Chapter 293 Palpatine's Miscalculation

It's unclear when exactly, but a group of figures wearing unidentified breathing masks and with minimal armor quietly appeared in the attacking force of the council.

At first glance, these figures resemble female humans, but upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that they differ from ordinary humans.

These mysterious soldiers wield a weapon unlike any seen before, with astonishing power; once it hits a clone, it can instantly reduce them to ashes.

In contrast, the blaster in the clone's hand, though powerful, was ineffective against these enemies and could not inflict fatal damage.

Even more shockingly, some clone soldiers discovered that when their blaster hit their opponents, the skin and armor of these female human soldiers would automatically repair themselves at a visible speed, as if they possessed some kind of magical self-healing ability.

These female human soldiers, wearing unidentified breathing masks, are not only powerful in themselves, but also command the robot legion of the Independent Galaxy Confederation, launching a methodical attack on the clone army.

Their tactical coordination was excellent, and they pressed forward relentlessly, constantly compressing the clone army's lines and causing them heavy losses.

At this point, the clones had been forced back to the entrance of the council hall, and their situation was extremely precarious.

Palpatine paced anxiously back and forth in the parliament hall, his brow furrowed and his heart filled with unease.

This was the first time he had so desperately wanted the Jedi to arrive in time, because he was almost unable to contain the chaos among the Galactic Republic's councilors.

Just as Palpatine was getting anxious, he spotted a clone commander in the distance who seemed to be looking for him.

Without hesitation, he strode forward, pulled the clone commander aside, and asked urgently, "Tell me, Commander, what is the current situation of the battle?"

The clone commander's face was very solemn, and his voice revealed a hint of anxiety and helplessness: "I'm afraid we can't hold out for much longer. The enemy's attacks are getting more and more intense, and our defenses are already on the verge of collapse."

"And so far, we still haven't received any support from the Jedi."

Palpatine's gaze was fixed on the direction of the Jedi Temple. His understanding of the Jedi far surpassed that of ordinary people, and he knew that those Jedi would never stand idly by while the Galactic Republic Council faced a crisis.

However, the fact that they failed to appear in time aroused Palpatine's suspicions.

"This is a really tricky situation," Palpatine muttered to himself, his brow furrowed as he fell into deep thought.

What exactly caused the Jedi Knights to fail to provide timely support? Could it be that the mysterious Sith used some special means to successfully halt their advance?

Palpatine pondered to himself that he had to quickly come up with a solution to break the current deadlock.

After much deliberation, he finally came up with a plan. He obviously couldn't act himself, otherwise he wouldn't be able to explain his actions if the Jedi arrived later.

Therefore, the only option was to send out his secretly trained guards—those red-clad imperial guards in power armor.

These red-clad guards were Palpatine's elite force; they underwent rigorous training and possessed formidable combat abilities.

Although their numbers are limited, they may play an unexpected role at crucial moments.

However, Palpatine knew very well that the number of Red Guards was far too small. With just these few Red Guards, it would be almost impossible to repel the mysterious soldiers and the robot army of the Independent Star System Confederation.

Nevertheless, he had no other choice but to hope that the red-clad guards could buy enough time for the Jedi to arrive.

“I will send some guards to assist you,” Palpatine said, patting the clone commander on the shoulder, his tone grave, as if it were a momentous decision.

He knew that these guards were limited in strength, but at least they could provide the clone commander with some additional support.

After receiving the order, the clone commander turned and quickly left to carry out Palpatine's command.

The moment he left, several members of the Galactic Republic sufficeed to swarm around him, anxiously asking Palpatine and the others when they would be out of their predicament.

Palpatine took a deep breath to calm himself down, then reassured him, "Don't worry, the commander has received support."

His voice was calm, but it conveyed a reassuring power.

Then, Palpatine raised his voice and shouted at the clone commander's back, "You received support, didn't you, Commander?"

His gaze was fixed on the clone commander, as if expecting a positive answer.

The clone commander stopped and looked back when he heard Palpatine's shout.

Despite some doubts, he had indeed received support, so he nodded without hesitation to confirm.

When Palpatine's words received a response, a huge weight was lifted from the hearts of the Galactic Republic's senators.

They whispered excitedly, discussing which Jedi Master was so brave and fearless as to be the first to break through the Confederation of Independent Systems' blockade and arrive here.

Palpatine smiled as he observed the reactions of the councilors, secretly relieved.

He waved to the clone commander, indicating that he could leave.

The clone commander understood immediately, nodded, and turned to leave to receive the support Palpatine had sent him.

However, only Palpatine himself knew that no Jedi Master had actually arrived here yet.

He could only hope that the Jedi Knights could break through the powerful blockade of the unknown Sith and get here as soon as possible.

Otherwise, as the Speaker and the Sith Lord, he would probably have to personally take up his lightsaber and fight the enemy.

However, Palpatine probably won't be able to wait for the Jedi's reinforcements.

Because Anakin had successfully blocked all the Jedi Masters heading to the Galactic Republic to provide support, the Jedi Knights who tried to break through the droid army's defenses were like sitting ducks under the precise fire of the Reforged Death Seal snipers, completely powerless to fight back.

Worse still, Anakin, now fully awakened, was exceptionally powerful. He fought against multiple Jedi Masters single-handedly without being at a disadvantage, and even managed to kill three Jedi Masters who were relatively weak in swordsmanship.

Wendu stared wide-eyed, his face filled with disbelief, his body recoiling backward as if he couldn't accept what was happening before his eyes.

"Why did you do this! Anakin! Have you really fallen completely to the dark side!?" Windu's voice echoed in the air, filled with anger and despair.

Anakin stood there expressionless, his body ramrod straight, his eyes cold, completely unmoved by Windu's questioning.

"You've always been jealous of my power, but she showed me true strength." Anakin's voice was calm and cold as he slowly raised his head, looking directly into Windu's eyes. "Only with immense power can I truly control my own future!"

"You madman!" Windu could no longer contain his anger. He roared and charged straight at Anakin like a raging beast.

Seeing this, Anakin quickly ducked down and met Windu at the same speed. The two purple lightsabers crossed in the air, making a crisp clanging sound.

In that instant, time seemed to stand still, and the entire space was awestruck by this breathtaking scene.

However, at that very moment, a scream of "Ah!" was heard, and Wendu suddenly cried out in pain.

Windu's right arm was severed cleanly by Anakin's lightsaber, and the lightsaber fell to the ground with a clang.
