Chapter 55 Sakayanagi's Anger

While they were working hard in the library, Kito, Hashimoto, and Kamuro were on their way back to Class A.

Kanzaki and Sakayanagi saw the three returning home disappointed from afar.

Kanzaki had a hint of a smile in his eyes; he seemed satisfied with the situation.

Sakayanagi's expression was not good; she was clearly dissatisfied with the failure of the operation.

Kanzaki said softly to Sakayanagi, "Looks like you lost." There was a hint of mockery in his voice, as if he was enjoying Sakayanagi's displeasure.

Sakayanagi rolled her eyes gracefully: "Kanzaki-kun seems quite happy. Is it worth being so happy about my failure?"

Kanzaki smiled and said, "Of course, I find it hard to believe that you could lose even once with your special ability. If it weren't for my inappropriate identity, I would really like to stay and listen."

"Oh dear, it's because Kanzaki-kun's father wouldn't stand firmly on my father's side. That way, Kanzaki-kun can listen in right next to me."

Kanzaki remained silent. Unlike Sakayanagi, he couldn't directly influence his father's decisions, and it was none of his business to comment on his father's choices.

His immediate priority was to leave this place quickly so that no one would see them talking here.

"It's none of my business to talk about my father's affairs. I'm leaving."

Sakayanagi watched Kanzaki's departing figure, his expression dark and unreadable.

When Hashimoto and his two companions entered, they immediately sensed a tense atmosphere. Sakayanagi sat in his seat, his face pale, clearly in a bad mood.

Sakayanagi's gaze was sharp as a knife, and she coldly asked, "Why didn't you succeed?"

Kamuro stood before Sakayanagi, a flicker of fear crossing her face as she looked at Sakayanagi's icy expression. She quickly handed him the "Research on Supernatural Abilities," saying, "I've gathered all the information I needed, and I've also memorized the contents of the 'Complete Guide to Difficult Supernatural Abilities'..."

Before she could finish speaking, Sakayanagi interrupted her: "Why did Uchida-sensei find out about you?"

Kamuro clearly hadn't expected Sakayanagi to find out about this. She was taken aback and looked at the other two with suspicion.

Sakayanagi's tone was icy as he questioned again, "Tell me, who was it that refused to leave after reading the contents and insisted on confronting them in the library?"

Hashimoto and Kito exchanged an awkward glance, their expressions tinged with embarrassment. They had both wanted to impress Sakayanagi and take down the entire B-class, but they had botched it all.

Kamuro quietly recounted how they were discovered, then shifted the blame to the rambling Ito Sawa: "It was Ito Sawa who suddenly stepped forward, forcing us to..."

Sakayanagi's face was ashen, and her voice was filled with anger: "You have really disappointed me."

Her gaze swept over Hashimoto and Kito, and both of them lowered their heads, not daring to look directly into Sakayanagi's eyes.

"Do you know how influential Professor Uchida is? I've warned you a thousand times, but you've all ignored me."

Sakayanagi's voice rose a few decibels, and she slammed her hand heavily on the table, making a loud bang.

This failure led her to cut off all help from Ms. Uchida, which inevitably angered even the usually calm Uchida.

Hashimoto and Kito were both startled; they knew that Sakayanagi was truly angry this time.

Hashimoto apologized softly, her voice trembling slightly: "Your Highness, we were wrong, we will definitely do it next time..."

“There won’t be a next time.” Sakayanagi interrupted them, a hint of disappointment in her eyes. “I will handle this personally. You should all reflect on your actions.”

......

Subsequently, Itosawa, Ichinose, and Shiina became regulars at the library.

They frequented the library, and in addition to reading, they often helped Professor Uchida organize the bookshelves.

Mr. Uchida appreciated their diligence and eagerness to learn, and gradually relaxed his supervision of them, allowing them to read those precious books when he was not around.

A few days later, the student council conveyed through Mr. Hoshinomiya that they needed to go to the student council office.

"It's probably just a student council interview. You just need to prove that your abilities will be useful to the student council. It's been like this for the past few years."

When Ichinose asked about the reason, Hoshinomiya-sensei answered easily.

So, when they arrived at the student council office, they were all relaxed.

While they were on the stairs, they saw a tall, burly man standing in the doorway.

As they drew closer, Ito Sawa realized it was Katsuragi from Class A. He saw Ito Sawa and Ichinose, and nodded slightly as a greeting.

Ito Sawa politely responded to Katsuragi's nod, but inwardly wondered if Katsuragi was also there for an interview.

Ichinose began to appear somewhat nervous. She gently straightened her clothes to make sure everything looked neat and tidy.

Katsuragi stood opposite them, his gaze sweeping over Ito Sawa and Ichinose. His voice was calm and serious: "Are you here for the student council interview too?"

Ito Sawa nodded, his voice firm: "Yes, we're here for an interview."

Katsuragi remained serious: "Then we're competitors. I hope we can both be selected."

Ichinose responded with a smile, "We will do our best, and we hope that Katsuragi-kun can show his strength."

Soon, the door to the student council office opened, and Horikita Manabu's voice came out: "Ito, Ichinose, Katsuragi, the three of you come in together, the interviews are starting."

The three exchanged a glance, then walked into the office together, preparing for the final interview.
