A bed that traverses countless worlds

Chapter 215 Seeking Scarce Resources, Overcoming Numerous Obstacles

Under the cover of darkness, Lin Yu, along with Kong Yang, Alice, and several agile survivors, set off towards the abandoned mine marked on the map.

They carried makeshift torches on their shoulders, the flames leaping in the darkness like restless fire dragons.

The entrance to the mine resembled the gaping maw of a gigantic beast, silently devouring everything.

They cautiously stepped inside; the air was thick with a nauseating, putrid stench.

The deeper you go into the mine, the narrower and darker it becomes. The walls are covered with damp moss, and water drips down from time to time, hitting your helmet with a "drip, drip" sound, like the whisper of death, sending chills down your spine.

"Damn, this place is fucking creepy!" Kong Yang couldn't help but complain, rubbing his arms and feeling a chill run from his feet to his head. "Hey, Yu-ge, are we going to play an escape room game? This place looks like it's about to collapse at any moment!"

Alice's face was also a little pale, but she still forced herself to say, "Lin Yu, do we really want to go deeper? It feels... a bit dangerous."

Lin Yu frowned, looked around, and felt increasingly uneasy.

He could sense that some unknown danger was lurking deep within the mine.

"Don't panic, stay calm! Fortune favors the bold, and you can't catch tiger cubs without entering the tiger's den!" he said, but his tone was serious.

Suddenly, a screeching sound came from the depths of darkness, breaking the silence of the mine.

Immediately afterwards, countless pairs of eyes flashing green light appeared in the darkness.

"Holy crap! What the hell is that?!" Kong Yang exclaimed, almost dropping the torch in his hand.

The owners of those green eyes were a group of mutated creatures covered in stiff black hair. They had sharp claws and teeth, and looked like giant rats magnified countless times. They bared their teeth, let out a chilling roar, and pounced on them madly.

"Holy crap, a swarm of rats is attacking! Quick, prepare for battle!" Alice shouted, raising her weapon first. A cold light pierced the darkness, slashing at a mutated rat charging at the front.

The scene instantly descended into chaos, the flickering torchlight illuminating the terrified faces of the crowd.

The number of mutated rats increased, surging in like a tide and surrounding them.

Screams, roars, and the sounds of clashing weapons mingled together, creating a chilling symphony of death.

Lin Yu stood at the back of the crowd, not immediately directing the battle, but quietly observing.

His gaze was fixed on the movements of the mutated creatures, as if searching for something. His expression remained as calm as a deep pool, making it impossible to discern his inner thoughts.

"Watch out!" Kong Yang was caught off guard and was pounced on by a mutated rat.

A strange light flashed in Lin Yu's eyes. He clenched his fist, and a powerful aura slowly rose from his body...

Lin Yu's lips curled up slightly, revealing a barely perceptible smile.

"Alice, stop cutting! Use your elven methods to talk to them and see if you can reason with them."

Everyone was stunned by these words.

"Brother Yu, are you out of your mind? Trying to reason with these mutated rats? Do you think they can understand you?" Kong Yang looked incredulous, his weapon catching in his hand a beat too late.

Alice was also completely bewildered. Although she was an elf, she had never tried communicating with a mutated rat before!

That's some pretty flashy moves!

"Why not give it a try? Things can't get much worse anyway." Lin Yu shrugged, looking like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water, his expression seemingly saying: What if it works?

Alice took a deep breath, knowing that there was no other way but to bite the bullet and go for it.

She closed her eyes and began to chant in the ancient Elvish language, her voice flowing like a clear spring, standing out starkly in the noisy mine.

Surprisingly, the mutated rats, which were originally ferocious, began to slow down after hearing the Elven language, and their eyes, which had been flashing green, became confused.

"Holy crap, it actually works?!" Kong Yang was so shocked his jaw almost dropped. This magical scene was even more exciting than watching a Hollywood blockbuster!

Alice continued chanting, her voice growing louder and louder. The mutated rats began to slowly retreat, and finally, deep within the mine, they made way for her.

"My God, this is possible?!" The survivors exclaimed in surprise, their eyes filled with awe as they looked at Lin Yu.

"Let's go, it seems they're not enemies." Lin Yu smiled faintly and took the lead in stepping into the passage.

At the end of the passage was a huge cavern filled with all sorts of resources: ores, weapons, and even rare herbs—it was a veritable treasure trove!

"We're rich! We're rich!" Kong Yang jumped up excitedly, wishing he could take all these resources away immediately.

The crowd cheered and were filled with admiration for Lin Yu's decision.

Bella looked at Lin Yu, who was standing in the center of the crowd, surrounded by everyone.

"As expected, following the boss means you'll get what you deserve!"

Everyone busied themselves collecting resources, and the entire mine was filled with a joyful atmosphere. No one noticed that while Aisha was excitedly searching for herbs, she slipped, lost her balance, and cried out in surprise…

Aisha gasped in surprise and fell backward uncontrollably.

At this critical moment, a strong arm steadily supported her.

She looked up and saw Lin Yu's resolute face.

"Be careful, don't get hurt." Lin Yu's voice was deep and powerful, as if it had some kind of magic, instantly calming Aisha's panicked heart.

Aisha's cheeks flushed slightly as she looked at Lin Yu, who was standing close to her. "Thank you, Lin Yu."

"It's alright, we're all companions, helping each other is only right." Lin Yu smiled and released Aisha's arm.

With their bountiful harvest, the group set off on their journey back to the temporary camp.

The torchlight flickered in the darkness, illuminating their excited faces.

This harvest was enough to solve part of their survival problems and also made everyone more convinced of Lin Yu's leadership.

Back at the camp, the survivors saw the mountains of resources and burst into cheers.

They surrounded Lin Yu.

"Boss, you're amazing!"

"Following the boss, you'll definitely get what you deserve!"

"Boss, from now on you're our god!"

Looking at the cheering crowd, Lin Yu felt a sense of relief.

He knew that these resources were only temporary, and that they would face many more challenges in order to survive in this broken world.

As night deepened, Lin Yu stood alone at the edge of the camp, gazing into the distance.

Although he had found the resources, the instability of the mysterious energy source seemed to be affecting the surrounding environment, and an eerie atmosphere permeated the air, making him feel uneasy.

"What exactly is going on?" Lin Yu muttered to himself, his brows furrowed.

He always felt that something was about to happen...

Suddenly, a cold wind blew by, and Lin Yu shivered.

He looked up at the sky and saw that the once bright moon had been obscured by dark clouds, and the whole world was shrouded in darkness.

"It seems we need to speed things up..." Lin Yu turned and walked towards the dilapidated castle in the center of the camp.
