Chapter 149 "Slaughtering the Dark Eldar"
System notification: The host has gained +5 Agility Power by slaying the "Dark Elf".
"The Spirit Race is different from other races. They have an extremely strong talent for agility and can acquire powerful agility without much training. Therefore, when the Blood Drinkers kill them, the talent they gain is far superior to that of other races."
The system's prompts and explanations were encouraging, but Russell felt no joy whatsoever as more Dark Eldar charged forward.
A blue space capsule suddenly fell from the sky and crashed heavily to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. Titus stepped out of it.
When the Dark Eldar discovered a spaceship landing in front of them, they stopped charging forward and stood still.
After Titus stepped out of the spaceship, the Blackbean people took a step back in unison. To them, the Space Marines were formidable enemies, and only the elite warriors of the tribe could fight them.
“He’s alone, we don’t need to be afraid,” said one of the Dark Elven.
“You guys keep this Space Marine occupied while I go kill all those mortals.”
About twenty Dark Eldar warriors charged toward Titus.
Titus sneered, drew his massive tactical sword from his waist, and faced the Dark Eldar warrior with a bomb gun in his left hand and the tactical sword in his right.
As he charged, the bomb guns opened fire instantly. The Dark Eldar may be agile, but the Space Marines' eyepieces were able to lock onto their targets and fire.
"Rat-a-tat-tat..." Titus fired repeatedly.
At least three Dark Eldar warriors were hit by the bombs and their bodies were blown to pieces.
The other dozen or so had already rushed in front of Titus, and countless sharp longswords were slashing at him.
As a veteran who had served for a century, Titus had experienced too many brutal battles. His opponents were many times stronger than these dark elves. Therefore, he did not take the enemy in front of him seriously at all.
The enhanced superhuman organs immediately took effect; his eyes became extremely sharp, and his senses were amplified by more than a thousand times. The movements of the dark elves appeared to him almost as if they were in slow motion.
Titus leaped into the air, brandishing his massive tactical blade. He didn't bother dodging the longswords slashing at him from the dark elves; he simply took them head-on. His new Mark 10 armor was perfectly capable of withstanding the blows of these weapons.
"Ah!..." At least three dark elves screamed as they were cleaved in two by tactical blades, their blood and entrails splattering all over the ground.
As for the longsword that slashed at the terracotta armor, it only left a few shallow marks on the armor.
Titus, who had killed three Dark Eldar warriors in a single exchange, did not continue fighting them but instead rushed toward Kayans and his group.
Five Eldar warriors were charging towards them. If they reached the Astragalus, all of them would die here, which was something Titus did not want to see.
The Dark Elves were fast, but the Titus were even faster; at 3.5 meters tall, each step they took covered twice the distance of the Eldar.
Titus quickly caught up with a dark elf, giving the elf no chance to react. With a swift swing of his tactical blade, the dark elf was killed before he could even scream, his head flying into the air.
Then, the explosive gun in his hand kept firing. The agile dark elf had no chance to dodge in front of the more agile and powerful Titus. He fired three shots and killed three dark elves. The last one tried to escape.
Titus immediately swung his tactical knife, which transformed into a beam of light and pierced directly through the dark elf's body.
The dark elf let out a painful roar and the corpse fell to the ground.
The remaining dark elves charged fearlessly at Titus.
Titus turned around quickly, firing continuously while drawing his heavy chainsaw sword from his waist.
"Titus's chainsaw sword was indeed larger and heavier than those used by other Space Marines; it was a dual-wielded, massive chainsaw sword."
Two more dark elves were shot dead, and the remaining dark elves charged at Titus once again.
This time they were smarter; the enemy's armor was too strong, so they had to find a weaker spot to kill them.
They might have been able to do it if it were any other ordinary Space Marine, but unfortunately they had no hope against Titus.
The massive chainsaw sword roared as it was started, its serrated teeth spinning wildly.
With a sharp "whoosh," the chainsaw sword traced a semicircle in the air.
The dark elves at the forefront tried to parry with their longswords, but their parries were futile against the immense power.
"Bang bang bang..." Dark elves flew around wildly.
Titus charged forward, brandishing his chainsaw once more as he looked at the few remaining dark elves.
Seeing that they were no match for the Dark Elves, they quickly retreated, thus avoiding Titus's chainsaw sword.
The bomb gun fired deadly bullets once again, killing several more dark elves.
The other dark elves quickly fled the area.
Unexpectedly, Titus did not chase after them. Instead, he put away his slug gun and chainsaw sword and went to Russell's side.
Russell struggled to stand up and said, "Sir."
Titus took off his helmet and waved his hand, saying: "No need to stand up. You did a great job. Did you kill that dark elf?"
Russell nodded and said: Yes.
“You are very strong that a mortal can kill a dark elf,” Titus praised.
Russell smiled wryly: "What I did is nothing. Just now you killed more than 20 dark elves in a few moments. That's what you call strong!"
Titus shook his head and said, "That's different. I am a Space Marine, and you are a mortal. Take care. More Dark Elves will be coming soon, and a tough battle awaits us."
After saying this, Titus turned and left, and Russell's gaze never left that majestic and tall figure.
"How are you feeling now?" Kayans asked.
Russell laughed: Much better, but unfortunately I'm afraid I don't have the strength to join the fight anymore.
"Next up is the battle of the Space Marines. We can only provide some firepower support. You should focus on recovering from your injuries."
Then, one airdrop pod after another was dropped, this time carrying twelve Extreme Warriors and two Redemption-type Dreadnoughts.
"Looks like I've escaped death again today!" Russell said with a wry smile.
Kayans remained silent, watching the Ultramarines and the massive Dreadnoughts descend, lost in thought.
Sure enough, more dark elves appeared, and they quickly approached the Ultramarines.
