The strongest astral army in Warhammer 40K
Chapter 18 The Silver Knight
Suddenly, a dark cloud appeared in the sky and rolled in this direction.
This was certainly not a dark cloud, but thousands of gargoyles, the aerial units of the Gargoyle Zerg. They looked similar to the Gun Bugs, except they had two more wings. The fatal thing was that they could also shoot. Fortunately, they were not very intelligent and preferred to shoot at low altitudes, which gave the Astragalus Army an opportunity to counterattack.
“Look, flying insects?” Zog pointed to the sky to alert the Astronauts.
"Ah!" A burly man from Qatar raised a heavy machine gun and unleashed a barrage of fire.
Russell also raised the Fire Kirin and began firing at the gargoyles in the sky, each shot killing a gargoyle.
The threat from the sky was greater, and many Star Guardians began to raise their laser guns and fire at the gargoyles in the sky.
Commissar Kane, his face grim, shouted: "Ignore them, they are not your target. Keep moving forward."
Five Thunder fighter jets roared in and unleashed their full firepower on the gargoyles. Faced with the fighter jets, the gargoyles had no chance to fight back and were all hit and fell.
Russell's face turned somewhat grim, and he cursed inwardly: This is not giving me a chance! His original plan was to accumulate some carapace by relying on gargoyles, but now it seems that there is no chance at all.
The further they advanced, the greater the pressure the Astragalus faced, and the insectoids' counterattacks became increasingly fierce. Fortunately, the insectoids did not deploy their elite insectoids.
"Commissar Kane, the insects have completely surrounded us!"
"Don't worry about them firing at full speed, the Space Marines will be here soon!" Commissar Kane roared.
As he spoke, he picked up his sidearm, a small explosive pistol.
The situation became increasingly urgent, and Russell stopped conserving his bullets and began firing at full speed.
Commissar Kane roared as he opened fire: "Advance at all costs! As long as we can destroy the overlord of the hive, the insects will naturally scatter!"
After advancing a further distance, the Astronauts' firepower became sparse and could no longer stop the swarming insects.
Bladeworms climbed atop several Rhino Tanks, but they showed no interest in these metal lumps and instead leaped toward the Astronauts.
The knife worm's defense isn't great, but its combat power is absolutely formidable.
"Ah!" a Star Guardian soldier screamed as half of his body was severed.
Several Star Guardians quickly raised their laser guns and fired, riddling the Bladebugs with bullets before they could dodge.
"Quickly, gather together, don't run around!" Commissar Kane shouted as he fired his gun.
The situation deteriorated rapidly. Countless blade insects leaped into the crowd and hacked wildly. Screams rose and fell incessantly, limbs flew everywhere, and blood splattered all over the ground. At this point, it would be very difficult for the Astronauts to regroup.
Russell kept firing as he rushed to Commissar Kane's side and said, "Commissar Kane, try to get out of here. If this continues, we'll all die here."
Commissar Kane roared: "We are the people of Cardia, and we will never back down!"
Just then, five Thunder fighters roared in and unleashed a barrage of fire on the insects below. The fighters quickly cleared a clearing, and the Star Forces seized the opportunity to assemble.
"Build a defensive formation and hold out until the Space Marines arrive."
Under Commissar Kane's orders, the Rhino Tanks and Armored Vehicles formed a circle, and the entire Astragalus Army concentrated inside and opened fire on the outside.
"Commissar Kane, we've run out of ammunition and need to go back to resupply."
Commissar Kane's communicator picked up the voice of the Thunder fighter pilot.
Thunder fighters without ammunition are of little use on the battlefield.
"Equip your ammunition and come to our aid quickly; the situation here is extremely critical."
"Copy that, sir."
The Thunder fighter jet roared away.
Without the firepower support of the Thunder Fighter, the insects charged forward once again.
"Fire!"
There was a burst of gunfire.
Russell had used up six batteries and killed more than two hundred insects, but the insects still kept swarming in endlessly. No matter how many they shot, the insects seemed impossible to kill completely.
The Catachan hunks had run out of ammunition, and these crazy guys were all wielding heavy weapons and hacking at the bugs.
The most upset person here was Commissar Kane. He had underestimated the Zerg. He thought that his two successful strategies had wiped out most of the Zerg, and he never expected that there were still so many. If he had known this, he would not have rashly brought the Astronauts here.
However, since things had come to this point, they had no choice but to fight to the death. Commissar Kane picked up a sword and shouted, "Long live the Emperor!"
Fear had already spread to the hearts of every Star Guardian soldier, but the words "Long live the Emperor" swept away their fear, and they all shouted: Long live the Emperor!
Russell's fighting spirit was also ignited. He fired his laser gun with his left hand and drew his entrenching tool with his right.
A knife-like insect charged at him from the side.
"Watch out!" a Star Guardian warned Russell.
Russell turned his head and saw the knife worm rushing towards him. Without thinking, he swung the Blood Drinker to meet the knife worm's forepaws.
The razor-sharp forepaws collided with the Blood Drinker, and a surprising scene unfolded: the Blood Drinker easily severed the worm's forepaws.
Russell was very excited. He knew very well how powerful the Blade Worm's forelegs were, which could be said to be no less than steel. Now that they had been easily cut off by the Blood Drinker, it was clear that the Blood Drinker had quietly changed and become exceptionally sharp.
Russell wasn't about to let this Blade Worm get away with it, so he raised the Blood Drinker and smashed it down on the Blade Worm.
The knife worm quickly raised its other forepaw to block, but the Blood Drinker severed the knife worm's forepaw and smashed its head in the process.
Zog, who happened to witness this, exclaimed in surprise: "How come your entrenching tool is so powerful? My greatsword is about to be cut in half by the blade worm!"
Before Russell could speak, another knife-like insect rushed up.
Several shooting stars suddenly appeared in the sky, descending with long trails of flame.
"Yes, Space Marine!" Commissar Kane shouted excitedly like a child upon seeing the drop pods.
"Long live the Emperor!" The survivors finally erupted in cheers.
After a loud "boom", a large crater was smashed into the ground, and more than a dozen knife worms were smashed into mincemeat before they could dodge.
The iron door of the drop pod slowly opened, and a silver-armored giant walked out. He was three meters tall, wearing finely crafted ceramic steel armor, with a jump pack on his back, a giant chainsaw sword in his right hand, and a bomb gun in his left.
The rumbling sounds continued, and several other drop pods landed, from which the silver-armored giants emerged.
Finally, the Silver Knights' reinforcements arrived in full force, a total of six Space Marines, forming a tactical squad.
