The princess shook her head blankly. "It's nothing, it's nothing. I was just frightened. Oh dear, are you hurt? Let me see."

The princess noticed that there were bloodstains on Song Zhili's clothes.

Song Zhili shook her head. "Princess, I'm fine. I just got a minor scrape. It's nothing serious. Let's move forward a bit. I want to see if I killed that person."

Although the crazy horse carried them for a distance, it wasn't too far. If they walk back now, it should take about ten minutes to get there.

When the princess heard that Song Zhili didn't care about her injuries at all and wanted to walk further, she glanced at the dead horse lying on the ground, then nodded and quickly followed Song Zhili. Sure enough, after walking for about fifteen minutes, Song Zhili and the others arrived at the place where Bai Xiao had fallen off his horse.

But when they arrived, Bai Xiao had already disappeared. Song Zhili was still thinking to herself that he was really lucky to have survived being shot.

"Why is there so much blood here? Is it from that bad guy?"

Princess Qiu Tao and the other two also saw the bloodstains on the ground, and the princess asked first.

"Hmm, probably. Never mind, we don't know how far this place is from the capital. Should we keep walking back, or stay here and wait for rescue?"

If Song Zhili were alone, she might have driven back by herself, but since there were the princess and the other two, she couldn't take the car out.

"I'm a little scared. Why don't we walk around first and see how far it is?"

Hearing the birds chirping all around and the rustling of leaves in the wind, the princess was somewhat frightened as it was getting dark.

She held tightly to Song Zhili's arm and walked slowly.

Seeing her like this, Song Zhili had no choice but to continue walking forward.

After walking for about ten more minutes, the princess finally couldn't walk anymore. Seeing a large stone pillar by the roadside ahead, she immediately ran up to it, sat down on it, and fanned herself with her hand. She was already covered in sweat.

This was the first time she had walked such a long distance; she was exhausted.

"I can't go on anymore, I'm so tired. Miss Song, why don't we wait here and see if there's a passing carriage, or if anyone will come to rescue us?"

Seeing that the princess was already covered in sweat, Song Zhili had no choice but to stop. She looked around and saw that there were woods on both sides of the road. She was getting thirsty, so she spoke to the three of them.

"Princess, please rest here for a while. I'll go into the woods to see if I can find some water. Don't wander off until I return."

As soon as Song Zhili finished speaking, Qiu Tao stepped forward, looked at Song Zhili and said, "Miss Song, let me go with you."

Song Zhili turned to Qiu Tao and shook her head. "No need. You stay here and guard the princess. I can go by myself."

Song Zhili refused outright. If Qiu Tao went with her, how would she take things out of her spatial storage?

After Song Zhili refused, Qiu Tao didn't dwell on it. Instead, she went to the princess's side and, together with another maid, stood guard over the princess. At the same time, they kept an eye on the road, hoping someone would pass by.

Meanwhile, Song Zhili walked into the woods for a while, and then, out of the princess's and the others' sight, she came to her space. She found an iron cup, filled it with a large glass of mineral water, and then wandered around the space. Seeing a few apples in the living room, she took them with her.

Then Song Zhili returned with the glass of water and a few apples, which she had already washed in her spatial dimension.

The three princesses breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Song Zhili return. They had been worried about what would happen if Song Zhili encountered any danger in the forest.

Thankfully, Song Zhili returned safely.

"Qiu Tao, come and help me with this."

Song Zhili held a cup in one hand and several apples in the other. Seeing that one of the apples was about to fall, she immediately called out to Qiu Tao.

Upon hearing this, Qiu Tao immediately ran to Song Zhili, took the apple from Song Zhili's hand, and the two walked together toward the princess. "Princess, I went inside and found some water and this fruit. Drink some first, and then have some fruit later."

The princess was actually very thirsty, but since everyone was walking, she was too embarrassed to say anything.

Seeing Song Zhili bring her a cup of water, she didn't care whether the water was clean or not, took it and drank a big gulp. After she finished drinking, she didn't forget to give some to the two maids behind her as well.

Then everyone took an apple and started eating. Song Zhili also took one and started eating. After everyone had finished eating, Song Zhili asked the princess whether they should continue on their way or rest there.

Song Zhili glanced at the sky; it was already past five o'clock, and the sky was gradually darkening. She thought that since she hadn't gone back by now, Xia Momo and He Miaomiao would probably become suspicious and tell He Chengjing.

Her only hope now is that He Chengjing will be in the manor. If he's basically never in the manor like he was a few days ago, then she's doomed.

It's really hard to say when they'll be discovered.

Thinking this, Song Zhili saw that the others had finished eating the apples. Then she glanced at the woods. When she went into the woods earlier, there was a clearing that would be suitable for making a campfire to keep warm.

"I'm a little too tired to walk anymore, so why don't we wait here?"

The princess felt that her feet were already blistered, and she really couldn't walk anymore.

“Alright, when I went to that woods earlier, I saw a clearing. Why don’t we go in there and build a fire? It’ll probably get a bit chilly when it gets dark, and a fire will warm us up.”

When the princess and the two maids heard what Song Zhili said, they had no objections. The two maids stepped forward and helped the princess and the others walk into the woods. When they arrived at the clearing, Song Zhili and the two maids picked up some dry branches from the surrounding area.

Then they built a bonfire, and Song Zhili took out a box of matches and lit the fire with a flick of her wrist. The firelight illuminated their faces, and they all smiled.

Looking at the fire in front of her, the princess's eyes welled up with tears. She was extremely grateful that she had been in the accident with Song Zhili. If it had been on her own, she might not have been able to handle that crazy horse and might have been dead long ago.

For the first time, she felt death was so close.

"Miss Song, I heard Chengjing call you Ali before. May I call you that too?"
