Huh? There's a magic school here.

Chapter 408 Returning to the Centaur Tribe

"Principal Andres, it's been a long time!"

"Principal Andres, it's been a long time!"

Bernhard spoke first, followed by Jean, as they were direct superiors and subordinates in the same department. Although they usually had a good relationship, proper etiquette was still necessary. Both gave Andres a light hug, a privilege reserved for the first two classes of students at Hogwarts. After all, with the increasing number of students two years later, Andres couldn't remember them all.

The two glanced at the headmaster's office, which had remained virtually unchanged for twenty years, and sighed with emotion, especially since Bernhard's twins were now attending Hogwarts. Just as they were reminiscing, a house-elf brought them tea. Andreas immediately picked up his cup and drank, while the teacups in front of the other two remained untouched on the coffee table, only the spoons inside slowly stirring them.

"So, what brought you two here to just stand around in a daze?"

Andres's joke brought the two of them back to reality.

“No, Principal, Jeanne and I came about the matter of the centaurs. In fact, even if the principal hadn’t written to us, we would have found time to see him.”

"Oh?"

“Principal, you’re probably too busy to know! There are now more than 500 centaurs in the Forbidden Forest, and the space in the Forbidden Forest can no longer meet their needs.”

"When did this happen? Why weren't you told?"

“The growth of the centaur tribe is a recent phenomenon, occurring only in the last few years. We approached Minister Darris and Deputy Minister Diane last year, but they were too busy, and the centaurs didn't raise any objections, so we put the matter aside. Fortunately, we received your letter yesterday and came over immediately today.”

"Let's go, let's go and take a look in the Forbidden Forest."

After saying this, Andres led Benhard and Jeanne into the Forbidden Forest. Once inside, Jeanne took over as the guide. This was because Jeanne was more familiar with the area than Andres and Benhard; in fact, Jeanne even owned a house in the centaur tribe, though he rarely visited.

When the three arrived at the centaur camp, they were quickly spotted by the sentries in the tower. Although the centaurs had been well protected by Hogwarts over the years, they still maintained a degree of vigilance. Upon recognizing the wizard as Jeanne, whom they knew well, the centaurs immediately sent someone to report to Chief Anduin Meyers.

So when Andres and his two companions arrived at the entrance of the Battle Axe Tribe, Anduin was already standing at the door waiting for them.

"Welcome, my friend. How have you been, Principal Andres?"

"It's alright, just a bit busy."

"Welcome, my friend! Chief Benhard, it's been so long since you've visited our tribe!"

"You know, the Ministry of Magic has endless meetings!"

"Haha, welcome to both of you! Please follow me!"

Anduin completely ignored Jeanne, who had come with him, because in his eyes Jeanne was one of his own and didn't need any special treatment. Principal Andres and Director Benhard, on the other hand, were outsiders, and undoubtedly important figures, so it was only right that they be taken care of. Anduin stayed with Andres and Benhard, while Andres focused more on the Battle Axe tribe.

Visually, the Battleaxe tribe has indeed grown considerably larger than it did then, with many more centaurs. Andres can even see herds of foals running past the tribe's tents. However, this also makes the entire Battleaxe tribe appear more crowded, which would pose a significant hygiene problem for such a primitive tribe.

It wasn't that the centaurs were unhygienic; it was simply that there were too many people and too little space. Anduin led the three of them, chatting all the way to his tent. It was Martha, now a young woman, who served tea and fruit! Twenty years wasn't a big deal for centaurs; it was about the same as a human growing four or five years older. Therefore, centaurs were a race with long lifespans. As for Old Rand's death, it was entirely accidental; Old Rand was already nearing the end of his life when he came into this world.

I never expected that even so, old Rand would still take more than a decade to die.

As Andres chatted with Anduin, he steered the conversation towards the development of the centaur tribe. Anduin was pleased to hear that Andres was very concerned about his tribe's progress, but he also expressed his concerns.

“You know, Principal Andres, the centaurs love to run freely! But the Forbidden Forest is becoming less and less suitable for their needs. Ah, of course, I'm not saying it's bad. I just think that if the centaur tribe continues to develop like this, life in the Forbidden Forest will become very restrictive. I think you understand what I mean, right?”

Andres nodded, indicating that he understood the centaur tribe's situation.

"Don't worry, Anduin. I actually came here today to resolve this matter. We've already found a suitable place for the centaurs to live, and now it's up to you to decide what to do!"

Upon hearing Andres's words, Anduin's face clearly lit up with joy.

"Really, Principal Andres? Where is that place? Is it very dangerous?"

"Well, how should I put it? Things are indeed a bit troublesome because this place isn't on Earth, but on the continent of Karen in another world. It's an outpost of the Bear Kingdom, and the outpost is built on a vast, endless grassland. This grassland is so large that it feels desolate because there are no people around!"

Upon hearing that it was the Great Plains, Anduin's eyes immediately lit up with surprise. The Great Plains might not be suitable for humans, but it would be a different story for centaurs. It was practically a paradise tailor-made for them, where centaurs could roam freely across the plains.

Is there a water source there?

After asking the question, Anduin immediately felt stupid. If there was no water source there, where would the vast grasslands come from?

"Yes, there is a winding river. Although it is only a little over a meter deep, it is very wide, about 500 meters wide. I think the water there is enough for you! The biggest problem there is the possibility of being attacked by orcs."

"As long as there's a river flowing through, that's fine. As for those foolish orcish centaurs, they have enough strength to defend their homeland! However, Principal Andres's migration of his people is a major event. Could you take me there to see it for myself? It's not that I don't trust you, but with so many of my people, it's always better to be cautious."

"Of course! If you're not satisfied with that grassland, we can help you find a better place!"

"It's settled then! When do we leave? I can't wait!"

"Dad! Principal Andres! Can I come with you? I want to see the grasslands too!"

Masha, who hadn't left, saw that the two were going to the grasslands to find a new habitat for the tribe, and immediately blinked her big eyes and made her request.
