Huh? There's a magic school here.

Chapter 73 The Life of a Sunflower (Part 1)

From the moment I became conscious, I was already in a small basin.

But what I didn't know was that this not-too-big-to-small basin was my home for life, and I didn't know how I got here.

I only remember waking up to complete darkness, but I wasn't afraid. The soil surrounding me provided me with enough warmth and nutrients, and initially, I spent most of my time in a deep sleep.

Occasionally, you can hear voices outside.

"Beretta, where should we put the sunflower?"

“Erlinda, put them on the bedside table between the two beds. Two pots on one bedside table, Professor Sprout said they need more sunlight. These are the two spots with the most sunlight! Perfect, we can put ours together. Wendy and Violet's together.”

"Okay then, by the way, should we water it?"

"Water it a little less. I remember Professor Sprout said how much to water? Oh, right, five hundred milliliters!"

"Okay, five hundred milliliters. But how am I supposed to know how much five hundred milliliters is without a balance?"

"Oh my god, Erlinda! Can you please stop bothering me while I'm doing my homework! Just water it about the right amount! A little more or a little less won't cause any problems!"

"Okay, I got it. By the way, do you want me to water yours too?"

"Thank you all!"

Sunflower? What is a sunflower? Why water it? I didn't understand what the voices outside were saying, but soon I felt the moisture.

I felt a coolness from the surrounding soil, but I knew it was comforting and would help me grow.

I don't know how much time passed, but then I noticed I was starting to change. I discovered a green growth inside my body, and I could feel it slowly growing. This excited me; I had been in this dark soil for too long, and I wanted to go out and see the world.

It's not that staying in the soil is bad; I know I can't live without this soil. But I'd rather see what the outside world is like through the body I grew up in.

I first saw the outside world about a week after I woke up. I don't know how long a week is, that's what the two-legged creatures outside said.

"Beretta, have you finished your homework?"

"Of course it's finished!"

"Ah, when did you secretly finish writing this behind my back! It's due in tomorrow's Spells class, but I've only finished half of it!"

"While you're dominating the Wizard Chess game, you'd better hurry up and write!"

"Waaaaah~ Beretta, can I borrow your homework to take a look at?"

"I'm scared of you, here you go, hurry up and write! Once you're done, you can go to bed early."

"Berita, I knew you wouldn't just stand by and watch me die! You're the best!"

"By the way, Beretta, do you think we killed these sunflowers? Why haven't they shown any signs of life after a week?"

"Plants need time to grow, they can't grow that fast! Stop chatting and get back to your homework!"

"Oh, okay! Why are you being so fierce?"

After a few hours, my body grew again. I noticed that the soil pressing down on me was getting lighter and lighter, and finally I emerged from the soil and saw the outside world for the first time.

It was early morning, and the sky outside was just beginning to lighten. I couldn't wait to observe the world outside. Through a transparent window, I could see rays of sunlight beginning to pierce through the clouds and shine on the snow-white earth.

In the distance, there are towering mountains, vast forests, and what seems to be a river further away! I stare blankly at the world outside the window, dreaming that one day I can go and see those distant mountains.

Suddenly, a noise behind me woke me up. I saw a female two-legged creature get out of bed and start getting dressed and washing her face.

I thought it would spot me quickly, but it didn't. It went about its business without even glancing at me. This left me a little disappointed.

As dawn broke, the first rays of sunlight shone on me, warm and comforting—I loved that feeling! The other two-legged creatures in the room also gradually got up!

Finally, my two-legged creature found me!

"Oh my god, Beretta! Look, the sunflowers are sprouting!"

"Oh? Really? Let me see!"

"Look, it must have just sprouted not long ago! It finally sprouted! It's been a week, and I thought I had killed it!"

"Don't be silly, Erlinda! You only watered it once and didn't do anything else, how could it have died!"

"It's still so small, and so green! How about we call it a seedling from now on?"

"This sunflower is yours, you can call it whatever you want! Why isn't mine sprouting yet?"

"How about we try watering them?"

"Alright, that's the only way!"

I felt that coolness again, hmm! I like it too! I've decided, when I grow up, I'll water my own two-legged creatures too!

"Come on, Erlinda! We've finished watering, let's go down for breakfast! We still have Charms class later."

"Okay, goodbye little seedling, grow up strong! I'm still waiting to collect the Sun Crystals!"

Huh? This two-legged creature called me Little Seedling? Is that my name? Great, I have a name! From now on, I'll be called Little Seedling, and Little Seedling is me!

The two-legged creatures are gone, and I'm all alone in the room. But I'm still very happy because I can sunbathe. I don't know why, but sunbathing makes me very, very happy.

The midday sun was strong, and it felt very comfortable. My two-legged creature returned, carrying a lot of food! I had no idea my two-legged creature could eat so much! After eating, it went to sleep, and in the afternoon it went out with the other two-legged creatures. They probably went hunting, otherwise how could they have so much food?

My favorite sun has set, and the sky is starting to darken. The two-legged creatures have returned; mine came back carrying some fruit. I just quietly watched my two-legged creature eat fruit while doing its homework. The other two-legged creatures even complained about it!

"Erlinda, can you please concentrate on your homework? Stop eating all the time!"

"Got it, Beretta! By the way, who invented that unlocking charm again today?"

"Good heavens, you've really impressed me! The Arahu Cavern wasn't invented by anyone! It came from Africa! It's on page 173 of the 'Standard Spells: Beginner' textbook!"

"Oh, okay, let me look! I've found it!"

"The unlocking spell first appeared in Africa, but it is unclear who originally invented it. The spell was brought to England by Elden Eisrickel in the 17th century and subsequently spread throughout the world. Eisrickel began to use this new spell to commit evil in London. He stole everything, whether it was a Muggle's house or a wizard's house. That is, until Londoner Bragdon Bly invented the anti-Aloth cave-opening spell."

"Yes, that's it! I have to remind you, Erlinda, you can't copy it into your homework! Professor Flitwick will scold you if he finds out!"
