Chapter 338: Devastating the Broom

Chapter 338: Devastating the Broom

As dawn broke over the planet Baal, golden sunlight bathed the assembly grounds of the Golden Wings. Russell stood on the high platform, his gaze sweeping over the warriors below—a hundred Super Angel warriors stood like mountains, their white wings gleaming with a divine light in the morning glow; the Primal Blood Angel warriors stood in neat rows, their crimson armor etched with ancient blood oath runes.

"Brothers," Russell's voice resounded throughout the arena via the psionic amplifier, "today, we will march on the Alpha system. It was once our territory, but now it is overrun by Chaos and Xenomorphs. We will reclaim it, not for glory, but for the future of the Empire!"

The warriors shouted in unison: "For the Emperor! For the Wings of Holy Blood!"

Beside Russell stood Carleon—the first super angel warrior created, and Russell's most capable assistant. Carleon was nearly four meters tall, his white wings folded behind him, the blade of his power sword gleaming coldly. His voice was deep and powerful: "Lord Russell, my brothers and I are ready. The Alpha system will reclaim its dominion under our swords."

Russell nodded, then turned to Arya on the other side and said softly, "Arya," Russell said, "this expedition needs your strength. The chaos contamination of the Alpha system may affect our psionic communications, and your abilities will be key to our victory."

Arya smiled slightly, psionic light flowing around her: "Don't worry, Russell. I will make sure our communications are uninterrupted, and I will use my psionic power to clear any obstacles for you."

With the order given, the [Golden Wings] fleet ascended into space, heading towards the Alpha System. Russell stood on the flagship's command platform, gazing at the target that gradually magnified on the star map. The Alpha System had once been an important stronghold of the Blood Angels Chapter, but now it had been occupied by the forces of Chaos. The surfaces of the planets there were covered with blasphemous runes, and Chaos cultists and alien creatures roamed the ruins.

“The first planet in the Alpha system is Alpha-1,” Carleon said, pointing to the holographic projection. “According to reconnaissance reports, there is a Chaos Fortress there, which is home to a large number of traitors and demon engines.”

Russell gripped the Bloodthirster shovel in his hand, his gaze resolute: "Let's start with Alpha-1. We'll let Chaos know that their rule is over."

As the Golden Wings warships entered Alpha-1's orbit, the Chaos Fortress's anti-aircraft fire immediately opened fire. However, the Super Angel warriors' Stormhawk gunships broke through the defenses like lightning, landing on the planet's surface. Russell, Carleon, and Arya led their warriors in a charge towards the Chaos Fortress.

"For the Emperor!" Russell's roar echoed across the battlefield. His Bloodthirster shovel cleaved open the chest of a Chaos cultist, golden psionic energy burning the enemy's flesh to ashes.

Carleon unfurled his white wings, the blade of his power sword slicing through the air with a silver light. Each swing of his sword brought forth a shower of blood; the Chaos Terminator was as fragile as paper before his power.

Arya stood at the rear of the battlefield, her psionic staff raised high, its crystal radiating a dazzling light. Her psionic power formed a barrier, blocking the Chaos sorcerer's curse. Simultaneously, her voice echoed across the battlefield via the psionic network: "Warriors, maintain formation! The power of Chaos is waning!"

The battle raged for hours until the Chaos Fortress's defenses finally crumbled. Russell stood atop the fortress's highest point, planting his "Blood Drinker" entrenching tool into the ground, announcing victory. Carleon's white wings were stained with enemy blood, but his gaze remained resolute. Arya walked to Russell's side, psionic energy gleaming in her eyes.

“This is just the beginning,” Russell said in a low voice. “There are many more planets in the Alpha system waiting for us to reclaim.”

Carleon nodded: "No matter how many enemies lie ahead, we will fight to the end."

Arya smiled slightly, her face illuminated by the light of psychic energy: "I will always be by your side, Russell. No matter what challenges lie ahead, we will face them together."

…………

After completely conquering the planet, Russell did not continue to attack other planets, knowing that eliminating the threat of Chaos was not something that could be done overnight.

On the crimson desert of Alpha-1, twelve Void Shield generators hummed low. Russell crouched behind the metal bunker of the temporary command post, the tip of his entrenching tool, the Blood Drinker, dug into the ground, the gravel crackling softly under the scorching golden psionic energy. Arya's psionic barrier enveloped the entire outpost, keeping out the spying of Chaos magic.

"They've arrived." Carleon's white wings suddenly unfurled, his four-meter-tall form obscuring the starlight. At the edge of the horizon, a rift in the warp was seeping a viscous, asphalt-like substance, and three raiding ships flying the Khorne skull flag tore through the veil of reality.

Russell licked his chapped lips, the data stream of the defense array flickering on his tactical goggles. He could see the bulging spore sacs in the bellies of each raider—the most vicious landing pods of the Iron Warriors, crammed with war beasts blessed by Chaos.

34;Activate the minefield. 34;As the first wave of spore sacs began to fall, Russell's order was instantly transmitted throughout the army via the psionic network. Hundreds of bulges suddenly rose across the desert as Mephisto's specially designed anti-armor mines burst from the ground, these explosive shells inlaid with holy blood runes weaving a web of death in mid-air.

Seventy-two purple-green fireballs exploded in the sky, but more than thirty spore sacs still slammed heavily onto the ground. Carrion's bomb gun roared first, and the snow-white wings of the Super Angel Warriors stirred up a sandstorm. Their movements as they leaped across the trenches were as graceful as a dance, but when their power swords severed the hydraulic joints of the Chaos Iron Beasts, they were more ferocious than butchers.

Arya's psionic staff suddenly burst forth with a blinding light: "Three o'clock! They're summoning the Blood Crusher!" Before the words were even finished, crimson fissures split open in the ground, and eight demonic engines, pieced together from brass and flesh, burst forth from the earth. These Khorne creations spewed skull-shaped flames from their exhaust pipes, and their tracks melted even the rock beneath their feet.

Russell drew his "Fire Kirin" shovel with a backhand motion, the laser beam scorching the observation window of the demon engine. As the nearest engine raised its crushing drill, he lunged forward, the "Blood Drinker" shovel blade precisely wedging into the track gaps. Golden psionic energy flowed into the machine through the ancient runes on the shovel, and the demon engine suddenly emitted a shrill scream like a baby's cry, large chunks of toothed flesh bursting from between the gears.

"Their lord is at the altar in the northeast!" Arya screamed, her nose bleeding, as her psionic energy battled against something remotely. Russell turned and saw Carleon's wings burning—not metaphorically, but real warp fire, but the super soldier seemed oblivious, even smiling as his oil-splattered face pierced the energy core of the last Warbeast with his power sword.

The Chaos Lord finally appeared. This five-meter-tall monster wore a crown woven from nine hundred and ninety-nine eyeballs, and the entrails of a Blood Angel recruit were still stuck to its power claws. As the blasphemous runes written in its Nurgle pustule began to glow, acid rain suddenly fell across the entire battlefield.
