Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master

Chapter 99 Ancient Bronze Silver Ant Wax

Seeing an outsider, a porter he used to look down on, a liar who lied to him about Berry, and learning such inside information about the family made him and all the Soul Masters behind him feel very uncomfortable. Unsettled.

“Great,” William rubbed his hands together. “Let’s go then. I’ll talk while we run.”

"Running?" Berry looked at him questioningly, but William simply nodded, indicating for her to lead the way. "Okay, follow me, don't get lost."

She started running, and William turned his attention to Lang.

"Tell me how bad the situation is."

"Hmm, it seems things aren't as bad as they seem," Lang said, and William could only sigh inwardly. Of course, if others came to help, the Level 3 demon tide wouldn't be so dangerous, and the preparations were already sufficient.

But he knew this wasn't the reality they faced. If he could, he would not hesitate to reassign this rank to level one.

"The monsters that came were all level three, and their scale was indeed very large. However, the elders have already sent out teams to ask the academy and other families for help."

“If they respond,” William muttered to himself, his face expressionless. He simply gestured for Lang to continue. After all, there were things he needed to know that this guy hadn’t told him yet.

"As for the estimated time," Lang suddenly had an idea, thinking of what William wanted to hear most, and deliberately left it for last, "the scarlet monster will arrive here in four hours, a difference of two hours."

“That’s not bad either…” William nodded, muttering these words, which led Lang and the others to misunderstand his true intentions.

He wasn't referring to the difficulty of the approaching monsters, but rather the time it would take them to complete their preparations.

"Can you explain what you're planning to do now?" Lang took this opportunity to ask what he really wanted to know.

“We’re here,” Berry suddenly shouted before William could say anything. “We’re up there.”

William looked up and saw a vast open space in front of him, without even a wall. It was filled with large ovens and pots, with large piles of timber on one side and a small group of buildings on the other.

The place was deserted; clearly, the clan leader and elders had already gathered everyone in preparation for battle.

The war must have been planned long ago, otherwise this family would not deserve its current title and reputation.

“Alright, listen now,” William began issuing orders even before they arrived, “We need to collect all the blue frost ore, all the bronze silver ant wax we can find, and all the arrows. And the spears you can obtain.”

"Arrow? Spear?" Lang asked, puzzled.

“But… Blue Frost Ore isn’t mainly used for forging or anything like that; it’s just used to quench cooling water and increase the speed of the frost effect!” Berry was even more puzzled by William’s words.

She learned from her grandfather that William had excelled in the forging department at the academy. However, judging from the two items William requested, there were no suitable forging materials available!

“And wax… bronze silver ant wax is just used to fuse the forgings together, making them look stronger and adhere firmly to each other,” Klein said, indicating his knowledge of the subject.

“Do as I say.” William knew that the method he was using might be considered unorthodox, but it was their only hope if his terrible prediction came true.

Even if he was completely wrong, the family wouldn't lose valuable materials. That's why he remained so calm.

"Anything else?" Berry rolled her eyes, expressing her doubts more helplessly than ever before. She should stand up for William, not publicly confront him.

“That’s enough,” William paused. “Go and fetch a small group of three people each. Everyone must have a storage ring to store the arrows and spears we need.”

"Um...you think storage rings are that cheap?!"

"Do you think we can get something so valuable from the family at a time like this?"

William looked calmly at Klein, who was making the final comment, and replied slowly and confidently:

“Arrows and spears are indeed valuable. But I don’t believe the tribe doesn’t have any spares right now. If not, then we’ll have to forge them ourselves. And the one who’s going to do that is you, not me.”

“You…” Klein’s expression changed at the provocation. In Williams’ eyes, he had already brought a lifetime of kindness and help to this family. Therefore, he had no intention of being humble or conservative in his words and actions.

“I got my ring, Lang got one, and Klein got a third,” Berry ignored Klein’s complaints, then stopped in front of the many furnaces and cauldrons and added, “Hurry up, give the three fastest runners three rings each. Then get the extra arrows and spears from the clan storehouse.”

She emphasized the last sentence while glaring at Klein. She knew, like her people, that their warehouses contained a large quantity of such weapons.

“Any grade is fine,” Berry said, waving her arms as if they had no other reason to complain.

Even if she didn't get what William wanted, she was certain he would amaze and shock everyone, including her.

This wasn't her first encounter with him. Back in the forest, when he casually mentioned healing her, she took it as a joke.

But she now knows he wasn't joking, even though his words and attitude suggest otherwise.

“Then the three of you go and collect all the necessary weapons,” Bailey said, taking off her ring as no one moved. “Bring over any unused arrows and spears, and anything else the tribe doesn’t have. We don’t need them now.”
