Chapter 10 The Luxurious Dining Hall

The moment Ito Sawa stepped into the cafeteria, it felt as if he had entered a luxurious palace.

The entire area was paved with energy stones, which was fine, since the dormitory was also entirely paved with energy stones.

But what shocked him the most was that, within this cafeteria alone, there were at least a hundred magic arrays that he could see with his own abilities.

The entire area around the cafeteria was densely covered with nested magic arrays. To conceal the traces of the arrays, he was specially instructed to conform to the patterns of the energy stone bricks. If it weren't for his unique ability, he probably wouldn't have been able to detect them at all.

He now roughly guessed that his ability to see through the essence of these energies was most likely due to his special ability.

However, I didn't detect any energy fluctuations when I was at the school gate. Is this school really that confident?

Setting aside his exploration of the school for the moment, Ito Sawa turned his attention back to the various parts of the cafeteria.

Each dining table is inlaid with a magic circle, which shimmers slightly under the light of the energy stone, as if it were alive.

Moreover, the closer the table is to the serving window, the better the effect of the magic circle seems to be. The air around these tables seems to be filled with more energy particles, allowing people to feel the nourishment of energy while eating.

However, as his gaze swept across the cafeteria, he discovered that the best seats had already been taken by upperclassmen.

They sat there, some talking, some enjoying their food, and everyone seemed confident and at ease.

Ito Sawa realized that these upperclassmen were clearly familiar with everything about the school, including how to use the magic circle in the cafeteria to enhance their supernatural abilities.

He found a table a little away from the serving window and sat down, secretly resolving that next time he would definitely come earlier and try to sit at one of the best tables.

At the same time, he was also thinking about whether there was any way to improve the effect of the magic array in his room, or whether he could learn how to set up and use these magic arrays.

After Ito Sawa sat down, he realized he hadn't ordered yet. But he was reluctant to give up his seat.

After all, more and more people are coming to the cafeteria. Even if some people don't discover the secret of the seats, they will still find it hard to accept if their seats are taken by accident.

Fortunately, he quickly found a solution.

Right on the edge of the table, there was not only a menu, but also an antique-looking bell. This bell looked unusual; it had no clasp and its surface was covered with intricate runes, as if it concealed some kind of magic.

Ito Sawa then selected a deluxe set meal and tentatively tapped the call bell, his movements gentle and cautious.

However, the call bell did not make any sound, as if it were just a decoration.

But the moment he touched the bell, he felt a subtle energy fluctuation, like ripples spreading from the center of the bell.

His eyes were fixed on the order bell, waiting for some kind of change.

Suddenly, something seemed to be distorting in the air, and a shadowy figure slowly emerged beside him.

The shadowy waiter wore a black uniform, its face indistinct, as if composed of shadows. It appeared silently, without a sound, with only ripples of energy as a sign of its arrival.

The appearance of the shadowy waiter surprised Ito Sawa; his eyebrows rose slightly, and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.

He looked at the shadowy waiter, who stretched out an almost transparent hand, gently picked up the menu, and then disappeared into the air like a wisp of smoke.

Not long after, the Shadow Waiter reappeared, this time carrying not only a menu but also a fragrant deluxe set meal.

The shadowy waiter gently placed the set meal on his table with elegant and silent movements, then disappeared again as if he had never been there.

Ito Sawa curiously sampled the deluxe set meal and immediately felt that it was very energizing. The meat and vegetables in the set meal did not seem to be ordinary ingredients; the energy they emitted made him feel invigorated, but he did not immediately discover the specific reason.

Suddenly, a sound came from beside my ear.

“It seems you’re quite satisfied with this set meal,” Kanzaki said, his sharp gaze seemingly able to read Ito Sawa’s thoughts.

Ito Sawa looked up and saw Kanzaki sitting next to him. He was a little surprised, as he remembered not seeing him just now, but he quickly regained his composure.

"Indeed, this meal set is very nutritious, but I still don't understand why these foods are different from the regular ones."

Kanzaki nodded, seemingly satisfied with Itosawa's observation: "These ingredients are cultivated in a special environment, absorbing the essence of the energy stones, and therefore contain abundant energy." He explained, seemingly not minding sharing this information.

Ito Sawa was curious about Kanzaki's explanation and pressed him for details: "Special circumstances? How did you know that?"

Kanzaki smiled slightly, a hint of cunning in his eyes: "I know more about this school's secrets than you think." He paused, then continued, "However, I'm equally interested in your secrets. For example, why can you let my mental power detect things that have vanished without a trace?"

It was no coincidence that Kanzaki was sitting next to him; from the very beginning, he had been using his spiritual power to shroud himself and conceal his presence.

As he expected, Ito Sawa couldn't detect that Ito Sawa's mental defenses hadn't spread outside his body at all, but were only within his mental sea. This was almost impossible.

Therefore, he really wanted to know why, not only out of curiosity about the superpower, but also because only by knowing the reason could he better hide himself.

Ito Sawa was silent for a moment, then slowly spoke: "My ability may be somewhat different from your mental abilities; it is more inclined towards defense and self-protection." He didn't reveal too many details, but he gave Kanzaki a reasonable explanation.

Kanzaki stared at him for a moment, then nodded, seemingly satisfied with the answer.

He stood up, preparing to leave: "Very well, Ito Sawa, I hope we can become friends. After all, getting to know each other's abilities in this school is beneficial for both of us."

Ito Sawa found it strange that he had come and gone so suddenly.
