Boonie Bears: Another World Fantasy
Chapter 20 The Dominator (Part 2)
"Snapped!"
A balloon burst open with a bang.
The boring university class ended again amidst his unfounded fantasies.
As usual, no one paid any attention to him, and Sharp fled quickly all by himself.
His parents, who were away on business trips all year round, couldn't possibly take care of him, which is why he became so颓废 (颓废 is a difficult word to translate directly, but it implies a state of being listless, dispirited, or decadent).
I didn't have many friends at school.
At home, there's only my nagging older sister.
"How boring..."
He walked around the outer wall of the school, just like any other ordinary day.
The damaged and faded posters are still hanging on the wall... They were deliberately vandalized, covered with large, distorted characters.
"A scam, a conspiracy..."
These things are everywhere now. Sharp doesn't care that much anymore.
After class, he always liked to take a roundabout route and then wander around the streets for a while. He'd spend the whole night at the arcade, then take the next day off to catch up on sleep…
But he wasn't in the mood for that now. The playlist in his headphones had long since finished playing and stopped, but the boy was still entertaining himself. He took off his school uniform, tossed it aside, and started planning his next move.
"We haven't cleared Zhouben yet..."
"The package my older sister asked me to send hasn't been sent yet..."
The boy wandered the streets, as if trying to fill the emptiness in his heart. Before he knew it, the sun had slowly sunk below the horizon, the streetlights had all been turned on, and the number of pedestrians on the street had gradually increased.
As night fell, the city finally began to come alive.
At the same time, Lefève was also very satisfied.
Who is Lefève?
The scene has changed, and Sharp is back in the classroom.
"This……"
Looking at the empty classroom, Sharp was filled with a myriad of thoughts.
No, she's invading her own mind.
The thought that this space was a fabrication of his past memories made Sharp wary again.
"Wow, your clothes are really unique..."
A sharp female voice behind him startled him, and Sharp quickly jumped away, immediately putting some distance between them.
Seeing his overreaction, Lefebvre smiled maliciously.
With a snap of her fingers, her incongruous outfit instantly transformed into a JK uniform.
"Like it?"
She twirled in front of Sharp, her little skirt swaying in the wind, deliberately showing off.
“Oh, right.” Lefie suddenly chuckled. “We’ve known each other for so long, and I still haven’t told you who I am…”
“I am the current High Priestess of the Deer Clan, Anar Lefebvre.” After saying this, she strangely revealed her gleaming white shark teeth.
"Little brother, your background is quite special."
High Priest? Sharp didn't have time to pay attention to her, but the profession she mentioned sounded familiar.
"Are you a charlatan?" he asked, looking at her in surprise.
"Who taught you that word?" Lefie frowned, pretending to be angry.
No wonder the deer markings on her face were more intricate than Naya's. But how could such a sacred and authoritative position be given to such a "carnivorous" woman? So all deer-tribe women are this...unique?
"I can hear what you're saying."
Lefebvre pointed at Sharp, then at the spot where his own head was.
"That's great."
Seeing that the other party really did have some strange abilities, he solemnly pulled out a set of tables and chairs and sat down.
"What exactly do you want? Why are you impersonating Naya? Am I already dead?"
"besides!"
He awkwardly touched the spot she had just licked, feeling uneasy.
"Stop doing that."
She simply licked her lips, as if savoring the memory.
"Your flavor is so unique, I can't resist it."
"Stop with the nonsense, just answer my question!"
I don't know where the courage came from, maybe it was the frustration of having nowhere else to turn that made Sharp a little angry.
Seeing how serious the other person was, Lefève stopped being mischievous and sat down at the single table behind him.
"In exchange of intelligence, you also need to tell us how you got here."
Sharp rolled his eyes and nodded in agreement.
"Now that you've met Naya, you must already know about the Golden Antlers, right?"
"of course I know."
She paused for a rare moment of silence, then said:
“I was summoned by a tremendous energy, right here in the Deer Valley.”
"I was in a village on the outskirts of the glacier when I saw movement in the valley and came here."
"Approximately when?" Sharp is now excessively sensitive to time, afraid of missing any crucial events that could have an impact.
Lefève was very unhappy with his interrogative tone, but he resisted the urge to teach Sharp a lesson.
About three days ago.
Judging from her tone, she didn't seem to be lying. Sharp thought to himself, but he couldn't trust her unconditionally, after all, this person had almost killed him as a villain.
Sharp looked up at her, while Lefève swung her long legs with a half-smile, her eyes full of cunning.
Seeing that he didn't respond to her for a long time, she slid off the table and jumped onto the chair at the opposite table.
"What's wrong, Mr. Sharp? Don't you trust me?"
"No..." he replied evasively.
Since she has the ability to see into everyone's inner thoughts, lying probably won't work on her.
“I can trust you, but you have to help me find Naya.”
I knew you'd ask that. A fleeting, almost imperceptible slyness crossed her face.
"Of course I will, after all, she is also my kinsman."
With those words, Sharp felt much relieved.
"how about you?"
She stood up, looking down at Sharp, her snake-like eyes sweeping over every part of his body.
"From the first moment I saw you, I smelled a scent that didn't belong here."
This interrogation method put Sharp under immense pressure; at that moment, Lefève was like a mountain slowly collapsing towards him.
Say or don't say?
This isn't a scene from some anime where the protagonist can casually reveal their background and identity and walk away unscathed. He can't do that. Sharp doesn't know if revealing his identity will trigger any unnecessary plot developments...
Where is that false god from the beginning? Why didn't he come out to save us at this crucial moment?
So you're really going to clear the land all by yourself?
"Um... I'm a blogger who does wilderness survival. I got lost and ended up here by accident..." Sharp tried his best to sound natural and blurted out the answer he had prepared in advance.
As he said this, he secretly glanced at Lefie, wanting to see how she would react.
She smiled slightly but said nothing more.
Do you believe it?
Just when Sharp thought he could get away with his past, Anal Lefebvre suddenly changed his tune and grabbed Sharp by the collar of his hoodie. The force of the pull almost made Sharp fall.
"Do you have some misunderstanding about my abilities?" Lefie glared angrily, staring directly at Sharp, golden patterns appearing in her pupils. "I hate people who lie casually the most."
She held him firmly in her grip, giving Sharp no chance to move.
"Damn it..." he cursed inwardly. Did this evasion skill only trigger when it was fatally dangerous?!
"You reek of an otherworldly scent. You might fool others, but you can't escape my eyes—"
Her voice gradually became more fervent, as if this was her true self.
"Now, tell me, where exactly are you from?"
"..."
Like a spell, Lefève's eyes gradually became alluring in front of Sharp, and his lips moved irresistibly.
"I am coming from......"
He was still struggling, every cell in his body resisting this forced act.
No, I can't say it, if I do, everything will be over!
Sharp's face turned red, and his eyeballs looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets.
"I am... wearing..."
"brush!!"
In an instant, the classroom in the twilight was completely shattered by the flying arrow. Lefebvre swiftly turned his head, trying to block the sudden arrow.
"boom!"
The moment she released Sharp, the arrow transformed into a burst of golden light and exploded.
Countless threads that had been wrapped around him broke off and burned to ashes.
Smoke and dust from the explosion lingered above the altar of Lumu, and the vegetation on the ground was shaken and bent by the shockwave.
Sharp fell into the grass, landing on his back and aggravating his old injury.
"I've finally waited for you, Naya."
Lefère, though struck, showed no anger; she opened her arms, her eyes blazing with fire.
……
The red-haired girl silently approached Sharp. Seeing this, he forced a smile at her.
The familiar inverted triangle shape, the familiar animal tooth earrings—this time, they're the real deal…
With a gauze in her mouth, Naya began treating Sharp's cuts from the thread without saying a word.
"I'm sorry, Naya—"
Her hand paused for a second after hearing those words.
"Stop talking about this."
Her tone softened slightly, but her coldness toward the enemy remained undiminished.
"Here, eat this."
A fruit-like pit suddenly appeared in Naya's white palm. She held it to Sharp's mouth and put it in.
"This is?"
The moment that round little thing slid into his throat, Sharp felt all the pain and fatigue in his body disappear.
"It's the kind of medicine I was talking about that can cure your back injury."
Naya explained as she bandaged his wound.
So, her disappearance for so long wasn't simply because she was angry, but because she went to gather herbs alone?
Sharp, who already felt ashamed, became even more remorseful.
"Naya! Behind you!!"
His expression was terrified, and he suddenly shouted.
Her powerful legs propelled her into a backflip, swiftly dodging the oncoming filamentous spikes. A large hole was instantly pierced in the spot where she had been standing.
She drew an arrow, nocked it on her bow, and stared coldly at Lefève before her.
"Mus wants to see you."
Caught off guard, she spoke in standard Deer language.
Upon hearing this name, Naya was clearly no longer calm; instead, she felt surprise and confusion.
“Mus can rebuild the entire deer clan with golden antlers, right here…” Lefie took a few steps forward, showing her his sincerity.
“You are not alone, Naya.”
She didn't listen to the hype, and retreated step by step, deliberately keeping her distance from Lefie with a disbelieving expression.
“Tell him that if he wants the golden antlers, he’ll have to step over my dead body.”
Naya retorted in the Deer Clan's language, her voice firm and decisive. She knew that rebirth came at a price, and the Deer Clan had already lost that opportunity; their destruction stemmed from endless greed and tyranny.
"You really don't know what's good for you."
Anarle Lefebvre clearly didn't want to solve the problem with words alone. During a break in the conversation, countless tentacles made of fine threads extended from behind her.
"Just as annoying as your sister."
