The Eldest Daughter Returns with Power

Chapter 8 Rescuing Luo Chun

"What exactly do you want?" Su Yunruo shouted sharply. Her eyes were filled with anger and defiance, and she gripped her sword tightly in her hand, as if ready to draw it at any moment.

The leader sneered, his laughter echoing through the empty palace, sending chills down everyone's spine. With a flick of his finger, countless dark figures appeared all around, quickly surrounding them like ghosts.

"I will show you the consequences of opposing the Shadow Cult." The leader's voice echoed in the empty palace, carrying boundless majesty and ruthlessness. His eyes gleamed with a sinister light, as if proclaiming the arrival of death.

A fierce battle was about to unfold. Su Yunruo and her second senior brother stood back to back, exchanged a trusting glance, and then faced the attack with all their might. They used every trick in the book to fight the shadowy figure to the death. Amidst the flashing blades and splattering blood, the battle was exceptionally intense.

However, the shadowy figures kept surging in, and they gradually felt overwhelmed. Despite their valiant resistance, the enemy's numbers were simply too great, and the men they had brought were gradually being wiped out.

Just then, Su Yunruo noticed a strange mechanism under the leader's seat. An idea struck her, and she whispered to her second senior brother, "Senior brother, look at that chair. I'll distract him, you go check it out." With that, Su Yunruo rushed towards the leader, and her second senior brother took the opportunity to approach the chair. Upon getting closer, he discovered a mechanism, which he immediately destroyed, and a hidden door slowly opened.

"Go!" he shouted, leading Luo Chun without hesitation into the hidden door. Su Yunruo followed closely behind, stepping into the unknown darkness...

Behind the hidden door was a narrow passage, which Su Yunruo and her second senior brother led Luo Chun through swiftly. Their figures moved like ghosts through the darkness, while the leader of the Shadow Cult roared furiously behind them, his voice deafening like thunder, as if the entire world trembled. At the same time, countless dark figures emerged from all directions, like a pack of hungry wolves, relentlessly pursuing Su Yunruo and the others.

An eerie atmosphere permeated the passage, the dim light blurring everything. Only their hurried footsteps and heavy breathing echoed in the air. Each step was filled with tension and fear, as if they might be swallowed by the darkness at any moment.

"I wonder where this passage leads," the second senior brother said in a low voice, a hint of unease in his eyes. He carefully touched the wall, feeling its cold touch, and a strange chill rose in his heart.

Su Yunruo gritted her teeth, her eyes resolute and determined. She knew this was not the time to be afraid; only by bravely facing her predicament could she find a way out. She took a deep breath and quickened her pace forward.

They continued walking down the passage, which grew narrower and narrower, and the ceiling above them seemed to lower and lower. Finally, they reached the end of the passage, where an ancient stone door blocked their way.

The stone door was covered with strange runes, which shimmered faintly, seemingly containing some kind of mysterious power. There was a groove in the center of the door, clearly indicating that some kind of key was needed to open it.

"What's behind this door?" Luo Chun's voice trembled slightly as she stared intently at the ancient stone door, her heart filled with curiosity and fear.

“I don’t know, but I believe that as long as we find the key, we can open this door,” Su Yunruo comforted him, even though she herself wasn’t sure. She didn’t want Luo Chun to despair, because they had to maintain their faith and courage.

So the group began searching for clues. They carefully observed their surroundings, trying to find any trace of the key. Finally, they discovered a stone tablet hidden in a corner, with some strange characters carved on it.

"What does this mean?" the second senior brother asked, frowning.

Su Yunruo carefully studied the text, and suddenly, a look of surprise appeared on her face. "I understand! It mentions something called the 'Key of Shadow,' which is said to be able to open this door only by possessing it."

"The Key of Shadows? How do we find it?" Luo Chun asked anxiously.

“Based on the description in this text, the Key of Shadow should be nearby. Perhaps we can find it by solving the puzzle or exploring other rooms,” Su Yunruo calmly analyzed.

So they began their search for the Shadow Key. After some effort, they finally found a small box hidden in the wall. Inside, as expected, was a black key with a shadow engraved on it.

"Is this the Key of Shadows?" The second senior brother picked up the key, a hint of excitement flashing in his eyes.

“That’s right, let’s quickly try to open that door,” Su Yunru urged.

They took the Shadow Key and walked to the stone door, inserting the key into the groove. With a soft click, the stone door slowly rose, revealing an exit to the outside world.

"Great! We've finally found a way out!" Luo Chun cheered excitedly.

However, when they stepped out of the stone gate, they found themselves in a pitch-black forest. Moonlight filtered through the dense foliage, creating an eerie and terrifying atmosphere.

"What do we do next?" the second senior brother asked, his voice trembling slightly.

"Let's find a safe place to rest and recover our strength first," Su Yunru suggested, her eyes scanning the surroundings warily, afraid of encountering danger again.

So they began searching for a suitable place to stay in the forest. Fortunately, they soon found an abandoned hut, which, though simple, at least offered some shelter.

After entering the cabin, Su Yunru lit a campfire, and the warm firelight made everyone feel much more at ease. They sat around the campfire, eating dry rations to replenish their energy.

"Although we have temporarily escaped the pursuit of the Shadow Cult, we still cannot let our guard down!" Su Yunruo said with a serious expression. "This place is fraught with danger, and a slight mistake could lead to utter ruin. Therefore, we must be on high alert to deal with any possible dangers."

Luo Chun looked at Su Yunruo and her second senior brother with gratitude, tears welling in her eyes: "Miss, Second Young Master, thank you so much for saving me. If it weren't for you, I would probably be dead by now..."

The second senior brother smiled and waved his hand: "No need to be so polite. You are Junior Sister's person, so it's only right and proper that I save you."

Su Yunruo gently patted Luo Chun's shoulder to encourage him: "Don't think too much. What we need to do now is to unite and find a way to leave this place together."

After discussing it, the group decided to find a safe place to rest before dawn and continue their journey after daybreak. The forest at night was far too dangerous, and acting blindly would only put them in grave danger.

Under the glow of the campfire, they gradually drifted off to sleep. The mountain forest was unusually quiet at night, broken only by the faint sound of the wind and the chirping of insects. Moonlight filtered through the leaves, illuminating their weary faces. However, in her sleep, Su Yunruo felt an ominous premonition creeping into her heart. She abruptly opened her eyes, looked around, but found everything normal. There were only dark trees and a burning campfire around her, nothing out of the ordinary. "Could it just be my imagination?" she murmured to herself, her unease growing stronger.

Just then, a gentle breeze blew by, carrying a few fallen leaves. The leaves swirled in the air before finally settling on the ground. Su Yunruo's gaze followed the leaves and suddenly noticed a pair of red eyes staring at them from the distant woods. Those eyes gleamed with an evil light, as if concealing endless malice.

"Oh no!" Su Yunruo exclaimed, immediately waking everyone up.

"What happened?" The second senior brother rubbed his eyes and asked alertly.

“There are two red eyes over there; they look very unusual,” Su Yunruo said, pointing to the woods in the distance.

"Could it be some kind of wild beast?" Luo Chun asked nervously.

“It doesn’t seem like it. Its eyes were full of hostility; it shouldn’t be an ordinary animal.” Su Yunru shook her head.

“We need to be careful, there might be danger,” the second senior brother warned. He stood up, picked up his weapon, and prepared to deal with any potential threats. The group cautiously approached the woods, warily observing their surroundings. Those red eyes remained fixed on them silently, showing no sign of retreat.

"What is that?" Luo Chun asked in horror.

"I don't know, but they're definitely not a good person." Su Yunruo gripped her longsword tightly, preparing to deal with any possible attack. Suddenly, those red eyes vanished into the woods like a ghost.

Immediately afterward, a powerful aura swept over them, as if a ferocious beast was approaching. "Quick, hide!" Su Yunruo shouted, pulling Luo Chun into the small house.

The second senior brother stood at the door, weapon in hand, vigilantly watching the commotion outside. His heart pounded like a drum, and his palms were slightly sweaty; he had never been so nervous before.
