Chapter 22 Takahashi-sensei's Supernatural Ability

Now, let's turn back the clock to the afternoon.

Students from Class B gradually emerged from the office, their faces showing either relief or exhaustion.

Ito Sawa and Kanzaki walked side by side at the back of the crowd, discussing something in hushed tones.

Ito Sawa, who had been holding back his curiosity, finally couldn't contain himself any longer. He turned to Kanzaki and asked, "Kanzaki, do you think Professor Takahashi's ability is either a spiritual ability based on words or a supernatural ability?"

Kanzaki walked steadily, his brows slightly furrowed, as if he were pondering the question.

After a moment's thought, he quickly came to the conclusion: "I think Professor Takahashi must be a spiritualist."

Ito Sawa's curiosity was further piqued, and he pressed on, "Why are you so sure? Don't both of them possess the power of language?"

Kanzaki stopped and turned to face Itosawa, explaining in detail: "Although both possess the power of language, their natures are completely different."

The power of the Spiritual Word system lies in the power inherent in words themselves, while the power of the Divine Communication system borrows the power of gods, making words become law.

"To demonstrate their blessings, the gods would certainly make a grand spectacle, unlike the unremarkable performances Takahashi-sensei has shown before."

Ito Sawa nodded, seemingly satisfied with Kanzaki's explanation, but his curiosity was not entirely satisfied: "So, do you think Takahashi-sensei is specifically using words of magic or true words?"

Kanzaki shook his head, a wry smile playing on his lips: "That's hard to say. Although both Word of Power and True Word belong to the category of Spiritual Words, their powers and forms of expression are different."

Word magic directly induces effects through speech, while true words manipulate or influence external objects through speech. Without more information, it's difficult to make an accurate judgment.

However, Ichinose quickly squeezed out of the crowd, walked briskly to Itosawa and Kanzaki, and joined their discussion.

“I think Takahashi-sensei must be a Word Spirit type,” Ichinose said, her gaze shifting between the two of them, seemingly seeking agreement. “Her bathroom is decorated in a Western style. If it were Word Spirit, there would probably be more religious decorations. After all, although the power of Word Spirit doesn’t come directly from the gods, it is still influenced by religious understanding.”

Itosawa and Kanzaki both nodded, acknowledging Ichinose's observation.

Kanzaki added, "Indeed, the power of mantras is closely linked to religious beliefs and rituals, and as you said, Professor Takahashi's lifestyle doesn't seem to lean towards any particular religion."

Ichinose then raised her own question, her brows furrowing slightly, her eyes filled with a longing for the unknown: "However, I'm very curious about what kind of Word of Power Takahashi-sensei possesses."

I remember the manual saying that the power of a Word of Power needs to be cultivated by the holder to be unleashed, but I don't think I've ever seen Takahashi-sensei's Word of Power before.

Kanzaki smiled and explained, "The forms and powers of Word Power are diverse; they can take any form and do not necessarily have to be visible."

Sometimes, a word of power might be a symbol, a spell, or even a melody. It doesn't necessarily have to be as cute as the example illustrations in a manual.

Word magic is the bridge between a word magic user and the power of words; its form and strength depend entirely on the word magic user. Teacher Takahashi may have cultivated her word magic to a level imperceptible to us.

Upon hearing this, Ichinose's eyes shone even brighter. Her curiosity about Word Power and her respect for Professor Takahashi combined to create a deep longing for the world of supernatural abilities.
