Huh? There's a magic school here.
Chapter 10 A Visit to Hogwarts
Andres surveyed the front hall. In each of the four corners stood a suit of armor. According to the system prompts, these suits of armor could be activated under the principal's command and could carry out orders such as patrolling and guarding. They were the loyal guardians of this ancient castle.
On one side of the wall near the entrance to the hall, there were four transparent glass containers filled with sparkling four-colored gems. After taking a closer look at the hourglass of points, Andres thought to himself, "How much is this worth?" He walked to the entrance of the auditorium on the left and pushed open the door.
"System, why is the auditorium so small? It feels like it can only seat a little over a hundred people."
"The host and Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are at too low a level to accommodate too many students and cannot reach the peak of the school. The host needs to work hard to build the school. I believe that with the host's efforts, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will become more and more perfect."
"How do I raise my own level and the level of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? What is the level cap?"
"The current level cap is 10. After level 10, there is insufficient information, and the host will need to explore on their own. In addition to gaining experience by learning and teaching magic, the host can also use system points to exchange for experience to level up. It is recommended that the host learn more magic to accumulate experience."
"Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry can be upgraded by completing system tasks to earn rewards, or by exchanging items with system points to meet the upgrade requirements. Currently, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is in its initial state, Level 1. Although Level 1 has a complete castle building, most of its functions are unusable. The castle's carrying capacity is limited, and the number of people that can use it will increase with each level upgrade."
"I understand," Andres understood after communicating with the system. Although the system had materialized the entire Hogwarts Castle, it was currently just an empty shell, lacking the magic and wonder of the movies and novels. To make Hogwarts Castle look like he envisioned it, he would need to work hard to build it himself. The system had also said that the exterior of the castle wouldn't change, but the number of rooms, their size, and their functions could indeed be upgraded—that was magical, and it met the requirements of a magical world. Andres remembered a line from his previous life reading Harry Potter that perfectly described the situation: magic was there to make life easier for wizards.
Leaving the Great Hall, Andres looked towards the opposite corridor, where the new students entered after coming up from the Black Lake. There were also classrooms, faculty lounges, and the Transfiguration classrooms there. Andres didn't have time to explore every room yet; the castle was so large, exploring it all would be exhausting. He went up the stairs in the hall to the second floor, where the History of Magic classroom, Muggle research classroom, school hospital, head nurse's office, and library were all located.
The History of Magic classroom is the largest classroom, but in this parallel universe, the course on the History of Magic will not be offered because the magical world does not yet exist, and Andres is the first wizard.
"Perhaps, a course on the history of magic will be available many years from now, and I might be included in it and admired by future generations?" Andres thought for a moment, feeling a little excited. After all, not everyone has the opportunity to create an era, but he had this opportunity because of the system.
Besides, the Muggle Research Classroom is just a nameplate; the course probably won't be offered anytime soon. Since all the children will be from the Muggle world, what else would they be researching? Perhaps they could use the guise of Muggle research to popularize some common knowledge that the children are already learning, since they can't be completely out of touch with reality, right?
The original Gryffindor Headmaster's office was also on the second floor, but it is now just an ordinary office. Whether it will become the Headmaster's office in the future is up to the future Headmaster to decide.
The library is currently closed; one can only see inside from the outside corridor. After inquiring with the system about the reason, he learned that it's a virtual space, and the hundreds of bookshelves inside are actually empty. The magical books inside need to be exchanged and replenished by Andres in his future work. Andres felt a headache coming on; it seemed he still had a long way to go.
As for places like the restrooms and washrooms, Andres didn't even bother to look at them. After going up to the third floor, at the end of the corridor was a huge eagle statue. This thing was a hidden mechanism. With the correct password, it could be turned into a spiral staircase leading directly to the principal's office on the eighth floor. In the future, he wouldn't have to climb so many stairs. Andres felt a little comforted.
The Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher's office is also on the third floor, and it leads directly to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom on the fourth floor. Additionally, Myrtle's restroom is also on the third floor; in other words, the entrance to the secret chamber is on the third floor.
Thinking about it now, being a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor is no easy job. You could be killed by the Basilisk at any time. It's strange, considering it's been thousands of years, that the Basilisk hadn't been released before Voldemort. Didn't it just come out to wander around and kill a professor for fun?
Continuing upwards, the fourth-floor armor corridor led to the prize display room. It was filled with countless suits of armor. Andres thought it should really be called the Hogwarts Security Office; it seemed Hogwarts was quite unsafe in its early days, otherwise they wouldn't have had so many security guards. Hmm, hopefully he wouldn't need them later.
The trophy room contained a large number of display trophies, such as Quidditch trophies from previous years, the House Trophy of the year, and a wide variety of individual honor trophies and medals. Most of them were displayed in glass cases. Andres also saw a thick book containing the list of past Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry student council presidents and vice presidents.
On the right side of the fourth floor is the room Harry was forbidden to enter during his first year; that room leads to the basement. That's quite a magical detail—think about it, a direct route from the fourth floor to the basement! I wonder how it was designed back then; perhaps one of the headmasters used magic to alter space? These little details of Hogwarts are so exciting to think about. Will the students be so excited they can't sleep when they arrive? By the way, there's a statue of the One-Eyed Witch in the hallway of this room, and behind the statue is a passageway from Hogwarts Castle to Hogsmeade Village. Hmm... well, there isn't Hogsmeade Village yet.
In addition, the Charms class and the Defense Against the Dark Arts class are also located on the fourth floor.
