Becoming a God in Another World 1

Chapter 9 Canglan Continent (3) After the War

Lin Yi and his men achieved a crushing victory over the invading enemy. Looking at the scattered corpses of soldiers from both sides, Lin Yi was filled with mixed emotions, a sense of sorrow welling up within him. He sighed inwardly, realizing how painful the cruelty of war always was. However, he knew this battle was merely one step in a long journey, and many more challenges awaited them in the future.

He turned to face the surviving soldiers, his gaze resolute, and said, "Brothers, though we have won, the war is far from over. We must remember today's lessons, constantly strengthen ourselves, and protect our homeland!" The soldiers responded in unison, their morale soaring.

Lin Yi led his team to begin clearing the battlefield, burying the dead, and treating the wounded. Amidst the chaos, they worked hard to restore order and prepare for future battles.

After a busy day, Lin Yi, Zhao Peng, and the other team leaders returned to their tent. He sat down wearily, pondering the next steps. Just then, Zhao Peng entered, his face filled with worry.

"Brother Lin, while this victory is cause for celebration, we have also suffered heavy losses. What should we do next?"

Lin Yi paused for a moment, then slowly said, "We must intensify our training and improve our strength. At the same time, we must strengthen our reconnaissance of enemy movements and prepare in advance."

Zhao Peng nodded: "I agree. But our resources are limited, so how can we better achieve these goals?"

Lin Yi's eyes lit up: "I have an idea. We can organize an elite squad to infiltrate behind enemy lines for reconnaissance and sabotage. This way, we can gather intelligence and disrupt the enemy's deployment."

"But we're only passively responding to this orcish attack, which isn't what we want," Lin Yi continued, "and we can't always be on the defensive; we have to take the initiative." Zhao Peng frowned slightly, asking worriedly, "But isn't that too risky?" Lin Yi patted his shoulder, saying confidently, "Exactly. That's why this team needs top-tier warriors and a meticulously planned strategy. As long as the plan is sound, we'll definitely succeed!" Zhao Peng thought for a moment, then finally nodded in support.

A few days later, after rigorous selection, an elite squad personally led by Lin Yi was formed. They carried an important mission and quietly infiltrated enemy territory...

Lin Yi was taking a huge risk in this intelligence gathering operation, striving to make long-term plans for winning this war! Therefore, Lin Yi's role as the special commander of this intelligence gathering operation was particularly important and carried a heavy responsibility! Leading his elite squad, Lin Yi carefully moved through the enemy camp, skillfully avoiding enemy patrols and gradually approaching the enemy's core area. Here, they discovered some crucial intelligence, including the enemy's troop distribution, strategic plans, and logistical supply lines.

However, just as they were preparing to retreat, they were unfortunately discovered by the enemy. Facing the enemy's encirclement, Lin Yi remained calm and fearless, leading his squad in a fierce battle.

After a thrilling breakout battle, they finally escaped and brought the intelligence back to camp. This intelligence provided crucial information for the army to formulate strategies, enabling them to gain the upper hand in the ensuing battles.

The next morning, Lin Yi arrived at the command post and handed the intelligence to the general. After reviewing it, the general smiled with delight.

"Well done, Lin Yi!" the general praised. "This intelligence is crucial to us. Now we have a greater advantage and can develop more effective tactics."

Lin Yi smiled modestly, "This is everyone's achievement; everyone in the team has put in tremendous effort."

Subsequently, Lin Yi and the general studied the battle plan together. Based on intelligence, they adjusted their deployment and decided to launch a decisive attack on the enemy.

A few nights later, under the bright moonlight, Lin Yi led his army stealthily towards the enemy camp. In the darkness before dawn, they launched a surprise attack, catching the enemy completely off guard.

After a fierce battle, the enemy was finally defeated. Cheers of victory echoed across the battlefield, and the soldiers' tired faces beamed with joy.

Looking at the smoke-filled battlefield, Lin Yi felt a surge of accomplishment. This victory was not only proof of his abilities but also a reward for all his comrades. He knew that more challenges awaited them in the future, but they were ready.

The peace and tranquility of Canglan City, achieved at the cost of heavy casualties among its soldiers and civilians in this battle to defend their homeland, have been secured! Lin Yi has racked his brains and used every trick in the book to outwit and outmaneuver the orcs in this war! If this war is not won, it will be a huge disgrace. The entire population of Canglan City is hoping for an end to this pointless territorial struggle that has resulted in so many casualties! At this moment, Lin Yi, with an unwavering determination to win and to give an account to the people of Canglan City, has no choice but to win this seemingly pointless war!

Tomorrow, Lin Yi will lead the main force of Canglan City into a fierce battle against the orcs for territory! It's safe to say that this battle will determine whether the territory will ultimately belong to the humans or the orcs!

With a heavy heart, Lin Yi addressed the crowd: "This battle concerns the lives and future of the people of Canglan City. We must annihilate the orcs on the battlefield! Do you have the confidence?" Lin Yi turned to face the crowd and shouted: "Brothers, tomorrow will be our decisive battle against the orcs! We must fight to the death for Canglan City and for our families!" The soldiers shouted in unison, their morale soaring.

As night fell, Lin Yi stood alone outside his tent, gazing into the distance. He knew all too well the difficulty of tomorrow's battle, but he was fearless. He gripped his sword tightly, silently resolving to protect this land.

Alright, that concludes today's pre-battle meeting. Meeting adjourned. To minimize casualties in tomorrow's battle, let's all eat well, sleep well, and work together tonight! Those remaining tonight will increase patrols to prevent orc attacks. Night deepened, and apart from the footsteps of the patrols, the camp was silent. Lin Yi returned to his tent but found it difficult to sleep. He closed his eyes, recalling the days he fought alongside his comrades, his heart filled with emotion. Before he knew it, dawn was breaking. Lin Yi rose early, checked his equipment, and went to the training ground, where he saw the soldiers already fully equipped and ready to go. Their eyes were resolute, full of fighting spirit. As the bugle sounded, the army set off, advancing towards the orcs. On the battlefield, the sounds of battle shook the heavens. Lin Yi led the charge, guiding his soldiers in a fierce fight. Blood and smoke filled the air, but they showed no sign of retreat. Everyone knew this was a battle for survival.

The battle between the two sides had unknowingly lasted half a day, and the outcome was almost decided; it all depended on which side could hold out. Other factors were not even considered! Just then, the orc leader appeared. He was enormous, wielding a battle axe, and exuded a terrifying aura. Lin Yi, undaunted, stepped forward and engaged the orc in fierce combat.

The two exchanged blows, neither giving an inch. Amidst the flashing axes and clashing swords, the surrounding soldiers watched the fierce battle with bated breath.

Finally, Lin Yi found the orc chieftain's weakness and stabbed him in a vital spot with his sword. The orc chieftain fell to the ground with a thud, and the remaining orcs began to retreat.

Lin Yi watched the retreating orcs and breathed a sigh of relief. The battle had been arduous, but they had finally won. However, he knew this was only temporary peace; many more challenges awaited them. He turned to his soldiers, raised his sword high, and shouted, "We have won! But we cannot let our guard down; we must continue to defend Canglan City!" The soldiers cheered loudly, and following Lin Yi, with weary but determined steps, they returned to Canglan City.

The ceasefire agreement was signed the following afternoon by representatives of the orc tribe. Lin Yi, representing Canglan City, signed the agreement with the orcs. Both sides agreed that the orcs would no longer invade Canglan City, and Canglan City would not initiate war.

Peace arrived, and people celebrated the victory. Lin Yi became a hero, revered and loved by all.

However, Lin Yi was well aware of the fragility of peace. He decided to strengthen the defenses of Canglan City and train a more powerful army to prevent the orcs from attacking again.

At the same time, he also actively established connections with other surrounding cities to jointly defend against potential threats.

Thanks to Lin Yi's efforts, Canglan City gradually prospered and became an impregnable fortress.

The war has finally come to an end. Lin Yi breathed a heavy sigh of relief as the two armies clashed. He exclaimed that it was no easy feat to win a war where the military forces were so unequal! Lin Yi stood on the city wall, gazing into the distance.

He knew that peace was only temporary and that countless challenges awaited him in the future.

However, he was already prepared.

He will lead the people of Canglan City to meet every challenge and safeguard the peace of this land.

In two or three months, the weather in Canglan City on the Canglan Continent will gradually turn chilly. It will be time for the city's residents to purchase winter supplies and other necessities, and Lin Yi will begin preparing for winter defenses. He organizes the city's craftsmen to expedite the production of defensive equipment while simultaneously sending out scouts to gather intelligence on the beastmen. As winter approaches, Lin Yi worries that the beastmen might launch an attack during the cold season. One day, Lin Yi receives news that a nearby small town has been attacked by the beastmen. He immediately leads a squad of elite troops to provide support, hoping to stop the beastmen's atrocities in time. During the fierce battle, Lin Yi discovers that the beastmen seem to have a scheme; their actions are unusually strange. Could there be a larger conspiracy hidden behind this? Lin Yi decides to investigate further and uncover the beastmen's true purpose.

That afternoon, Lin Yi returned to the city lord's mansion with the investigative intelligence and discussed the orcs' next move with everyone. With a grave expression, Lin Yi told everyone the investigation results: "This attack by the orcs was not accidental; they seem to be searching for something. We must find their target as soon as possible, or the consequences will be unimaginable." Everyone expressed their willingness to assist Lin Yi in the investigation.

Subsequently, Lin Yi dispatched various elites to conduct reconnaissance in the areas inhabited by the orcs. At the same time, he himself also traveled around, trying to find clues.

By chance, Lin Yi met a mysterious old man. The old man told him that the beastmen might be searching for an ancient artifact, said to possess immense power. Lin Yi's heart stirred; could this be the beastmen's true purpose? He decided to follow the old man to find the artifact's whereabouts.

Unbeknownst to Lin Yi, more than half a month had passed since he accompanied the mysterious old man to investigate the beast tribe. Lin Yi and the old man arrived at a desolate valley, filled with an eerie atmosphere. The old man pointed to a faintly visible cave ahead and said, "That relic might be inside." Lin Yi cautiously approached the cave, when suddenly, a ferocious beast charged out. Lin Yi instantly went into battle mode, engaging the beast in a life-or-death struggle. After a fierce battle, Lin Yi finally defeated the beast and entered the cave. Deep within the cave, he discovered the ancient relic—a jade pendant radiating a mysterious light. Just as Lin Yi was about to examine the jade pendant closely, a wave of dizziness washed over him, and his vision began to blur…

It wasn't until late at night that Lin Yi groggily awoke to find himself in an unfamiliar stone chamber. The walls were covered in ancient runes, exuding a mysterious aura. He gripped the jade pendant, feeling a strange energy flowing through his hand.

At that moment, the door to the stone chamber slowly opened, and a figure walked in. Lin Yi looked closely and saw that it was the mysterious old man. The old man smiled at him, a hint of appreciation flashing in his eyes.

“You have passed the test, young man,” the old man said. “This jade pendant is an ancient artifact, containing boundless power. But it also hides great danger; if used improperly, it will bring disastrous consequences.”

Lin Yi knew the weight of his responsibility, and he resolved to bring the jade pendant back to the city to discuss how to proceed with the others. Guided by the old man, Lin Yi left the stone chamber and began his journey home.

However, he was unaware that after he left, a low chuckle echoed from the stone chamber…
