Chapter 29 Transaction (Part )
Facing Mr. Sakagami, Ito Sawa's gaze was firm, showing no sign of backing down. He knew that this negotiation would be a battle of wits and intellect.
"Sakagami-sensei, we can help the people in Class C." Ito Sawa's voice was calm, yet carried an undeniable confidence.
Sakagami-sensei sneered, his eyes revealing obvious doubt: "Do you even have that ability?"
Ito Sawa smiled slightly: "If we have the ability to get Yasuda-sensei to agree to go easy on us, then we naturally have the ability to get him to agree to go easy on us as well."
It sounds complicated, but everyone knows what the two "releasing water" means.
"Okay, then I..."
Mr. Sakagami was about to agree, but Ito Sawa reached out and stopped him.
His expression was a half-smile: "Sakagami-sensei, you wouldn't be thinking of taking advantage of us like this, would you?"
Sakagami frowned slightly, his expression revealing a hint of displeasure: "What do you mean? This isn't the deal you mentioned. Now you're trying to push your luck. Do you even want to pass the test?"
Ito Sawa sneered, a sharp glint in his eyes: "The assessment of Class C shows that teachers don't have much decision-making power; it depends more on the students' individual abilities. That makes the assessment of Class B seem strange."
He paused, then continued, "However, if we look at it from another angle, if the school's assessment is for the purpose of assessing teachers, then it suddenly makes sense."
Sakagami-sensei's expression changed slightly, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. He clearly hadn't expected Ito Sawa to see through the essence of the assessment so quickly.
Seeing Sakagami-sensei's reaction, Ito Sawa knew he hadn't guessed wrong, so he continued, "Sakagami-sensei, we can help you get good results in the exam, but you also have to give us some substantial help."
Mr. Sakagami was silent for a moment, a hint of weighing in his eyes.
He knew he really needed his students' help to improve his exam scores.
"Alright, Ito Sawa, you win," Sakagami-sensei finally said, his voice tinged with a hint of helplessness. "Now, tell me, what do you need me to do?"
A victorious smile appeared on Ito Sawa's face; he knew they had gained the upper hand in this negotiation.
Therefore, only after Sakagami-sensei gave in did their negotiations truly enter a substantive phase.
So Ito Sawa began to state his conditions: "The first condition is that we must ensure we finish the assessment earlier than Class C." His gaze was sharp as he looked directly into Sakagami-sensei's eyes, observing his reaction.
Sakagami-sensei's expression darkened slightly, which made Ito Sawa even more certain of his guess—Sakagami-sensei had been using shadows to maintain contact with the students of Class C.
He knew about the bet between himself and Long Yuanxiang all along, and might even have been there at the time. He might even have gotten Long Yuanxiang to agree to the bet.
He sneered inwardly. He had thought he had cleverly manipulated Ryuen Sho, but in reality, Sakagami-sensei had already planned everything.
Ignoring Mr. Sakagami's unpleasant expression, Itosawa continued with his second condition: "Next, I hope you can tell us the nature of the assessment our students will face. Other teachers may be unwilling or unable to tell us, but it shouldn't be difficult for you."
He looked meaningfully at the large pile of shadows on the ground. As long as Mr. Sakagami used shadows to negotiate with others, the school should not know. Otherwise, with Mr. Sakagami's method of leaking information, he would have been dealt with by the school long ago.
Sakagami-sensei's face darkened, but he quickly agreed. Ito Sawa then spoke, "The third condition..."
Sakagami-sensei's face darkened completely: "Don't push your luck." His voice carried a hint of threat, "At worst, we'll both die, and you won't get away with it either."
Ito Sawa's expression remained calm as he said, "Just the last condition."
Sakagami-sensei finally managed to regain her composure and asked coldly, "What are the conditions?"
Ito Sawa replied, "Just tell us the assessment content for the four classes, and I believe you can do it."
With a dark expression, Ms. Sakagami said coldly, "You already know about Class B and Class C, so I won't go into details. The assessment for Class A is to figure out the superpowers of the four homeroom teachers. The students in Class D are either too weak or too dangerous, so they don't have the right to assess the teachers. Their assessment is simply to figure out their own superpowers."
Ito Sawa sneered, his words laced with sarcasm: "The school really doesn't trust Sakagami-sensei, huh? They included you in all three assessments. It seems the school knows what Sakagami-sensei is doing."
Sakagami-sensei's face darkened further. "If it weren't for that arrogant idiot Ryuen Sho completely ignoring my warnings, I wouldn't be in such a sorry state now."
Ito Sawa chuckled: "It seems that the class's performance also has some influence on the homeroom teacher."
He hadn't expected to be tricked into revealing information, and his face darkened even more: "If you've said enough nonsense, you can get lost. As for the assessment, I'll be there as soon as they arrive at the swimming pool."
Ito Sawa knew that the negotiation had achieved his goal.
He stood up and nodded: "Then it's settled, Mr. Sakagami. We'll wait for you at the swimming pool."
Ito Sawa and the students of Class B quickly arrived at the swimming pool to meet with Mr. Yasuda. As they expected, Mr. Sakagami also appeared from the shadows on time, which surprised Mr. Yasuda. He had been considering whether he should help the students of Class B, but now it seemed they no longer needed his help.
Under Sakagami's watchful eye, Yasuda quickly drained the pool. His movements were swift and efficient, clearly demonstrating a high level of skill in controlling the water flow. Afterward, Yasuda left without a word, but before departing, he gave Sakagami a meaningful look. A hint of doubt flickered in Yasuda's eyes, while Ito Sawa understood: Sakagami had no intention of leaving any evidence against him.
Taking advantage of the situation, Itosawa pulled Yasuda-sensei aside and quietly asked him to go easy on the students in Class C. He subtly pointed to the shadows on the ground, implying that this was Sakagami-sensei's request. Itosawa didn't intend to leave Sakagami-sensei completely out of the picture; he needed to ensure that Sakagami-sensei was also involved.
Mr. Yasuda immediately understood Itosawa's meaning and readily agreed. After all, the students in Class B had just helped him solve a difficult problem, so giving them some assistance was only natural. He nodded to Itosawa, indicating that he would do as he was asked.
After saying goodbye to the students in Class B, Ito Sawa returned to his dormitory. Staring at his shadow in the room, he took a deep breath and called out, "Come out."
