The strongest astral army in Warhammer 40K

Chapter 14 Steel Legion's Bloodbath Against Insects

Every galaxy is protected by a Space Marine chapter, and the guardians of planet 009B are the Silver Knights chapter.

The Cataclysians are naturally wary of forests, and when they heard the news, they immediately sent people to monitor and investigate the area. They not only discovered the traces of the Zerg but also the Astral Army that had rashly intruded, which led to the subsequent rescue.

Upon returning to their base, Commissar Kane immediately convened a meeting with several other commissars to discuss how to deal with these Tyranid vanguards.

Commissar Kane, as the initiator, naturally expressed his opinion first.

“Although I have already requested support from the Silver Knights, I still suggest that we eliminate this Zerg before the support arrives. The Hive Will is receiving signals from this planet, and it has dispatched a Hive Fleet that is heading this way. The sooner these Zerg are eliminated, the better. Once these Zerg are eliminated, the Hive Fleet will lose its direction and stop coming this way.” Commissar Kane then glanced at everyone.

"Although we agree with Commissar Kane's idea, our strength is insufficient to eliminate these Zerg."

"I think so too. The Zerg are dangerous. If we can't eliminate them, they will turn around and eliminate us. To be on the safe side, we should wait for reinforcements."

“I agree with Commissar Kane’s opinion. The Zerg’s rate of devouring and evolution is terrifying. Now that they have been discovered, they will definitely devour the forest on a large scale to expand their strength. If we sit idly by, the Zerg will become more and more difficult to deal with.”

None of the political commissars were cowards. After a brief deliberation, they unanimously decided to eliminate the insectoids.

"Although everyone agrees, we are indeed not very strong right now and need more external assistance. There are many feudal empires in the world that can provide support."

"But they don't have modern weapons, only cold weapons."

"They do not have an advantage in weaponry, but they have an advantage in numbers. Besides, melee weapons can kill ordinary insects just as well. Their goal is only to help us kill those low-level insects. As for the elite insects, we need to deal with them ourselves."

The political commissars reached a consensus and began mobilizing the army.

No one dared to oppose "the Emperor's will" anywhere. The world's major human empires all sent large-scale reinforcements to come to their aid.

Russell made ample preparations for this battle, bringing dozens of explosive grenades and ten batteries for the Fire Kirin.

…………

Every commander is ruthless, and Commissar Kane is no exception.

A reconnaissance team appeared in the forest.

This team consists of only eight people, but their combat strength is by no means weak. They are all carefully selected experts.

As a reconnaissance squad, they could not wear heavy armor, only light scale armor underneath, green cloaks and hoods on top, a sharp scimitar hanging at their waist, and bows and arrows in their hands as they vigilantly observed their surroundings.

The lead investigator moved with light steps and elegant demeanor; every movement she made exuded agility, just like a leopard.

"Shh!" The scout captain put a slender finger to his lips to make a shushing gesture.

Everyone quickly dispersed and leaned against the tree trunk without making a sound, as if they had never been there at all.

The hunter became the prey. A licat appeared faintly on a tree branch, its eight eyes scanning the surroundings, but unfortunately, it did not find any enemy.

Instead, it was an investigator who discovered this behemoth.

She gestured to the captain, who looked up and also spotted the monster.

This was the first time she had ever seen such an ugly and terrifying creature.

The detective captain's heart began to pound violently. She forced herself to suppress her fear and managed to stop her heartbeat.

"Hiss!" Licard seemed to sense something and became agitated.

One of the scouts gestured to the captain, "We need to get rid of this monster, but how do we kill it?"

The scout captain pondered for a moment and gestured, saying: "It has eight eyes. We can shoot its eyes together."

All eight investigators nodded in unison.

The scout captain suddenly leaped out and fired an arrow at Licat.

The arrow made a sharp sound as it went straight for Licarte's eyes.

"Hiss!" Licarte roared and was about to pounce on the humans to kill them.

But the eight arrows were already in front of it, and Ricard had no way to dodge. The arrows shot directly into Ricard's eyes.

Licat screamed and fell from the tree.

The intense pain caused it to roll around wildly, its two huge front paws flailing about. Several large trees were struck by its paws and instantly snapped in two, crashing down with a thud.

Two licarts rushed towards them, but they only saw their crazed companion and no sign of the enemy.

The scout captain made an attack gesture once again; this time, their target was two Licats.

The scout captain leaped out once more and fired two arrows in quick succession, each flying towards one of the two licarts.

The scouts, like her, fired at the two licarts.

Both licarts screamed and fell from the tree.

Their eyes were all shot out, and they went berserk on the ground, attacking each other.

Four enormous front paws attacked each other, and another Ricard joined the melee, the three Ricards fighting in one place.

Soon the battlefield fell silent. The three Licats had perished together, all killed by their companion's forepaws.

The commotion attracted the attention of the Splitters, and thousands upon thousands of them surged forth like a tide.

The scout captain quickly climbed a tree to avoid the splitting worms' attack.

Splitters are not offensive units; they simply eat mindlessly, regardless of whether they are of the same kind or different kinds—they are all food to them.

The thousands of fissures quickly devoured the three lictorks and then left.

Only after the splitting worms had completely disappeared did the scout team dare to come down from the tree.

"Captain, should we go any further?"

Without hesitation, the captain said, "Let's go deeper. We need to find the insects' lair and then drop this off. The political commissar gave it to me."

A small, black box appeared in the captain's hand. What they didn't know was that it was a signal receiver. As long as they carried the receiver and appeared near the insect's hatching pool, an alarm would be set off, and a Destroyer missile would fly in and burn everything within a few miles to ashes, including them.

The scout team continued forward, moving nimbly through the forest.

“Captain, look.” A scout looked up at the sky.

The scout captain also looked up at the sky and saw a scene that made her scalp tingle: the sky was full of flying insects called "gargoyles".
