Chapter 121 Entering the Abyss in Peril, the Journey Begins
Lin Yu stood at the entrance to the Demon Abyss, surrounded by the pungent smell of sulfur, as if he were standing at the gates of hell.
The dark, deep entrance resembled a gaping maw, ready to devour him at any moment.
Kong Yang anxiously pleaded with Lin Yu, looking at him with almost begging eyes: "Yu Hao, are you crazy? This is clearly suicide, please don't go, okay?"
Lin Yu's gaze was firm and composed. He turned to Kong Yang and smiled, "Brother, you don't understand. This isn't just a trial; it's my opportunity. If I don't go, how will I level up, fight monsters, and get equipment?" After saying that, he took a deep breath, his eyes flashing with unwavering determination.
"Alright, you must be careful." Kong Yang shook his head helplessly, his eyes full of worry.
Lin Yu nodded, turned around, and strode towards the dark abyss.
The pungent smell of sulfur grew stronger, as if warning him of the danger ahead.
But he did not back down; instead, his steps became even more determined.
The moment he stepped into the abyss, the surrounding air seemed to be distorted by a dark force, forming a vortex that seemed to tear him apart.
"Brothers, wait for me to come back!" Lin Yu's voice echoed in the castle before disappearing.
Su Yao, Aisha, and Alice exchanged glances. Alice spoke first: "He... went and courted death again."
As soon as Lin Yu stepped into the Demon Abyss, a suffocating darkness enveloped him.
The surrounding walls seemed to be alive, constantly writhing and emitting chilling sounds.
Suddenly, a deep roar came from the darkness, and several figures quickly approached.
"Stop!" Lin Yu thought to himself. In an instant, he used the power of the system and dodged to the side.
The sight before him made him gasp – a group of demon warriors, wielding sharp weapons, charged towards him with howls.
These demon warriors were muscular, fierce-looking, and their eyes gleamed with bloodlust.
They brandished their weapons, as if they wanted to tear Lin Yu to pieces.
Lin Yu reacted quickly, and a long sword that shone with light suddenly appeared in his hand. It was one of the divine artifacts rewarded by the system.
"Come on, you beasts!" Lin Yu roared and charged forward.
He skillfully dodged the demon warriors' attacks, exploiting gaps in their coordination to quickly defeat one of them.
A flicker of panic crossed the eyes of the remaining demon warriors, but they still frantically pounced on Lin Yu.
Lin Yu's lips curled into a confident smile once again.
He thought to himself, "These guys have no idea how strong I am."
At that very moment, Lin Yu suddenly discovered an unexpected trap.
The demon mentor's figure loomed in the darkness. He grinned wickedly at Lin Yu and whispered, "Boy, welcome to the real purgatory."
A cold glint flashed in Lin Yu's eyes, but he showed no fear whatsoever.
He gripped his longsword tightly, his eyes resolute.
Lin Yu leaped forward, and his longsword suddenly emitted a dazzling light, instantly piercing the heart of a demon warrior.
"This is just the beginning, Demon Mentor," Lin Yu said in a low voice.
His words echoed in the darkness, like a new command, foreshadowing an even greater challenge to come.
Lin Yu sneered, his longsword dancing like a whirlwind. As the sword flashed, severed limbs flew through the air, green demon blood spurted out, and a nauseating stench filled the air.
These seemingly fierce demon warriors were as fragile as paper in front of Lin Yu, utterly vulnerable.
"That's it? I thought you were something special, but you're nothing special." Lin Yu dodged the attacks with ease while making a few sarcastic remarks.
"Roar!" The enraged demon warriors surged forward even more frantically, but their chaotic attacks were completely disorganized, giving Lin Yu more opportunities to take advantage of them.
Lin Yu was like a nimble dancer, moving freely amidst the flashing swords and shadows, each move precise and deadly.
"Feeding kills! 666!" Lin Yu muttered to himself, as if playing a game, easily reaping the lives of the demon warriors.
The demon warriors fell one after another, their green blood pooling into streams that flowed across the ground of the abyss.
The surrounding demonic environment seemed to be intimidated by Lin Yu's aura, and the originally restless air became quiet.
In the distance, Alice hid behind a boulder, secretly observing Lin Yu's every move.
Seeing Lin Yu so easily defeat the demon warrior, she felt a mix of emotions.
On the one hand, she was shocked by Lin Yu's strength; on the other hand, she was angry at Lin Yu for ignoring her advice and taking the risk alone.
"This guy is always like this, he never considers my feelings..." Alice bit her lip, secretly worried.
After Lin Yu dealt with the last wave of demon warriors, he pointed his longsword at the demon mentor hidden in the darkness: "Come out, stop hiding, I know you're watching the show."
The demon mentor slowly emerged from the darkness, a sinister smile on his face: "Not bad, kid, you're more powerful than I expected. But this is just an appetizer." He waved his hand, and a path leading deeper into the darkness appeared before Lin Yu.
“Follow this path and you will find the power you seek.”
Lin Yu looked at the seemingly peaceful path, but felt a vague unease in his heart.
He narrowed his eyes, staring at the demon mentor, and said, word by word, "Are you sure this is a safe passage?"
The demon mentor gave a meaningful smile: "Of course, I never lie..."
Lin Yu didn't believe the old fox's nonsense.
He looked around and keenly caught a strange magical fluctuation in the air.
"Heh, trying to trick me? Do you think I'm stupid?" Lin Yu sneered, calmly activating the system's scanning function.
Sure enough, the scan results showed that the seemingly peaceful path was riddled with invisible magical traps.
"You old cunning bastard, I almost fell for your trick!" Lin Yu cursed inwardly, but on the surface he pretended to be nonchalant.
"This road doesn't look easy to walk on," Lin Yu said, feigning hesitation as he pointed to a patch of thorns beside the path. "How about we take another route?"
A hint of doubt flashed in the demon mentor's eyes, but he quickly smiled again: "Young man, don't be afraid of challenges. This is the fastest path."
"Really? But I like challenges." Lin Yu grinned, then suddenly dodged the path and rushed towards the thicket of thorns.
"Wait! There..." Before the demon mentor could finish speaking, Lin Yu had already disappeared into the thicket of thorns.
The demon mentor's expression changed; he hadn't expected Lin Yu to choose this path.
Although the thorn thicket lacks magical traps, it is fraught with other dangers and is much more difficult to traverse.
Lin Yu darted swiftly through the thicket of thorns, the sharp thorns tearing at his clothes and leaving streaks of blood.
But he didn't care at all; his eyes gleamed with excitement.
"Exciting! This is more like it!" Lin Yu dodged the attacks of the thorns while observing his surroundings.
Suddenly, he discovered a cave hidden in the thicket of thorns.
"Could it be..." Lin Yu's heart stirred, and he cautiously approached the cave.
Just then, a deep roar suddenly came from the cave, and a huge demon warrior rushed out of the cave, wielding a giant axe and slashing at Lin Yu.
"Holy crap! It's huge!" Lin Yu was startled and quickly dodged.
The demon warrior, having missed its attack, roared in anger and charged at Lin Yu again.
Lin Yu dared not be careless and quickly drew his sword to meet the attack.
"Ding! Ding! Ding!"
The sounds of fierce fighting echoed through the thicket of thorns.
The demon mentor, hiding in the shadows, saw this scene and his face turned terrifyingly grim.
"Damn brat, he actually saw through my trap!"
After a fierce battle, Lin Yu finally killed the demon warrior.
He stood there, panting, his body covered in wounds.
"Phew...it's finally done."
Lin Yu entered the cave and discovered that deep inside, there was a passage leading to an even deeper part of the Demon Abyss.
"It seems my choice was right." Lin Yu smiled and stepped into the passage.
At the end of the passage was a huge demonic labyrinth.
Terrifying roars echoed through the maze, sending chills down one's spine.
Lin Yu stood at the entrance of the maze and took a deep breath.
“A new challenge has begun…” He stepped into the maze, his figure disappearing into the darkness.
"Boy, I hope you can come out alive..." The demon mentor's voice echoed outside the maze.
From the depths of the labyrinth came a low growl...
