Chapter 43 Hashimoto's Persistence

Itosawa and Ichinose left the office and headed to the cafeteria with mixed feelings. They ate a simple meal and then returned to their respective dormitories.

After a night's rest, they walked together to the classroom the next morning to begin a new day of lessons.

However, when they arrived at the classroom, they were surprised to find that Masayoshi Hashimoto was once again standing at Asako Amakura's desk.

Hashimoto did not seem discouraged by yesterday's failure; he continued to try to get closer to the warehouse.

Asako Amakura's gaze was as sharp as a blade; she had already seen through Masayoshi Hashimoto's true intentions.

Her body leaned back slightly, and her hands unconsciously crossed in front of her chest, forming an invisible barrier.

Then, too lazy to beat around the bush with him, she stated his intentions directly: "Hashimoto-kun, I know what your real purpose is. You're trying to find out about Hoshinomiya-sensei's abilities through me, but I won't let you succeed."

However, Hashimoto Masayoshi showed no embarrassment. His expression remained relaxed, even with a hint of nonchalant smile, as if Ayakura Asako's words were nothing more than a harmless breeze.

He lowered his head slightly, then raised it again, his eyes flashing with an unfathomable light, and said softly, "Wangcang, you've misunderstood. My attention to you is entirely out of appreciation and concern for you personally."

His voice was gentle, with an irresistible charm. He raised his hand slightly, as if to touch Wang Cang's shoulder, but stopped in mid-air, instead adjusting his collar, his movements natural and graceful.

He continued, "Your wisdom and independence fascinate me. I believe there is much more we can learn and understand each other."

Hashimoto's words were full of praise and flattery, as he tried to ease the tension while also testing Netware's reaction.

Amakura Asako was not swayed by Hashimoto's sweet words; her eyes revealed a firmness and unyielding spirit.

She took a small step back, avoiding Hashimoto's approach: "Hashimoto-kun, I respect your personal feelings, but I hope you understand that there is nothing between us except our classmate relationship."

Her words left no room for maneuver; her attitude was clear and resolute.

Ito Sawa and Ichinose sat down in their seats and began their conversation as if no one else was around. Although they spoke in hushed tones, Hashimoto could hear them clearly.

Itō Sawa spoke first, his voice tinged with a hint of mockery yet maintaining a relaxed tone: "He's really persistent. Hashimoto hasn't given up despite all this. I must say, he's truly an indomitable person."

Ichinose nodded slightly, her eyes revealing a hint of appreciation, but also a hint of helplessness: "Yes, he completely disregards other people's feelings, he doesn't act like he's pursuing anyone at all."

Her words carried a subtle criticism, but it wasn't malicious; rather, it was more like pointing out the inappropriateness of Hashimoto's behavior.

Ito Sawa smiled slightly, his gaze turning back to Hashimoto, his tone tinged with amusement: "However, his persistence is truly admirable. If it were me, I probably would have given up long ago."

Ichinose chuckled softly, her voice gentle yet enough to make Hashimoto feel her attention: "Indeed, if he used this spirit on the right things, he might have achieved something. But as it is now, it only puts people in a difficult position."

They seemed to be having a discussion, but every sentence they uttered was a reminder to Netkura and a jab at Hashimoto.

Hashimoto Masayoshi seemed oblivious to the onlookers' gazes, continuing to try and win over Amakura Asako with his charming words.

"Wangcang, you have to believe me, my feelings for you are genuine. No matter how much you doubt me, I will continue to pursue you. I believe that one day you will give me that chance."

However, Asako's gaze remained firm; she knew that behind these sweet words lay Hashimoto's true purpose.

She smiled slightly and replied politely but with a respectful distance, "Thank you for your kind words, Hashimoto-san, but I think we should still focus on our studies."

Everyone knows that this means rejection. For people with superpowers, studying is not a burden at all. I've even heard that the students in Class D ran out of the classroom right in front of the teacher.

Thinking of this, Ito Sawa felt a little regretful. It was a pity that the points weren't deducted according to the code of conduct like in the original story. Otherwise, Class D wouldn't even have a chance to be promoted afterward. He didn't believe that the personality flaws of the people in Class D would still be obedient after being amplified by their superpowers.

Hashimoto left anyway, and Itosawa and Ichinose, whose attention had returned to the class, immediately noticed the cheerful atmosphere in the classroom, which surprised them somewhat.

Their eyes swept across the classroom, trying to pinpoint the source of this atmosphere.

Shibata noticed their surprise, glanced at their desks, and quickly realized what was going on.

He walked excitedly to their desks and began fiddling with them. Under the curious gazes of Itosawa and Ichinose, they noticed the change in the desks: many screens had appeared on them.

"Look, there are some on your tables too," Shibata said, pointing to their table with a hint of smugness in his voice.

Itosawa and Ichinose leaned closer and, sure enough, discovered three screens on the desk. One displayed the class schedule, another the school bulletin board, and the third screen was currently black, its purpose unknown.

"When was this installed?" Ito Sawa asked, somewhat surprised.

Shibata chuckled, a hint of smugness in his gesture: "When you left yesterday afternoon, someone was bored and used their supernatural abilities to tinker with the table, triggering its protective features. They then examined it closely and discovered these things."

Ichinose asked curiously, "Then why is everyone so excited?"

Shibata's smile widened: "Look at the schedule, we have PE class this afternoon, and it's swimming. With my superpower now, I'm sure I can swim even better."

Itosawa and Ichinose exchanged a glance and smiled. They could imagine how excited their classmates were for the upcoming swimming lesson, especially with their special abilities boosting their performance; everyone hoped to shine in the pool.

"What's that black screen for?" Ichinose asked, pointing to the unactivated screen.

Shibata shook his head: "I don't know either, but I think it must have some special use. We'll find out later."

Ito Sawa nodded, a hint of anticipation in his eyes: "Looks like we need to prepare properly; the afternoon swimming lesson might be quite interesting."

Ichinose also smiled expectantly: "Yes, I'm looking forward to it too. I wonder how effective our special abilities will be in swimming class."
