The Book Soul Chronicles: Godslayer

Chapter 30 The Battle Begins

Just as everyone around them found the entrance to the secret realm in all sorts of places.

As soon as one person entered, the entrance to the secret realm immediately closed. Many people coveted the same thing and started fighting, because no one wanted to fall behind. If they were a step too late, the opportunity might be snatched up by someone else.

The fighting began outside the secret realm, but none of it was fatal. After all, no one wanted to waste time there. If they could successfully launch a sneak attack, that would be even better. Since everyone else was a competitor, seeing their opponent injured would be of great benefit to them.

Even if you know there are many magical treasures and opportunities inside, that's just how people are; they just can't stand seeing others get good things, even if they themselves might not be able to get them.

Qingwu and his group avoided the fighting and chose to go elsewhere.

Qingwu flew ahead, then turned around and said, "The entrance to the secret realm is uncertain, and only one person can enter at a time. Let's split up and search."

Hao Anqi nodded, then turned his head and gestured to Chen Suili with his eyes before flying to the left.

Chen Suili didn't say anything, his face was stern, and he followed in the direction of his sect leader.

Seeing that they had left first, Qingwu looked at Yu Bingwen standing to the side. She thought that she had wanted to remind him this morning, but she was interrupted by that tactless old man Chen Suili. But no matter what, he was someone her senior brother had asked her to take care of.

Finally, Qingwu gave her some instructions: "When we get to the secret realm, the teleportation will definitely be random. We don't know where we'll be teleported to. Your master must have left you a lot of treasures. If you encounter danger, your life is much more important than those things. Just smash things, and make sure you survive so I can find you. Remember that?"

Seeing Qingwu so serious for the first time, Yu Bingwen felt a little uncomfortable, as if his uncle had been possessed. However, as the successor of the sect leader, he had been taught by his master to handle social situations over the years and was now able to react quickly and not show his thoughts on his face.

He immediately replied, "I will keep my uncle's instructions in mind and will be extra careful."

Qingwu nodded, took out a ring, and gave it to Yu Bingwen.

He said, "Take this with you. I can find you in the secret realm. Remember, don't take it off."

Although Yu Bingwen didn't know what the ring was for, he guessed it must be a magical artifact with tracking capabilities.

The reason I was so sure it was a spiritual treasure was because my martial aunt was a well-known money-grubber. She only had eyes for the best treasures. Although I didn't know where she got it from, it must be a good treasure!

Yu Bingwen took it and immediately put it on, after all, it was a life-saving item inside.

Seeing that he had put it on, Qingwu didn't say anything more, turned around, and flew forward.

Seeing this, Yu Bingwen also chose a direction to fly off in.

Yu Bingwen only knew that the ring on his hand was a good thing that his uncle had somehow gotten, and he had no idea that his uncle had taken it from his master.

When they later fell victim to the demons, he learned the origin of the item in his possession. He wished he could spit on his current self, lamenting the waste of such a precious treasure.

Of course, all of this is a story for another time.

At this moment, in the secret realm, Yu Bingwen looked at the dust on his clothes, his face full of black lines, and then looked at the little fat boy groaning on the ground and fell into deep thought.

Not long ago, after Yu Bingwen parted ways with his martial uncle, he arrived at an unknown corner at the foot of a mountain and happened to see two entrances to a secret realm.

Just as Yu Bingwen was about to go in, he felt a chill coming from behind. He moved to the side and barely dodged it.

Looking up, I saw that the attack had just passed directly above the entrance to the secret realm, leaving a deep scratch on the stone wall. The crack was dark, and the deepest part of the scratch was big enough for an adult man to lie down. You can imagine how powerful it was.

Yu Bingwen broke out in a cold sweat. If he hadn't reacted quickly, he might have been cut in two by that attack when he was caught off guard. Even with his magic weapon protecting him, he would probably have been injured.

He turned to look at the newcomer, who was burly and wielding a large knife. A scar ran across his right eye, and his eyes were filled with a fierce look. He wore a cold smile, and just one glance from him was enough to instill fear.

Yu Bingwen could sense the intense malevolence emanating from the other party at a glance, and immediately judged that the other party was a person who had experienced life and death and had tasted blood on the sword.

Yu Bingwen thought to himself, "This kind of person is extremely bloodthirsty and arrogant, ruthless, and acts without any room for maneuver. He is too dangerous." He immediately classified the scarred man into his category of dangerous people.

He then silently analyzed the situation: "His strength is almost a whole realm above mine, and I also have various protective magic treasures given to me by my master. But even if I don't die, I'll be badly injured. Cross-realm battles are no joke; I can't confront him head-on."

Yu Bingwen made a decision immediately. He glanced around, wanting to find a more advantageous solution. He looked at another entrance not far behind him and had a plan in mind.

Then, hidden beneath his robe, he held a teleportation talisman in his right hand. However, this talisman was of low quality; he had studied it on his own in his spare time when he read books about talismans. The teleportation distance was short, but enough to get him to the entrance.

Furthermore, as soon as he senses danger, he immediately uses the talisman, and the opponent is almost certain that he cannot escape. Before they have time to react, he is more likely to succeed.

Having thought through his options, Yu Bingwen felt much calmer. He then put on a polite smile, lowered his posture, and spoke.

“Senior, I am here with my martial uncle to train outside the sect. It is my first time going out, and I have offended you in many ways. I hope you will forgive me.”

After speaking, he bowed, as if he had done something wrong and offended the other party. He made no mention of the other party's sneak attack, as if the dangerous situation had never happened.

Upon hearing Yu Bingwen's words, the other party's expression changed slightly, and they sized him up again. Two pieces of information were revealed in Yu Bingwen's reply.

The first opponent is a disciple of a certain sect. Judging from his cultivation level, it is his first time experiencing training. He must be a disciple that the sect is focusing on cultivating. He is likely a personal disciple. Therefore, his master is probably a powerful old monster.

Secondly, he had someone from the same sect, who was also his senior uncle, and his cultivation was quite impressive.

Regardless of whether what the other party said was true or false, there was no need for him to get entangled any further. If what the other party said was true, then dealing with him would only bring trouble upon himself. Even if what the other party said was false, judging from his cultivation level alone, he was only one realm lower than him, and he didn't know the other party's trump card. There was no need for him to take the risk.

Yu Bingwen had been observing the other party. What he just said was actually a test. He deliberately leaked information to the other party to see how they would react, and it was obviously just as he had expected.

Knowing that the other party was softening their stance, Yu Bingwen immediately tried to find a way for them to back down.

“Senior, there are two entrances to this secret realm. We are complete strangers, so there’s no need to waste time here. Senior, you can choose one to enter first, and I will enter from the remaining one, how about that?”

Yu Bingwen directly presented the other party with a true/false question, blocking their path to challenge him, and gave them a reason that they couldn't refuse.

Yu Kuangdao also admired this young man quite a bit. At such a young age, he had such cultivation and cunning. Most importantly, he had such courage and composure. It was rare to find such a person in this world. If he grew up, he would definitely become a powerful figure.

Yu Kuangdao's killing intent flashed, but there were more important things to do right now. He would enter the secret realm first, kill the person, and destroy the evidence. How would those sects know who did it?

Having made up his mind, he said, "Then I'll accept your kind intentions, lad. If we are destined to meet again, I will surely bestow upon you a great gift."

"Hahaha…"

Yu Kuangdao laughed maniacally as he flew towards the entrance of the secret realm.
