Chapter 117 The Tragedy of Titanium

"Your Excellency Azure Star, the alien fleet is very close to us. Shall we use them as a sacrifice?" asked Sven Bloodhowl, the Space Wolf Lord.

After the fleet led by the Makrag Glory left the warp, the Astartes discovered the Tau fleet speeding away.

"No, these aliens pose no threat. Their... ashes will become our weapon against the warp."

“Oh? I’ve never heard of that before.” Sven Bloodhowl was somewhat surprised. If these aliens could really be used to deal with the warp, he would definitely have to try them out.

Azure Star was speechless at this overly friendly space wolf wanderer. He was just like a husky, always wanting to rub against everything and constantly eyeing the various equipment on the Glory of Macragge.

Fortunately, they had the blueprints and weren't too concerned about the Astartes equipment on the Macragge's Glory. Otherwise, if she really was the leader of the Ultramarines Chapter, Azure Star would have given him a good beating.

On the bridge of the Makurag's Glory, twenty Ever Victorious soldiers silently watched Sven Gorehowl's retreating figure, successfully giving him a fright.

Sven Bloodhowl didn't underestimate these "Honor Guards"; he suspected that any one of them could easily take him down.

The Imperial side erupted in cheers upon seeing the arrival of the Radiance of Macragge (not really), while Derek's face darkened completely. He also had a considerable number of reinforcements, consisting of three Raider battleships as his main force.

However, even three raider battleships were easily slaughtered when facing the Radiance of Macragge, let alone the massive Astartes fleet brought by the Radiance of Macragge.

After the massive Astartes fleet stormed into the battlefield, the Chaos fleet was immediately scattered.

Even though the Iron Warriors' reinforcements quickly formed a defensive line with the original Chaos Fleet, a warship blocking the way of the Makrag's Glory was directly rammed and broken by her; the adamantite ram easily tore through the keel of the raider battleship.

With a sickening, metallic creak, the Marauder battleship broke in two without any miracle, becoming yet another silent space wreck.

Having anticipated this, Derek immediately launched a barrage of Fear Claws, which carried over a hundred Iron Warriors toward the Glory of Macragge.

Seeing his actions, the other Chaos warships also launched boarding torpedoes, and the Iron Warriors, carrying their slaves, boarded the cabins of the Makrag's Glory.

Derek kicked open the hatch of the Fearclaw. The bomb guns didn't fire, but the other Iron Warriors poured out of the Fearclaw, shooting down the servants and sailors on the Makrag's Glory.

"Third squad, seventh squad..." Before Derek could give the order, he heard footsteps coming from the other end of the passage.

The sound of heavily armored knights stomping on the ground must be from Astartes. The Iron Warriors stood in a row, forming a shield wall, with Derek standing in the center of the shield wall.

They were getting closer, and soon the False Emperor's minions would come into view, and their explosive rifles would teach those young Space Marines a lesson.

Chaos Space Marines always have a certain arrogance, which stems from the fact that they have a large number of veterans from the Great Crusade.

Even though Derek wasn't one of those long-time veterans, it didn't stop him from looking down on Imperial Space Marines, especially since he belonged to the Iron Warriors Legion, not some strange chapter.

The blaster fired, and Derek saw the other person's figure, which didn't resemble the Ultra Warrior he remembered.

They wore precision-engineered power armor with defenses no less than the Unyielding Terminator and no compromise on agility. They wielded precision-engineered power swords in one hand and precision-engineered storm shields engraved with exquisite patterns in the other.

Their eyes were hidden beneath the golden eagle-faced helmets, while on their belts, Derek could clearly see the Roman numeral thirteen.

"O Chaos Gods."

Derek watched the invincible army charging forward, completely unaffected by the bombs, and those blue figures made him feel as if he had fallen into an ice cave.

Those were true elite warriors, swordsmen from ten thousand years ago, the personal guards of Primarch Robert Guilliman.

The precision-engineered power sword cleaved through the steel warriors' lines. The traitors fought back fiercely, but it only resulted in the ever-victorious army wielding their swords a few more times.

A victorious soldier spotted Derek, who was wearing the Unyielding Terminator armor, and charged straight at him, his power sword flashing blue as it cleaved through Derek's still-raised explosive gun.

Then, dodging Derek's right-hand power gauntlet, he delivered a downward chop that severed Derek's right arm.

Then, with a speed that Derek couldn't react to, he spun around and swung his precision-engineered power sword, slicing the steel warrior company commander diagonally in half.

"Boom."

The indomitable Terminator, corrupted by chaos, fell with a heavy thud. Standing beside his corpse was the unharmed Ever Victorious Army.

The two fought for less than a breath before the victorious army's blade severed Derek's life.

When Sven Bloodhowl arrived from the bridge, he saw a pile of Iron Warrior corpses and the machine servants cleaning up the mess. He saw the sword wounds on the Iron Warrior corpses, all of which were fatal within a few sword strikes; they were completely powerless to resist.

"Father, how powerful this is." Now Sven Bloodhowl would no longer doubt the identities of those "Honor Guards," a bunch of old Deng from the Great Crusade era just sitting here fishing.

However, this also made him somewhat eager to try. If he could defeat one of them, he could brag about it for a hundred years!

When the Iron Warriors boarded, Azure Star excluded the Ever-Victorious Army. To respect the Astartes Codex, she simply replaced all the ordinary Ultra Warriors with the Ever-Victorious Army. She also left behind a strange squad of Invincible Iron Guards.

So the Iron Warriors, who had defected, encountered an even larger force of undefeated warriors and were thoroughly beaten by their veterans.

"Tell me, do humans need our help?" Entas felt confident again. The navy was no match for humans, but land warfare was a different story. Their fleet had a "Flame Hero" in it!

“Captain, I can give it a try.” The Water Clan diplomat wanted to communicate more with the human commander who was more approachable, hoping to reach a treaty that would make him go down in history.

With Entas's message, the Fire Clan warrior, also known as the Flamebringer of this fleet, arrived at the bridge.

"Flame Warrior, can we surpass those humans in warrior prowess?" Entas asked expectantly, only to be met with a look from Flame Warrior as if he were looking at a fool.

"I must state one thing: humans' close combat abilities far surpass ours. We can only engage in hand-to-hand combat with humans if we wear power armor." Out of respect, Yanxiong still subtly told Entas that he couldn't do it.

“It’s alright, we’ll have you put on power armor then. I’m sure humanity won’t refuse us out of honor. We can have the Water Clan diplomats test the waters on this,” Entas said hopefully.

"Sigh." Yan Xiong looked at the optimistic captain, the Water Clan diplomat, and sighed deeply.
