Chapter 22 The Cat's School Days
In the morning, Liu Chaoque was woken up by the aroma of Mo Yun's cooking. She stretched and drifted to the table like a ghost, inhaling the fragrance of the food before heading to the bathroom. After a burst of running water, Liu Chaoque emerged refreshed.
"What delicious food are you making?" Liu Chaoque found a seat and looked at the table full of various dishes, feeling it was a bit exaggerated. "Wow, our Cat Chef made so many dishes! I have to try them all. But there are so many, the three of us can't finish them all. I wonder if Cat Chef would be willing to let me take these creations to school to share with my classmates and show them off?"
Liu Chaoque blinked, a smile playing on his lips, and looked at Mo Yun with anticipation.
Mo Yun plated the last dish of stir-fried potatoes, nodded in agreement, and put on a mature air, saying, "Human, you're right. We have to let them see who took good care of you and made you so plump. It's me, the cat chef, Si Mo Yun!" After saying that, it took off its apron, jumped off the table, and walked quickly to Liu Chaoque with its little legs, saying proudly, "Human, quickly pick me up."
"Yes, sir!" Liu Chaoque saluted and said very seriously.
Liu Chaoque took a purple steamed bun cut in half, added some side dishes with chopsticks, and finally some pickled vegetables and puffed snacks. Then he put the full handful of Chinese hamburgers into his own bowl, and while eating, he also put the cat chef's favorite food on his plate.
"I want to eat this."
"It tastes alright (chewing), but there's room for improvement (chewing). Manman, would you like to try this?" Mo Yun said.
"This combination is amazing!" Liu Chaoque expressed his highest praise.
"Don't you even look at who did it?" Mo Yun said proudly.
"Yes, yes, it's Chef Cat. Thank you, Chef Cat," Liu Chaoque said with a smile.
When Si Muli came out, she saw the two of them. One was serving Si Moyun like a Buddha early in the morning, and the other had rice crumbs all over his mustache and was eating with great enthusiasm.
"Hey, Muli, hurry up and wash your face, try Chef Cat's cooking." Liu Chaoque waved when he saw him come out and enthusiastically promoted the food, saying, "These are all made by Chef Cat, they're especially delicious."
"No, not really," the cat said hesitantly.
"Go wash up quickly, or it'll all be gone if you dawdle," Liu Chaoque said mischievously.
"Okay, okay, it's not that delicious, is it?" Mu Li said weakly.
……
"Drink some water." After washing up, Mu Li filled two glasses of warm water from the kitchen and handed them to Liu Chaoque.
"Thanks." Liu Chaoque smiled and took the water, gulping it down. "Just what I needed."
Mu Li sat in the chair, looking at the large pile of coarse grains and food on the table. She propped her head up with her hand and pointed at the dishes in confusion, saying, "This looks so ordinary. Are we going to eat this today?"
Seeing his expression, Liu Chaoque understood. She put down the Big Mac in her hand, wiped her mouth, and said teasingly, "You haven't even eaten it and you're already predicting its failure. That's not nice, boss."
She slapped her forehead: "That's right, I forgot. Young Master Chongyue owns a mansion worth tens of millions and has hundreds of millions in assets. I guess in the past few years he was eating French food and drinking red wine, cutting beef that was flown in from Australia, smelling fresh roses from the Netherlands, and drinking red wine that was flown in from France. With the help of servants, he lived a life where everything was done for him. He had never seen these coarse grains before. I guess you would find them hard to swallow."
"Stop being silly," Si Muli said, displeased. "I'll eat it."
Then he picked up a flower-shaped steamed bun with his chopsticks and ate it dry. He choked and his throat was sore. Liu Chaoque clicked his tongue and handed him a glass of water.
"Is this stuff really dry? Is it even edible?" Si Muli stared wide-eyed at the steamed bun in her hand.
"You can't eat what people eat?" Liu Chaoque glanced at him.
"30," Si Muli said calmly. "I want to eat steak and bacon with eggs."
"If you don't have these, just make do with some oatmeal porridge." Liu Chaoque ladled a bowl of oatmeal porridge from the pressure cooker and handed it to him. The oatmeal and milk flavors were rich, the porridge was thick, and it had a sweet taste. Si Muli then fell silent.
But seeing Liu Chaoque putting something into his steamed bun and eating without even looking up, Si Muli looked at her own half-eaten food and tentatively picked up some shredded potatoes and greens, saying, "Hmm? Seems alright." This novel way of eating piqued Si Muli's interest.
But he always felt something was missing, and he wanted to ask Liu Chaoque for help, but he was too embarrassed to ask.
Liu Chaoque was charmed by his somewhat aggrieved look and took the initiative to speak to him: "Look, it's still pretty delicious, isn't it?"
"Hmm." He didn't argue anymore and finally said, "This great one wants to try yours." But I have to say, the characters in this otome game are all incredibly good-looking. Oh my, I just casually picked up a handsome young man. How can I feel so accomplished?
Liu Chaoque looked at the Big Mac in his hand, wiped his mouth with a handkerchief, and said, "Okay." The boss, well, let him be a little arrogant.
"This is still a bit dry," Si Muli frowned.
"If you're going to drink, then drink water." Liu Chaoque pushed the water glass away. "You poured it yourself."
"Oh." Si Muli silently took it, took a sip, and then looked at Liu Chaoque expectantly: "Si Man, I want to put caviar on it..."
"It's not good to eat too much salt in the morning. Just a small spoonful, no more than that." Liu Chaoque took out caviar from the refrigerator. The top shelf of the refrigerator was piled high with the fresh vegetables they had bought that day. Then they bought a freezer so that all the food could fit in. Si Muli even thought their house was too small and was thinking of moving them to a different house.
Liu Chaoque asked him if he had a house near the military compound, and Si Muli didn't say anything. However, she no longer complained about the house. After all, it was a great guarantee for his personal safety.
Liu Chaoque opened a box, scooped out a small spoonful and stuffed it into his steamed bun. Si Muli ate it with satisfaction. Since it was already opened, Liu Chaoque also gave the chef and himself two small spoonfuls.
After finishing his meal, Liu Chaoque decided to go to school.
Si Muli grabbed Liu Chaoque's hand and demanded, "I want to go to school with you too. You're my bodyguard, so you have to protect me closely. If you go to school and leave me at home, and something happens to me, you'll lose all your money."
“That’s 50.” He wagged his finger, his smile dangerous yet alluring.
“But what identity do you want to use to enter our school? I don’t want to be involved in any strange rumors. However, if you become a lion cat, I might consider it, but it depends on whether you’re willing. Besides, studying is boring, you’d be better off staying at home.” Liu Chaoque patiently explained, glancing at his watch as he waited for his reply.
Her response was a soft "poof," and the man vanished from his spot, replaced by a white lion cat lazily lying on the ground, casually lifting its eyelids at her.
"Alright," Liu Chaoque picked up the white cat, "then you'd better behave."
She then looked at Mo Yun and said, "Manman will take Xiaolizi to school first. If all goes well, she will take you there later too."
"Goodbye, Manman. I'll miss you." Si Moyun waved his little paws, then reaffirmed his determination to transform. Only by transforming could he go to school with Manman!
"Goodbye."
At the bottom of the stairs, Xu Wangchuan was waiting downstairs. He leaned against the handrail, twirling his car keys, his face expressionless.
When he saw Liu Chaoque come down, he smiled and looked up at her, saying, "Good morning."
Why did the sunlight seem even brighter? She fanned herself with her hand, wondering to herself.
When she walked up to him, Xu Wangchuan noticed the kitten she was holding: "Is this your new friend?" he asked curiously, "May I touch it?"
Liu Chaoque hesitated, "We need to consult his opinion on this."
Mu Li glanced at Xu Wangchuan with disdain and turned her head to the other side.
She pointed at the cat and shook her head: "He just refused."
Xu Wangchuan: ...
"Well, that's a real shame. But are you going to take him to school?" He said it was a shame, but he still just looked at her, as if he didn't really want to pet the cat.
"Can't I?" Liu Chaoque sighed. "My cat is a pitiful cat. It was abandoned by its previous owner and I finally managed to tame it and kidnap it. It's not afraid of strangers and is super clingy to me. You know, I really can't refuse this kind of thing."
“That’s easy. Just put him in your backpack and sneak him in. Then let him sunbathe on the school lawn. Our school has a lot of free-roaming cats, right? What’s your cat’s name?” Xu Wangchuan hesitated.
“His full name is Si Muli, I call him Little Pear,” Liu Chaoque replied.
"Oh, little pear." Xu Wangchuan smiled meaningfully. The white cat's ears twitched slightly, and it looked up at him without saying a word.
"What's wrong? Doesn't it sound nice?" Liu Chaoque was also puzzled. She had racked her brains to come up with this name, but the first person she met expressed their dislike for it. What was she going to do?
"No, it sounds nice." Xu Wangchuan immediately shook his head. He looked at Mu Li and said with a smile, "It can help Xiao Li make some friends at school." That way, the cat won't be so clingy to you, Xu Wangchuan thought to himself.
“That’s fine too,” Liu Chaoque said.
The two, a human and a cat, engaged in a one-minute argument, which was eventually suppressed by Liu Chaoque's force, leaving Mu Li feeling wronged.
She picked up the cat bag that could hold Muli. Unlike the styles on the market, the cat bag was made entirely of sequins, referencing the production method of one-way glass. It was made by Teacher Jianyu and Cat Fan together to create a highly concealed cat bag with ventilation holes and a full view. The outside is a cool backpack, while the inside allows for a clear view of the outside without making the cat feel suffocated.
Xu Wangchuan's comment: "Professional!"
