Chapter 81 The Young Old Man
Dumbledore looked at Sue, his mouth slightly open, as if he didn't know what to say.
Only after Snape made some subtle gestures did Dumbledore speak: "Young man, please come with me to the Headmaster's office. Minerva, Snape, you two come with me too."
McGonagall glanced at Snape, her eyes full of questions. Snape responded with an "I don't know" look and followed closely behind Dumbledore and Sue. He wanted to see what kind of answer Dumbledore would give.
McGonagall followed with a puzzled look on her face. She felt that this matter was not simple, and Dumbledore clearly had something to tell her.
The four of them slowly went upstairs.
“It has changed a lot. It wasn’t like this when I first started school.”
"Oh, there used to be a cabinet of statues here, which contained many statues of magical creatures. There was also a statue of a bull on this road, but later, because a student was naughty, he bumped into the bull while running around noisily and broke his ribs."
"Oh, and this too. This armor used to be on the way to the potions room, but he often beat up his singing companion, so it was moved here."
On the way to the headmaster's office, Dumbledore kept rambling on about what Hogwarts used to be like, much of which even McGonagall didn't know.
Snape glanced at Professor McGonagall with a speechless expression, as if asking Dumbledore what was wrong with him today, why he was suddenly reminiscing about the past.
Could it be that old Bee Deng is finally about to die of old age?
Finally, after Dumbledore's constant rambling recollections, the group arrived at the headmaster's office.
The principal's office hasn't changed much, except for some more miscellaneous items and a phoenix figurine.
“This office hasn’t changed much.” As Dumbledore spoke, he personally moved a chair over to Sue.
Sue didn't stand on ceremony and readily accepted Dumbledore's kindness, plopping down in the chair.
This scene seemed somewhat reversed, and Snape and McGonagall were momentarily stunned, wondering if the hierarchy had been misrepresented.
“Dumbledore, what’s going on?” McGonagall stepped forward and asked, her eyes darting back and forth between Sue and Dumbledore. Finally, she noticed that Dumbledore was facing the young student in the seat with great respect.
Snape also noticed the strange relationship between Sue and Dumbledore, and immediately kept his mouth shut. He felt that since Dumbledore had called him here, he would let him know the truth.
“Ask me whatever you want, Headmaster Dumbledore. What brings you here?” Sue asked when Dumbledore remained silent.
“Oh, please don’t flatter me, Professor Sue,” Dumbledore said, behaving like a child in Sue’s presence.
When Dumbledore spoke, McGonagall and Snape had very interesting expressions on their faces; they even wondered if they were dreaming.
"Oh! From what you've said, it seems I've finally returned to my own time. Not bad, very good." Seeing that Dumbledore had stopped acting, Sue immediately clapped his hands. Of course, the applause was for himself. "Hogwarts has indeed changed a lot compared to when I was a student. All the Flying Flames on the road are gone. They've all been demolished? And that idiot statue with its chattering mouth, I've wanted to smash it for a long time."
Oh, by the way, kid, what subject did I teach you? Logically speaking, I'd rather be the head of the Ministry of Magic.
Hmm... but thinking about it, it makes sense. With my future strength, I really won't care about the power that the Ministry of Magic brings.
While this remains true now—after all, I must admit I'm somewhat of a game-changer—perhaps I'll grow to dislike Game of Thrones in the future.
McGonagall and Snape were both stunned, a ridiculous thought forming in their minds.
That young man sitting in the chair in front of you is the professor who once taught Dumbledore, an extremely young old man!
Snape's mind was filled with a word he often used in class—immortality!
“Oh yes, Professor.” Dumbledore rubbed his hands together, his face trembling slightly. “You taught us Defense Against the Dark Arts for a while back then, because Professor Hecate’s body was aging too quickly, and you know what the Silent Ones have to endure.”
"Oh, I see." Sue looked at the young man, who was old enough to be his grandfather, with great interest and said with a smile, "Sit down, don't be so nervous, Dumbledore. Was I very strict back then?"
“No, you are very funny, it’s just that I’m a little excited to see you again.” Dumbledore smiled, but Sue could clearly tell that he was faking it.
"It seems I've caused you some psychological trauma." Sue raised an eyebrow at this, but didn't seem to care much.
“No, Professor Sue, it’s just that your power is etched in my memory. I even want to thank you for saving Grindelwald.” Dumbledore’s words were full of sincerity.
When Sue heard Dumbledore's thanks, he was also a little curious. He was quite curious as to why the famous King Grimm, a legendary wizard, needed him to save him.
Could it be that Grindelwald offended him later, and he kindly let Grindelwald go free?
"Tell me, Grindelwald is a legend, who can kill him? It can't be me, can it?"
Dumbledore immediately replied, "It was the Guardian Angelina who made her forgive Grindelwald once."
He dared not refuse to answer Suer's question, after all, the professor who had once taught him could forcibly read and rewrite a person's memories using Legilimency, and could even control the thoughts and actions of everyone in the world through this extremely flawed magic.
“Anna? Oh! That’s not surprising.” Sue’s expression showed some surprise. “Where is she now? By the way, does she have any children studying at Hogwarts?”
“I do not know that, I apologize, Professor. The Guardians are elusive and have not been seen for many years,” Dumbledore replied. “As for the Guardians’ offspring, to my knowledge, His Excellency the Guardian has no mate.”
"Well, I didn't expect Miss Anna to be a staunch advocate of remaining single." Suer was a little surprised. With Anna's talent, it was impossible that no one would pursue her; it was only possible that she herself was unwilling.
“Alright, tell me about you, Dumbledore. Why did you call me?” Sue brought up the question again.
"Professor, have you heard of the Mysterious Man on your way here?" Dumbledore asked.
