Huh? There's a magic school here.
Chapter 71 Herbalism
Just a day earlier, Andres had redeemed a professor card through the system. Andres had discussed with Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick, and others that they should offer another course this semester.
Thanks to the Hogwarts buildings, the young wizards are progressing very quickly. Their progress has far surpassed that of the young wizards in their original world, which is a good thing, but it also indicates that they are spending too much time on it.
So everyone discussed it and decided to start another course, so Andres used the professor card in front of everyone.
After a flash of white light, a witch appeared before everyone. Professor Pomona Sprout looked at everyone with a smile, and McGonagall and Mrs. Hodge stepped forward and hugged each other.
"Everyone, it's been a long time! Oh, thank you, Professor McGonagall. And thank you, Professor Hodge!"
"Welcome, Professor Sprout! I'm sorry to have called you here at this time, we really need some help! I'm sure the young wizards will be very happy to have you here."
“Thank you, Principal Andres. My only hobby in this life is growing these magical plants, and it would be even better if I could teach what I have learned to the children.”
"Don't worry, Professor, I think the children will enjoy your herbalism. We'll introduce you to them at tomorrow's party. I wonder what I need to prepare now?"
"I need my dean's office, which is also the greenhouse for magical plants; I need the textbook 'A Thousand Magical Herbs and Mushrooms'; I need some magical plant seeds and some everyday equipment such as dragon skin gloves and earplugs."
“No problem, I’ll redeem it all in the system later. How about we go have dinner together now, and then we can go to Professor Sprout’s greenhouse after dinner.”
So everyone chatted and laughed as they arrived at the auditorium for a meal. Meanwhile, Beretta and the little snake, who were waiting for the professors at the table, looked at them with surprise.
They realized that they would be taking a new course, Herbalism, this semester. During their meal, they overheard many things about the professors' plans for the semester, and even questions about the final exams.
After having dinner in the auditorium, everyone went to an open space outside the castle. This area was originally supposed to be a greenhouse, but it had been empty because there was no herbalism course offered here.
This place finally came in handy again today. Andres used a card on the empty space. A huge greenhouse appeared before everyone.
"Oh, it feels so good to see my greenhouse and the dean's office again. Well then, everyone, welcome to my greenhouse."
The group filed in. Although it was still freezing cold outside, the greenhouse was warm and full of flowers, and the whole greenhouse was lush and green.
There were many unidentified plants everywhere, and vines had even grown from the basement to the storefront. By the way, this greenhouse has two floors.
In the center of the greenhouse is a large courtyard, with a tall, leafy tree occupying most of the open space. The basement is one floor below, which is used for cultivating fungi or plants that dislike sunlight.
Professor Sprout's dean's office is also on the basement level, while the greenhouses on the ground floor are filled with common magical plants, most of which require sufficient light.
“Headmaster Andres, as you can see, I only have a few magical plants left, so this semester I need to start from scratch with the children so that you will have enough herbs for Potions class in September when the new school year begins.”
"I understand. I think this greenhouse needs to be upgraded several times. And your office too, of course."
"Greenhouse Card: For every level this room gains, the growth rate of magical plants increases by 10%, and the chance of magical plants contracting diseases decreases by 10%."
So Andres upgraded Professor Sprout's greenhouse to level four and Hufflepuff's Dean's office to level two.
The person who could really have a good conversation with Sprout about herbs was Hagrid, because Hagrid often grew things on his land and sold them for money. In the original timeline, he also frequently patrolled the Forbidden Forest and discovered all sorts of magical potions.
Therefore, Hagrid often needs to consult Sprout to learn about the various magical plants, their effects, and so on. In fact, Hagrid can be considered a semi-master of herbalism.
After chatting for a while in Professor Sprout's dean's office, everyone dispersed.
The next day, after the students arrived at school, some energetic young wizards discovered the greenhouses, but without direct evidence, they could only speculate that the course offered this semester might be Herbalism.
The prefects received the new timetable the night before school started. Herbalism was prominently listed on the timetable, so they knew about it in advance.
On the evening of January 8, in the Slytherin common room.
“Renault, you know what? Christmas Day was the happiest day of my life.”
Anil recounted his Christmas experiences at length.
"On Christmas Day, the three of us got up very early. You know, we live quite far from Grandpa's house; it takes three or four hours to drive there. We didn't arrive at Grandpa's house until noon."
My father's generation had four siblings, and everyone else was fine. It was just that my aunt was extremely annoying; she was always showing off my cousin.
They said he got all A's and that all the teachers liked him very much. Then his school wanted to recommend him to study at Cambridge, saying that the principal had even written the recommendation letter.
Actually, you can show off all you want, it has nothing to do with me, right? But she just has to come and belittle me, saying that our family has excellent genes and that I didn't learn well because of my mother's incompetence!
Who could tolerate this? You can criticize me, but you can't criticize my mother. I immediately pulled out my wand and unleashed a tongue-splitting spell on my aunt. You have no idea how spectacular the scene was!
My aunt was terrified because she suddenly couldn't speak. My parents kept explaining to everyone that I hadn't failed in my studies, but that I had been accepted into Hogwarts in the summer.
It took them a long time to explain to my family that I had truly become a witch. Of course, I think my parents were just stalling for time, trying to make my aunt suffer a little longer.
Then they came to talk to me, telling me not to mess around. They asked me to break the spell, so I pretended that I didn't know how to counter the spell and told them that I wasn't good enough at studying and hadn't learned how to counter the spell, but it didn't matter, the spell would be broken in an hour or two.
You didn't see it, my aunt's face turned green with anger. It was truly gratifying.
"Alright, Anil. I think your aunt never wants to see you again!"
"I don't want to see her yet! Let's not talk about her. How about your Christmas holiday, Jean?"
“Me? I feel like a circus performer, constantly showing my parents everything I’ve learned.”
They made sounds of complaint.
