Train Survival: You're really trying to survive!

Chapter 425 Survivors Inside the Sea Monster's Belly

"Wow, I thought it would be really strong. Turns out it's not even Silver level." Sun Lili stood on the sea, holding a huge octopus in her hand. The two of them together looked like a hobbit lifting Godzilla in a comical way.

"Speaking of which, this should also be a mutated monster, right? What direction has it mutated in?" Sun Lili looked at the giant octopus with curiosity.

Song Mingyu stroked the octopus's body, carefully sensing it, and then said, "It's just a simple enlargement."

"Whether it's on Earth or here, everyone seems to really love giant octopuses," Sun Lili remarked.

“There are also figures wielding weapons. Didn’t we just see one on the island? But the octopus wielding weapons leans towards order, while this one is more like a sea monster.” Song Mingyu explained while extracting life factors, but suddenly felt something was off.

"Wait, Lily, help me peel it open. There are other life forms inside!"

Upon hearing this, Sun Lili quickly took out her staff and, with a whoosh, sliced open the octopus's body.

As the outer layer of fish meat was cut open, the internal organs were revealed to everyone.

While still on the train, Ivan focused all the searchlights on the octopus's belly. Through the translucent stomach, he could clearly see what appeared to be a human figure inside!

Sun Lili's smile vanished, and she silently used an axe to cut open her abdomen.

When the octopus's stomach was cut open, everyone saw a sight they would never forget—inside the octopus's digestive cavity were at least a dozen human-shaped corpses, most of them corroded beyond recognition by digestive fluids. But in the very center, several adults were huddled in a protective circle, with a small figure curled up in the middle.

It was a little boy! His body was tightly held by several adults, forming a human barrier that blocked most of the digestive juices. At the same time, a faint blue light emanated from the boy's wrists, forming a thin film of light around them.

Sophia drew runes in the air, condensing a large amount of clear water to wash away all the foul-smelling gastric juices.

Then, Sun Lili grabbed the little boy.

The dead adults were holding the little boy tightly, and Sun Lili couldn't pull him out. Fearing that the teleportation would worsen the boy's condition, she could only break a few of his arm bones to bring him out.

Song Mingyu quickly stepped forward to check on the little boy. The boy still had a faint pulse!

He looked about twelve or thirteen years old, skin and bones, with burn marks on his skin. But his chest still rose and fell slightly.

Song Mingyu cast several spells on the little boy, saying, "Malnutrition, his skin has been digested by digestive juices, his ribs and leg bones are broken, and he has an infected wound."

Song Mingyu took out a ball of homemade nutritional gel, which she used to feed her laboratory animals; it was very nutritious.

After feeding her the gel, Song Mingyu continued to cast spells. These illnesses are difficult to treat in modern society, but they are not a problem for superhumans.

"He should have been eaten by this giant octopus not long ago."

Su Li looked at the boy. On his right wrist, a blue wave-shaped mark was slowly fading.

Under Song Mingyu's treatment, the boy's condition visibly improved. The scabs on his festering skin fell off, revealing new skin with a pinkish tinge.

"Cough cough cough!" The boy suddenly coughed loudly, coughing up some blood clots.

Song Mingyu helped the little boy up and patted his back. "It's okay. He inhaled a lot of acidic gas into his lungs. After he was treated, the ulcerated parts coagulated into blood clots and he vomited them out."

The boy's eyelids fluttered a few times, and he slowly opened his eyes. They were exceptionally clear blue eyes, like the purest seawater concentrated within them.

Su Li squinted; those eyes were rather unusual.

"Who...are you?" The boy's voice was weak but clear.

“I’m Su Li,” Su Li answered softly. “Our team rescued you. You’re safe now. What’s your name?”

The boy blinked, seemingly trying to think. "Reef," he finally said. "My name is Reef."

"Reef, do you remember what happened? How were you eaten?"

"Eaten?" Jiao was stunned for a moment, then a look of panic appeared on his face. He suddenly grabbed Su Li's hand. "Our ship! A terrible sea monster! There's something in the water! It's chasing me!"

"It's alright, you're safe now," Su Li reassured her, while gesturing for Song Mingyu to do the same.

Song Mingyu's palm glowed with a pale green light as she stroked the back of Jiao's head.

Jiao's expression visibly calmed down.

"Are you feeling better?" Su Li asked.

"Yes, thank you, I feel much better." Jiao took a few deep breaths, then placed his hands on his forehead and bowed deeply to Su Li. "Thank you so much for your help."

Su Li looked at Jiao's forehead. The little boy had a stitched scar on his forehead that looked like a closed eye.

"Can you tell me what happened?" Su Li asked. "Of course, if it's very painful, you don't have to tell me."

Jiao nodded; it seemed the little boy had a strong heart.

“Earlier, we were sailing on the sea in our ship, and our destination was an island. We planted some fruit trees there a few years ago, and this time we were going to check on how the fruit trees were growing and also collect some salt.”

"Salt mines?" Su Li was puzzled. There was sea everywhere here, why would we need salt mines? You don't know how to extract salt from seawater, do you?

"Yes. It's a special kind of salt mineral; eating it regularly can prevent eye ulcers," Jiao added.

Su Li nodded, guessing that it was probably similar to iodized salt, containing trace elements.

“We’ve been sailing here for over a decade and are very familiar with the routes. Logically speaking, the Keg Sea Monster shouldn’t appear in such shallow waters. Perhaps it’s due to the recent unusual silence of the islands.”

“The sea monster Keg shattered our ship and then ate my family. I thought I was going to die, but you guys saved me.”

Having roughly understood the situation, Su Li then arranged for the little boy to rest. He was a bit too weak to continue, and the fact that he could speak so much was largely thanks to Song Mingyu's magic.

"Once he wakes up, we'll ask him about the situation in this world, and then, based on the intelligence, decide on our course of action for this world."
