Huh? There's a magic school here.

Chapter 56 The Wan Sheng Zhang Banquet (Continued)

With a bang, the auditorium doors swung open, and students from the four colleges filed in. They took their seats at their respective college tables, awaiting Principal Andres's speech.

However, many younger wizards were wondering to themselves, "What's going on? Wasn't there supposed to be a banquet? Why are the tables so empty? Is Principal Andres up to something?"

"Ahem, welcome everyone to our first Halloween dinner. Let me first introduce our new friends."

After saying this, Andres immediately upgraded Hogwarts Castle in the system. Just then, the candlelight that had been illuminating the Great Hall suddenly flickered as if a gust of wind had blown it away. The young wizards instantly felt that the Great Hall had become much colder.

Just then, an invisible ghost rode in through the hall's main door on horseback, shouting as he rode, "Good evening, little wizards. I, almost headless Nick, am back!"

Just as all the students were watching in shock as he ran across the dining table, the story wasn't over yet. More than twenty ghosts emerged from all corners of the auditorium, greeting everyone in a friendly manner.

Aside from a few timid wizards who were initially startled, most responded enthusiastically to the ghosts. The young wizards had been quite upset when they first arrived at Hogwarts because they hadn't seen any ghosts, but two months later, at the Halloween dinner, they were surprised to suddenly encounter these resident ghosts of Hogwarts.

The young wizards were delighted with Andres's surprise; it was truly magical. Because the ghost's arrival had caused a commotion, Andres also saw his happiness level begin to rise again.

"Alright everyone, I think it's necessary for me to introduce our ghostly companions!" Andres then spent about ten minutes introducing the ghosts, even though the students actually recognized them. It was just that this was their first time seeing them, so the experience was quite novel and exciting.

"Alright, we've made our new friends. Since it's Halloween, we should add some festive cheer." With that, Andres upgraded Hogwarts Castle to level four in the system.

Then Andres picked up his wand and waved it gently, and the entire hall began to expand rapidly. The heads' tables, which had previously filled a third of the space, instantly grew larger, making the room feel even more spacious. Now, less than a tenth of the seats were occupied, causing the students' eyes to widen in astonishment.

Is this spatial magic? Our headmaster has become so powerful that he can distort space? The young wizards were all completely bewildered! This is incredibly powerful, but the story doesn't end there.

Then, hundreds of jack-o'-lanterns began to float up, their glowing lights spinning around the hall. This truly ignited the festive atmosphere! Add to that the ghosts that had just joined in, and any ordinary person walking in would be scared to death. This Halloween was so exciting!

However, Andres, standing on the podium, continued his performance. He glanced at the sky above the auditorium, seemingly somewhat dissatisfied, and shook his head. Then, with a wave of his wand, a burst of blue light enveloped the dome. When the blue light dissipated, the dome revealed a sky filled with thunder and rain.

The sky was drizzling with intangible rain, accompanied by flashes of lightning and rumbles of thunder. Only then did Andres nod in satisfaction and address the students, "Let the banquet begin!"

After that, a variety of prepared foods were laid out on the tables of each academy. The young wizards finally burst into cheers and began to feast.

Our principal, beaming with pride, raised his glass to Professor McGonagall and the others, inviting them to a toast. Since it was a holiday, no one refused the invitation. And so, the sound of clinking glasses filled the air.

“Hello, Sir! Can I ask you a question?” Beretta greeted Nick, who was almost headless.

“Of course, my lovely lady. Is there anything I can help you with?” Nick, who was almost headless, turned his head to one side and then put it back down, greeting the young wizards of Gryffindor.

The young Gryffindor witches let out a soft gasp, while the young wizards became even more excited.

"So, everyone can become a ghost? How do I find them?" Beretta asked again, her eyes fixed on Nick.

Nick, who was nearly headless, frowned upon hearing the question, but still answered, "No, that's not how it works. Only those who had strong obsessions in life can remain here as ghosts. It's impossible for them to become ghosts if they don't want to."

Upon hearing this answer, Beretta's expression darkened slightly, and she sighed, muttering, "Does that mean Mom and Dad don't like Beretta and don't want to stay and keep her company?"

Hearing the little girl's mutterings, Nick, who had almost lost his head, seemed to understand something. So he said to Beretta, "Child, I understand how you feel. But becoming a ghost isn't the best choice. Death isn't the end, but a new beginning."

And those of us who stayed behind belong neither to this side nor that side. That's the most painful thing. I'm a coward; I stayed because I couldn't face my own death. But your parents are brave people; they dared to face death directly. You should be proud of them, not too sad.”

"Oh, thank you, Sir. I will try my best to live. By the way, Sir, would you like a glass of juice? Pumpkin juice is delicious! Oh, sorry. I forgot you are a ghost."

"It's alright, that's a great regret for a ghost too. I haven't tasted food for over six hundred years. Well then, enjoy your meal, my lovely lady!" Nick, who had almost lost his head, then removed it again and left.

At the Slytherin table, Jeanne, Jerome, Fabio, and Anil had been in a state of shock ever since they entered. Initially, they were questioning the empty table; it seemed to have nothing at all, not at all like a banquet.

Then the ghosts entered, and the entrance of Barrow the Blood Man gave them a real fright. As a joke, Barrow passed right through their bodies. This made the young wizards tremble. While Andres introduced the ghosts, they were discussing how they could become ghosts after they died.

When the castle was upgraded again, the enlarged hall and the floating pumpkin lanterns thrilled them. It was magical.

“Wow, Jerome. Headmaster Andres is amazing. He just waved his wand and the whole Great Hall became this big.”

"Yes, yes, I wish I could learn this magic. Then I could expand my playroom at home, preferably the kind that makes me invisible and only I can go in."

"What nonsense are you two talking about? This is powerful spatial magic! Do you think an ordinary person can do this? You should learn how to use a levitation spell to make these hundreds of pumpkin lanterns float first," Fabio said, pouring cold water on their enthusiasm.

Even after Jeanne and the others graduated, they still hadn't figured out the magic Andres had cast. Little did they know, Andres had cheated!
