The strongest astral army in Warhammer 40K
Chapter 13: Each one more ferocious than the last.
Commissar Kane took out his communicator and said: "This is Kane. I have discovered traces of the Tyranids in World 009B. Please, Lord Van Grey, Chapter Commander of the Silver Knights, make preparations as soon as possible!"
Russell's battery finally ran out, and the last laser bullet killed a blade worm.
System notification: The host has killed 51 Zerg and obtained 51 insect carapace fragments, which can be combined into five insect carapaces. Does the host wish to combine them?
Russell immediately whispered: Synthesize.
"The insect's exoskeleton has been synthesized and automatically fitted onto the host."
"Insect carapaces are a form of invisible armor that increases the wearer's physical defense. Each insect carapace increases defense by 0.1."
From this perspective, the increase in defense from insect carapaces isn't that significant. However, the advantage is that it's cumulative; Russell currently has five sets of insect carapaces, meaning his defense has increased by 0.5.
Russell's battery ran out, and so did everyone else's. The bullets fired from the laser guns became increasingly sparse, and the blade worms quickly surrounded the Cardia commandos.
"Cardia, stand firm!" With things having come to this, there was no other way but to fight to the bitter end. Russell roared and pulled out the "Blood Drinker" entrenching tool.
A burst of machine gun fire rang out.
Six armored fighting vehicles sped toward them, each carrying two burly Qatari men operating a Gatling gun capable of firing thousands of rounds per minute.
"Oh, those are the members of the Cardia Commando Team ahead," Zog exclaimed as he fired at the insects.
Another muscular man from Qatar laughed: "They look disheveled, let's help them out."
The six Gatling guns quickly wiped out all the Zerg in front of the Cardia assault team.
"Get in the car!" Zog shouted.
Thousands upon thousands of knife-like insects, undeterred by death, charged forward despite the firepower of Gatling guns.
"Try this, you bugs!" a burly man from Qatar shouted, forcefully throwing a molten bomb in his hand.
This bomb was as big as a washbasin and it even had an automatic accelerator. When the strong man from Qatar threw it with all his might, the bomb would fly forward for several hundred meters on its own.
"Damn it, you threw it too close!" a burly man from Qatar yelled at the other Qatari man who was throwing the bomb.
With a deafening roar, a massive mushroom cloud rose into the sky, turning an area of hundreds of meters in radius into a charred wasteland.
Several armed combat vehicles were nearly overturned on the spot.
The dozen or so burly men of Qatar turned ashen-faced with fear, not of the insects but of the molten bomb.
After the last Cardia commando climbed onto the armored fighting vehicle.
"We need to get out of here!" the bald captain ordered.
The muscular men of Qatar turned their cars around and sped back in the direction they were heading.
The heavy Gatling gun continued to unleash deadly flames at the pursuing blade insects.
"I'm going to throw a molten metal bomb too!" Zog shouted excitedly.
"Then you'd better throw it farther," the bald captain reminded him.
"Just you wait and see!" Zog grabbed the molten bomb and swung his leg-like arm forward with all his might.
The thermal bomb flew hundreds of meters before exploding with a loud bang.
Russell was stunned by the explosion. It must have killed at least several thousand Blade Worms. It seemed that Zog's claim of killing a thousand Orcs was not an exaggeration and was actually quite understated.
The Qatari men believe that kills are achieved by killing people with tactical knives, not with bombs or Gatling guns.
Just as people burst into excited laughter.
Zog did something strange, grabbing a giant two-handed sword next to him and stabbing it into the air.
A spurt of blood erupted, revealing the true form of a gigantic worm.
"Watch out for Carter!"
The Licat mentioned here is a Zerg warrior capable of cloaking; not only can they become invisible, but their combat power is also far superior to that of the Bladebug.
"Come on, you bugs!" The burly men of Katachon picked up their bomb guns and fired wildly into the air.
Two plumes of blood mist flashed by, and two Ricards fell from the sky with a scream.
"Look, there's a warrior insect!" Zog said, pointing to a huge insect that had caught up with them.
The "Warrior Bug" is an elite combat unit of the Zerg, and also a powerful node creature with a hard carapace that cannot be penetrated by laser guns or even bomb guns, unless fired in large quantities.
The warrior insect is enormous, standing nearly three meters tall, with four sharp front claws, and its combat power is terrifying.
The warrior insect was extremely fast, and in just a few leaps it almost caught up with the armored combat vehicle.
"Damn it, let it taste our power!" the bald captain roared, firing his explosive gun wildly at the warrior insect.
The other Catachan men also fired all their bullets from their bomb guns at the Samurai Bug.
Although it cannot kill the warrior insect, it can slow down its speed.
The armored combat vehicle sped out of the forest, but the warrior insects showed no sign of letting them go and continued to pursue them relentlessly.
"Captain, the Samurai Insect has caught up! How do we kill it?!"
The bald captain chuckled and said, "Killing it isn't our mission. Leave that to those Oglins!"
Six massive Oglin warriors stood ready. These Oglins were the same ones Russell had seen the first time, heavily armored, equipped with heavy shields and riot batons.
Armored combat vehicles roared past, and the bald captain grinned and said, "Smart Boss, that big bug is yours."
The smart guy is also the captain of this Oglin squad.
Captain Eugene smiled and said: Leave it to me.
The warrior insect completely disregarded the six Oglins and pounced on them, but it would soon regret its actions.
"Smash it, you bug!" Captain Eugrim charged at the warrior bug, heavy shield in hand.
The two enormous creatures collided with a deafening roar.
The samurai insect slammed into the heavy shield with tremendous force, knocking it over.
Before the samurai insect could even get up, Captain Oglin raised the huge iron rod in his hand and smashed it down on the samurai insect's hind legs.
With a crack, the samurai worm's leg was broken, and the samurai worm screamed in pain.
The other five Oglins also surrounded it, raising their huge iron rods and pounding them on the samurai insect. The clanging and banging filled the air. Under such blows, not only the flesh-and-blood samurai insect, but even a piece of steel was smashed into iron filings.
The Warrior Bug's carapace on its back is extremely hard, but the armor on other parts of its body is not so good. When it was chasing the armored combat vehicle, it almost always used its carapace to face the Katachon men, which is why the bomb guns were not effective. Now, however, it is facing the Oglins with its abdomen.
After killing the Samurai Insect, Captain Oglin left with several Oglins, leaving only the corpse of the Samurai Insect, which was smashed beyond recognition.
