Boonie Bears: Another World Fantasy
Chapter 82 The Shattered Throne (Part 2)
Lefe took a deep breath, and several silver threads appeared in her palm. These threads, like serpents, quickly wrapped around the huge stone tablet in the center of the hall. She lifted the stone tablet, which weighed several tons, and then threw it at Na Ling.
"This is your grandmother's sanctuary. Aren't you afraid she'll be angry?" Na Ling dodged the fatal blow with a light movement, while the stone tablet crashed heavily into the wall, sending stone chips flying everywhere.
"Mind your own business!" Lefebvre swung her fist at Na Ling's face, brimming with confidence, using her most prized close-quarters combat technique. However, to her utter surprise, this technique was completely ineffective against Na Ling.
Naling easily caught Lefie's fist and twisted it, putting her wrist in an extremely contorted position.
"Ah!!! It hurts!!!" Lefie screamed in agony. Instantly, this high and mighty queen was kneeling before Naling like a lowly slave.
"Where is Mus?" Na Ling stared expressionlessly at Lefie on the ground, her eyes revealing no emotion.
“He…he’s not here…” Lefie’s face turned pale with pain, and large beads of sweat rolled down her forehead. She endured the pain and stammered her reply.
"Crack!" Without hesitation, Na Ling twisted Le Fei's left wrist with all her might. The crisp sound of bones breaking echoed in the empty hall.
"Ah—" Lefie screamed, clutching his severed arm, his body trembling uncontrollably.
“I didn’t kill your sister… it was all Mus who did it!” Lefie looked at Naling in horror, trying his best to distance himself from the matter.
"I asked you where he is?" Na Ling's tone remained indifferent, unmoved by Lefie's words.
“The place your sister stayed in, that forest…” Lefie bit his lip tightly, veins bulging on his forehead, as he uttered the words with difficulty.
"Bang!" Na Ling casually tossed aside her weapon, making a dull thud. Then, without looking back, she walked towards the entrance of the main hall, leaving Le Fei lying alone on the ground, trembling.
"It's no use! He has completely taken control of the other Templars. Now, as long as the cooperation with the V Group is finalized, Mus will take over the entire Deep City as the cornerstone for the Deer Clan's revival." Lefie struggled to his feet and shouted.
“This was already a pre-arranged plan after the war between heaven and earth. You and your parents used Naya to hide the golden deer antlers...it only bought us a little time, it doesn't change anything.” She took a few steps forward, staring at Naling's back. “Naling, I beg you, please don't let the conflict break out again. Don't you want our nation to rise again?”
"Rise? When you and Mus started the civil war and killed your own brothers and sisters, why didn't you say a word about them being flesh and blood, having parents and brothers?!" Na Ling turned around and roared hysterically, her voice echoing throughout the hall.
“Do you think I wanted to do this?” Lefebvre could no longer maintain her hypocritical mask. Her emotions completely spiraled out of control as she retorted in a hoarse voice, “Back then, Mus killed all the high priests who could manipulate the golden antlers, leaving only me... Then he threatened me that if I obeyed him, I wouldn’t have to die, and neither would my family—” Her voice was filled with despair, as if she were about to release all the secrets that had been suppressed deep within her heart for so long.
As she spoke, she stared blankly at her hands, which were already stained with indelible blood. "I was only 15 years old then, and all I wanted was to live... If I died, I would have nothing left," she murmured to herself as if possessed.
"If you were in that situation, what decision would you have made?"
Na Ling did not answer her, but stood quietly in place, the shadow cast by the walls of the hall engulfing half of her body.
The shadow of the war between heaven and earth still lingered in her heart.
......
"Mother?"
Seeing Na Yuan appear in the temple's armory, Na Ling called out to her, "I'm late."
The mother, who was in a phantom state, nodded, showing no intention of blaming her.
“Your sister needs your help, Na Ling. She still has a glimmer of hope. Only the Golden Deer Antler can save her.” Na Yuan stepped forward, wanting to gently stroke his daughter’s face, but remembering that he was still in a hallucination, Na Yuan withdrew his hand with some disappointment.
Naling gritted her teeth and said, "I know, I'm going to find Mus right now—" As she spoke, she began to scan the rack full of weapons, looking for a weapon that suited her.
Na Yuan quickly stopped Na Ling and said anxiously, "No, Na Ling, listen to me, there's not much time left." As she spoke, she raised a hand, and the surrounding afterimages gradually coalesced into the shape of a man.
Na Ling narrowed her eyes, carefully examining the man who had suddenly appeared. She recognized the long-haired man from the street photos leaked by Yu Lian.
Na Yuan noticed Na Ling's confusion and explained calmly, "He is your sister's boyfriend."
Upon hearing this, Na Ling's eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at the long-haired, pale-faced man, then at her mother, and asked in astonishment, "What? It was him?!"
Suddenly, a murderous intent surged within Na Ling, and she angrily questioned Na Yuan: "Mom, what kind of time is this to still be joking?"
“I’m not joking, Ling, now is not the time to dwell on these things,” Na Yuan said seriously. “Go find him. He is important to us and to you.”
Naling tried to calm herself down, despite her inner turmoil. After a while, she finally nodded and said to her mother, "Okay... I promise you. Where is he now?" Her mother told her, "In the small town at the foot of the mountain. He has Naya's conch shell on him, so he shouldn't be hard to find."
Upon hearing this, Na Ling quickly took off her long robe and walked to the gap in the armory wall. Outside the gap was the boundless snowfield of White Bear Mountain, where the cold wind was biting.
“Please protect him as you would a member of our family, daughter.” Her mother’s voice echoed in Naling’s ears.
“You have to give me an explanation, Mom. Why did you do this?” she couldn’t help but ask.
Na Yuan smiled gently and said, "Without him, Naya might not have been able to adapt to everything here, let alone survive until you came to rescue her. So, please trust me and protect him."
Hearing her mother say this, Na Ling felt a little more at ease. She knew her mother was always right. So, without thinking, Na Ling reached out her hand; however, her fingers passed right through her mother's body.
The source isn't actually there.
That was just her ghost.
"Naya is in your care, Ling. I'm so sorry to see you again this way," her mother said guiltily. "Go, you can save them all—"
Then, Na Ling leaped over the gap and plunged into the freezing cold. In a controlled dive, she rose slowly, her entire body enveloped in golden flames, and plunged into the chaotic air currents of White Bear Mountain.
