell's smile deepened. He turned to look at the distant horizon, where a dark cloud was slowly gathering. Arya's psionic staff suddenly glowed faintly, and her voice echoed in Russell's mind: "The power of chaos is gathering; a more powerful enemy is approaching."
"What do we do next, sir?" Carleon asked, his tone completely flat, as if the battle just now was nothing more than routine training.
Russell paused for a moment, his fingers lightly tapping the handle of the "Blood Drinker's" shovel. His gaze swept across the battlefield—the Super Angel warriors were clearing away the wreckage, while the Primal Blood Angels were repairing their defenses. Every warrior moved with perfect order, as if the battle that had just taken place was merely a warm-up.
"We'll wait," Russell finally spoke, his voice tinged with coldness, "The Demon Lord is just the beginning. Chaos won't easily give up the Alpha system; even more powerful enemies will arrive soon."
Carleon nodded, his white wings slightly unfurling: "Do we need to strengthen our defenses?"
"No," Russell shook his head, a meaningful smile playing on his lips. "Let them come. We will let Chaos know that Alpha Galaxy is no longer their paradise. Whether it's a demon prince or a Chaos Warmaster, we will make sure they don't leave alive."
Arya walked to Russell's side, her psionic light flashing in her eyes: "My psionic barrier covers the entire planet; no warp fluctuation can escape my perception."
"Very well," Russell gripped the Blood Drinker tightly, his gaze fixed on the distant stars. "Let the fleets of Chaos come, let their demonic engines come. We will forge an insurmountable line of defense for the Empire here, with their blood and fear."
A glint of fighting spirit flashed in Carleon's eyes, and the blade of his power sword trembled slightly: "For the Emperor."
"For the Emperor," Russell repeated softly, then turned and walked towards the command post. "Notify all warriors to prepare for the next battle. We must let Chaos know that the angels of Alpha have spread their golden wings."
On the horizon of Alpha-1, dark clouds gathered into a storm. The forces of chaos were closing in, but Russell and his warriors were ready. No matter how powerful the enemy, no matter how brutal the battle, they would defend the future of the Empire with their blood and honor.
