Chapter 3 Kanzaki’s Test
Although it was a bit hard to understand, Ito Sawa decided not to stand there and struggle with it, but instead went to Class B's classroom first.
This way, we can not only observe her movements as she returns to the classroom immediately, but also see if there is anything strange about the other students.
Ito Sawa walked into Class B's classroom, his eyes quickly scanning the layout before finding the seat with his name tag on it.
He sat down quietly, looked around, and realized he was the first one to enter. The classroom was now empty.
He glanced at the nameplates around him. Ichinose and Kanzaki's seats were all around his own, so it seemed much easier for him to integrate into Class B's decision-making circle.
As he observed, the classroom seats were gradually filled by new students.
Everyone wore different expressions; some were excited, some were nervous, and some were full of confidence.
As usual, Ito Sawa subconsciously began to collect and analyze their situation, trying to glean some useful information from their behavior and expressions.
Soon after, a boy sat down in the seat to his right.
Ito Sawa noticed that the boy was tall and slender, but the lines of his arms and neck revealed that he exercised regularly.
His eyes were sharp, but his expression was unusually calm, giving the impression that he was skilled in fighting but also had a cool and aloof personality. Ito Sawa silently labeled him in his mind.
It's quite similar to Kanzaki's personality in the original work.
Or rather, it's clear that I shot the arrow first and then drew the target.
Just as Ito Sawa was engrossed in his analysis, the boy suddenly turned around and asked directly, "Are you analyzing me?"
Ito Sawa was taken aback; he hadn't expected his observation to be noticed by the other party.
But he quickly regained his composure and felt there was nothing to hide, so he nodded in admission.
Ito Sawa felt the boy's gaze sharpen, as if an invisible pressure was pressing down on him.
His heart began to race involuntarily, and an instinctive sense of alertness rose within him.
Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his head, as if an invisible shockwave had pierced through his mind.
Then, as if his meridians had been opened, his vision suddenly became exceptionally clear, and he could "see" the culprit causing his headache—the male classmate's mental power.
The boy's voice rang out again, carrying an almost irresistible command: "Forget about my analysis."
Under the influence of this force, Ito Sawa felt his consciousness begin to blur, as if a gentle yet powerful current was trying to pull his thoughts into a whirlpool, making his memories unclear.
But at that moment, a force of resistance suddenly surged from the depths of Ito Sawa's heart, like a sturdy dam, blocking the invasion of this current.
A strange scene appeared before Ito Sawa's eyes; he seemed to be standing in front of a giant chessboard, on which chess pieces were scattered like stars.
His mind was working at an unprecedented speed. Almost instinctively, he transformed the invading mental energy into a gray chess piece in a way that he himself could not understand, and placed it on the chessboard.
He felt his consciousness become clear again, and the ambiguity and the feeling of being forced to forget disappeared. He even felt that his mental strength had been strengthened as a result.
Ito Sawa blinked, feeling somewhat confused. He didn't understand how he had done it, but he felt that in that instant, his body and mind seemed to have made the most correct response.
He blinked, bewildered, not knowing what was going on.
The boy on the other end looked surprised. He quickly composed himself and cautiously introduced himself: "My name is Kanzaki Ryuji. May I ask who you are?"
Hearing the name Ito Sawa made him feel more at ease; it seemed the character design from the original work was indeed quite similar.
But what was that mental attack just now?
Kanzaki frowned even more after hearing this, because he had never heard of the Ito family before.
So how did he acquire such powerful mental abilities? Moreover, it's unheard of for any mental ability to be transformed after entering the mental sea.
Normally, such aggressive superpowers would be used to defend against external enemies.
A family he had never heard of before, a strange superpower—these things piqued his interest in Ito Sawa.
“Ito Sawa? I’ll remember that.” Kanzaki’s tone carried a hint of reassessment. “In this class, we’ll soon know each other’s worth. I look forward to your performance, Ito Sawa.”
After saying that, he turned his head away and said no more.
The atmosphere suddenly froze, and the two of them awkwardly didn't know what to say.
Fortunately, at that moment, Ichinose and Shiranami walked in hand in hand, and the friendly aura emanating from her immediately dispelled the stagnant atmosphere.
Ichinose sat down next to Itosawa, while Shiranami sat next to Kanzaki.
With both of the original Class B's core members revolving around him, it will be easier for him to guide them in the future.
Kanzaki's gaze lingered on Ichinose for a moment, as he planned to use his mental power again to investigate this seemingly gentle girl.
His spiritual power, like a thin thread, silently extended towards Ichinose.
However, something shocking happened: the mental energy he projected changed the moment it touched Ichinose.
That power was no longer sharp and intrusive; instead, it became as gentle as Ichinose's spiritual power, eventually merging into her affinity and becoming a part of her.
All of this happened silently, and Ichinose was completely unaware of it. She was simply smiling and talking to Chihiro Shiranami, and introducing herself to her new deskmate, Ito Sawa.
Only Kanzaki's expression grew even more shocked. He had never encountered anything like this before; his spiritual power had been so easily assimilated and absorbed.
Is it a psychic ability? Or a charisma ability?
Kanzaki felt an unprecedented surge of emotion. He realized that the quality of this year's students at the Higher Education Institute far exceeded his expectations, and there were even several individuals he couldn't understand.
At that moment, he finally understood why his father, who was influential in both the political and business worlds, would give up the White House, where Ayanokoji Atsuomi was located, which had a closer relationship with their family, and instead choose to send him to this school.
"It seems I need to reassess everyone in this class," Kanzaki thought to himself, his eyes sharpening, but also becoming more cautious.
He knew that he might no longer be the only strong student in this class. He had to be more careful to establish himself in this new and unknown environment.
