The Eldest Daughter Returns with Power

Chapter 9 Returning to the Shen Family

The aura drew ever closer. Finally, a colossal figure appeared at the doorway. It was a massive black panther, its fur glossy black, emanating a powerful demonic aura.

The black panther's eyes gleamed crimson, and it opened its blood-red maw, revealing sharp fangs, and let out a deep roar.

"Oh no, it's Black Panther!" The second senior brother's expression changed drastically. He hadn't expected to encounter Black Panther here.

The black panther pounced on the second senior brother like an arrow released from a bow. The second senior brother dodged to the side and swung his sword at the black panther.

The black panther nimbly dodged his attack, then slammed its claws down on him. The second senior brother barely managed to block the panther's blow, but several deep cuts were still inflicted on his arm. Blood stained his sleeve, but he gritted his teeth and continued fighting.

At the same time, Su Yunruo and the others joined the battle. However, the black panther was powerful, easily dodging their attacks and continuing to launch attacks against them.

In the fierce battle, Su Yunruo discovered the black panther's weakness was its eyes. Concentrating her energy, she unleashed a sharp sword strike, directly hitting the panther's eye. The panther roared in pain and retreated. Seizing this opportunity, Su Yunruo launched another attack, piercing the panther's throat with her sword.

The black panther collapsed to the ground, twitched a few times, and then lay still. Su Yunruo felt a huge weight lifted from her shoulders; all her strength seemed to have been drained from her body, and her clothes were soaked with sweat.

"That was close! I almost died here," Luo Chun said, still shaken.

"Yes, thankfully we discovered its weakness in time," Su Yunruo said.

“However, the dangers here don’t end there; we must leave as soon as possible.” The second senior brother nodded in agreement. After quickly treating his wounds, the group didn’t rest any longer. They packed up and set off on their journey home. They traversed dense forests and crossed towering mountains, finally leaving this dangerous place. As they left the forest, Su Yunruo looked back, her heart filled with mixed emotions.

Upon returning to the Shen family, Master Shen and Old Master Shen were so shocked to learn that they had rescued Luo Chun and fought several battles with the Shadow Cult that their jaws nearly dropped to the ground.

"It's truly a stroke of luck that you were able to escape danger this time," the master said.

"It's all thanks to Ruo'er. She discovered the strangeness of the chair in the main hall, and it was also my junior sister who discovered the weakness of the black panther we encountered in the dense forest, which allowed us to defeat it," the second senior brother said.

The master looked at Su Yunruo, a hint of appreciation flashing in his eyes, as if to say, "Well done, girl!" "Ruo'er, you did very well. If you encounter danger again in the future, you must protect yourself."

Su Yunruo nodded slightly, indicating that she understood. She secretly rejoiced; although the mission to rescue the Shadow Cult had been perilous, it had also revealed some of the Shadow Cult's strength. However, they knew full well that the Shadow Cult would not give up so easily.

Now that Luo Chun has been rescued, it's time for you all to set off for Fengyang City. There are still five days until the martial arts tournament begins. You can depart tomorrow and arrive the day after. Master said.

Su Yunruo and her group set off for Fengyang City early the next morning. They were cautious and vigilant throughout the journey, fearing any unforeseen events. The first two days passed uneventfully, and they arrived in Fengyang City around noon on the third day.

After entering the city, they found an inn to stay in and rested for a while. The second senior brother went to contact the eldest senior brother, while Yunruo, disguised as a man, took Luochun to a teahouse to gather information. Su Yunruo found a seat by the window and ordered a pot of tea and several plates of snacks. She and Luochun drank their tea while paying attention to the conversations of the people around them.

"I heard this martial arts tournament is going to be very exciting, with masters from all the major sects coming."

"That's right, I heard there are also some mysterious figures participating."

"Hey, have you heard? Recently, a group of bandits has appeared in the city, specializing in robbing passing merchants."

Upon hearing this, Su Yunruo's heart stirred. She recalled her experiences on the road; it seemed that Fengyang City was not peaceful after all.

Just then, a familiar voice reached her ears.

"Junior Brother, I've finally found you." Su Yunruo looked up and saw a tall man walk in. It was none other than her senior brother.

"Senior Brother! Second Senior Brother came to find you. Did you meet?" Su Yunruo stood up and exclaimed happily.

The eldest brother walked to the table and sat down. "Not yet. I had an appointment here to discuss some business, and I saw you as soon as I arrived. Did you have a smooth journey? Did you encounter any trouble?"

"Fortunately, we only encountered a few minor incidents on the way," Su Yunruo briefly recounted their experience with the Shadow Cult.

After listening, the eldest disciple frowned slightly. "The Shadow Cult acts mysteriously, and this martial arts tournament is probably not simple either. We must be extra careful."

“Yes, I know,” Su Yunruo nodded.

"By the way, senior brother, Master and Grandmaster are currently at the Shen family in Qifeng City."

"That's good. I was worried because I hadn't received any replies from Master." The eldest brother breathed a sigh of relief and then said, "I just received news that this martial arts tournament seems to be hiding some unknown secrets. It is said that someone is secretly plotting a big conspiracy."

Su Yunruo's heart tightened. "A grand conspiracy? Could it be aimed at us?"

The eldest disciple shook his head. "It's still unclear. But we can't let our guard down. We must be vigilant about the movements of all sides in this martial arts tournament." Su Yunruo said with a determined look, "Eldest disciple, no matter what, we must be careful. We absolutely cannot let those people succeed!"

Just then, a waiter approached, interrupting their conversation. "Sir, your food is here!" the waiter said, placing the dishes and wine on the table. Seeing this, the eldest brother waved his hand dismissively, "Eat first, we'll talk about other things later." After they had finished eating and drinking, the eldest brother looked at Su Yunruo and his second junior brother, "Junior sister, you and Luo Chun go back to the inn to rest. Your second senior brother and I will go to the city lord's mansion to see if we can find out more information."

“Okay, Senior Brother. Be careful yourselves too,” Su Yunruo instructed. Then, the Senior Brother and Second Senior Brother left first. Su Yunruo and Luo Chun returned to the inn. On the way, Su Yunruo noticed several suspicious-looking people behind her. A sense of unease welled up inside her, but she pretended to be nonchalant. Back in her room, Su Yunruo immediately closed the doors and windows. “Luo Chun, I have a feeling someone is following us. From now on, we need to be more careful.” Luo Chun nodded nervously. “Yes, Miss, I’ll listen to you.” Just then, a slight noise came from outside the door. Su Yunruo gestured for Luo Chun to be quiet, then quietly went to the door and peeked through the crack. She saw a dark shadow flash by…

After a few moments, there were no more sounds outside the door. The two looked at each other and breathed a sigh of relief. Then they returned to the table and sat down, poured themselves a glass of water, and chatted idly while waiting for their senior brother and second senior brother to return from the city lord's mansion.

Time passed by, and the sky gradually darkened. Just as dinner was approaching, there was finally a knock on the door.

"Junior sister, open the door, we're back." The eldest brother's voice rang out from outside the door.

Luo Chun quickly stepped forward and opened the door. The eldest and second eldest brothers entered the room and sat down. Yun Ruo hurriedly got up and poured a glass of water for each of them.

Without any hesitation, the two picked up their cups and drank them down in one gulp, then let out a long sigh of relief and slowly steadied their breathing.
