Rebirth of the Prime Minister's Daughter: Not to be Trifled With
Chapter 56 Xin'er is injured and her life hangs by a thread
Xin'er looked at Granny Ye and asked with a smile, "Master, was Consort Jia also your apprentice?"
Just as Granny Ye was about to say something, Consort Jia looked at Xin'er and said with a smile, "Xin'er, I used to be an embroiderer under Granny Ye. Granny Ye helped me a lot, and she was like my mentor!"
Then, Consort Jia asked softly, "Xin'er, Master, would you like to come to the palace with me?"
Just as Xin'er and Granny Ye were about to say something after hearing this, Madam Liu received the news and entered with Granny Ji.
Lady Liu glanced at Consort Jia and spoke first, saying, "This humble woman greets Consort Jia! I was unaware of Consort Jia's arrival and failed to greet you properly. Please forgive me if I have been disrespectful!" Lady Liu bowed to Consort Jia as she spoke.
After hearing this, Consort Jia paused, looked at Madam Liu, and said in a low voice, "Madam Prime Minister, I was very rude. Please don't take offense!"
Upon hearing this, Lady Liu glanced at Consort Jia and said with trepidation, "Your Highness, I dare not! What brings you to my residence?"
"You wouldn't dare say that! I love embroidery and would like to ask you for these two people." Consort Jia said, pointing to Xin'er and Granny Ye.
Liu was naturally unwilling, after all, Xin'er was a thorn in her side, and she had not yet completely subdued Xin'er.
Then, Liu looked at Xin'er, then at Consort Jia, and said in a low voice, "Consort Jia, our Su family has finally managed to cultivate such a skilled embroiderer, so I am very sorry that I cannot grant your request."
Upon hearing this, Granny Ye couldn't help but think disdainfully to herself, "It was clearly me who raised Xin'er, and it was also Xin'er's own efforts. What does it have to do with the Su family and Madam Liu?"
Upon hearing this, Consort Jia saw the situation and refrained from saying anything further. After a while, Consort Jia left the Su residence with her maids and attendants.
After Consort Jia left, Lady Liu took Xin'er to her own Qingya Garden.
Inside Qingya Garden, Madam Liu sat upright in the main seat, coldly looking at Xin'er kneeling below. She spoke in a cold voice, "Xin'er, you shameless servant, how dare you seduce Consort Jia behind my back! It seems our Su family is too small to accommodate such a big shot like you?"
Upon hearing this, Xin'er was so frightened that she lowered her head even further and cried, "Madam, Xin'er wouldn't dare! Madam, Xin'er really didn't!"
After hearing this, Liu looked at Xin'er and said with a sneer, "Xin'er, you dare not? You didn't? Then why didn't you inform me when Consort Jia came?"
After hearing this, Xin'er paused for a moment, then said in a low voice, "Madam, when Consort Jia came to the manor, I was embroidering in my room and forgot to inform you!"
Upon hearing this, Madam Liu became even angrier. She glared at Xin'er and said angrily, "Xin'er, why did you take Consort Jia to see Granny Ye? Do you think I'm stupid?"
After hearing this, Xin'er paused, looked at Liu Shi, and explained in a low voice, "Madam, Consort Jia wants me to enter the palace with her to be her personal embroiderer. I also recommended my master, Granny Ye, and Consort Jia wants me to lead the way to see her."
Upon hearing this, Madam Liu became even angrier. Furthermore, since Xin'er had dirt on her and Su Yunyan, her gaze towards Xin'er grew increasingly fierce. "Xin'er, you think you can even think of entering the palace to become Consort Jia's personal embroiderer? Don't you know what kind of person you are? Do you think you're worthy? You'll never escape my clutches in this lifetime, and you should never even dream of it."
After Liu finished speaking, she slammed Xin'er's indenture into her face.
Xin'er looked at Liu Shi in horror. She knew that she had offended Liu Shi and that Liu Shi would definitely not let her off the hook given her ruthless nature.
Immediately, Xin'er stumbled and crawled toward Liu Shi, grabbed her trouser leg, and cried, "Madam, I, Xin'er, really know I was wrong! Please forgive me! I will do anything for you."
Upon hearing this, Liu was extremely annoyed. She kicked Xin'er, who was grabbing her trouser leg, away, sending Xin'er flying several meters away.
Just then, Xin'er vaguely heard Su Yunyan walk in and said, seemingly in fear, "Mother, you didn't kick Xin'er away, did you?"
A moment later, Liu said, "Yan'er, she was just a lowly maid anyway. Let her go! Otherwise, she might talk nonsense in front of your father and ruin your image."
Upon hearing this, Xin'er felt utterly devastated and fell into a coma.
After an unknown amount of time, Xin'er woke up groggily and found herself lying in bed with Granny Ye holding her hand tightly beside her.
Xin'er slowly withdrew her hand, which immediately startled Granny Ye awake.
Granny Ye looked at Xin'er groggily and said with heartache, "Xin'er, you've finally pulled through. Do you know how badly you were injured? You were unconscious for a whole day and night."
Xin'er still felt a chill run down her spine when she thought about it. Then, she looked at Granny Ye and asked in confusion, "Master, how did I get back?"
After hearing this, Granny Ye paused, looked at Xin'er, and said with a mixture of heartache and anger, "Xin'er, luckily the eldest young lady happened to pass by and found you. You had already been abandoned outside Qingya Garden. The eldest young lady brought you back and even called a doctor to see you, otherwise I might not have seen you again!"
Xin'er felt a warmth in her heart upon hearing this. Then, she looked at Granny Ye and said weakly, "Master, I want to go to Xiaguang Courtyard to thank the young lady. Master, could you come with me?"
After hearing this, Granny Ye paused, looked at Xin'er, and said in a low voice, "Xin'er, of course you can! Miss is so kind and is a rare and good mistress. We should thank her properly."
After hearing this, Xin'er paused, looked at Granny Ye, and said weakly, "Master, shall we go now?"
After hearing this, Granny Ye looked at Xin'er and said with heartache, "Xin'er, you've only just recovered. Why don't you wait a few days until you're feeling better before you go?"
After hearing this, Xin'er looked at Granny Ye and nodded heavily.
After a while, Granny Ye looked at Xin'er and suggested in a low voice, "Xin'er, should we ask the young lady for help?"
After hearing this, Xin'er looked at Granny Ye and nodded heavily, instantly having an idea in her mind.
