Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master

Chapter 86 Soul Master Showdown

Even Berry didn't get a chance to see his performance.

'Who is he?' This was the second question that came to his mind. 'Is he a friend or an enemy?' This was the third question that arose in his confused mind.

Berry's father wasn't slow at picking things up. He realized he had done it because of his carelessness when he noticed the slight furrow in William's little face.

'Damn! Why does this kid seem so difficult to deal with? He's extremely suspicious of this clue I missed. Absolutely not! This isn't how a child should act!'

He gained an insight here. Even if he had said something wrong in front of his own prodigy, the likelihood of them reacting this way in such a short time was quite high.

But from William's changing expression, his strange silence, and the wariness he exuded, he knew that the latter was quite skeptical of what he had said.

Callum learned of this from his father, the old patriarch, who emphasized that William should not be told anything about it.

However, due to a single unintentional mistake, William suspected that someone was spying on him.

But William will never know that the person who did this was none other than the terrifying old monster of the Dragon family, Berry's grandfather, Kong.

"So how was the outcome decided?" William quickly recovered from his shock and asked in such a mature tone.

“He’s certainly not a simple child.” Berry’s father didn’t know how a child like him had grown to such a mature level. But this earned William some points in his favor.

“I will spar with you three times, and I will hit you every time. I will not hurt you, but you will also get hit. This is the bottom line for my disrespectful behavior towards you.”

"What about my victory? Hitting you first? Would that be the best of the three rounds?"

"What's the best? Hahahaha! You can't be dreaming! To beat me, you only need to hit me once, just once, and I'll admit defeat." Berry's father didn't take William's words seriously.

He considered William's words a naive attempt to save face after anticipated failure.

"What if I could hit you twice?" William continued down this path, even his uncle, who was standing beside him, looked up at him, both amused and exasperated.

"Has he gone mad?" Grandma thought to herself. "Oh dear! He still wants to provoke such a fierce and bloodthirsty Dark Gold Soul Master? This child is incredibly brave!"

"Hmph! If you're so capable, I'll let you come and keep my daughter company." The father snorted, "Let's see if you're capable."

“I will be the judge,” the uncle said, worried about William’s life, since Carom’s last words and burning gaze had come from him. “If anyone goes too far, I will intervene.” He was speaking to his brother, trying his best to give him some sanity.

Who is William? He's a Bronze Soul Master. For him to fight a Dark Gold Soul Master like Carol is practically suicidal. That's what this uncle thinks. Putting a Bronze Soul Master against a Dark Gold Soul Master, and expecting the former to win? That's truly insane!

Even if the fighting addict's brother didn't use his soul power, Grandma knew that William couldn't possibly escape unscathed from his attacks.

“Get ready,” Berry’s uncle took a small, round shield from his storage ring, just in case Callum went too far with William. If Grant couldn’t intervene in time, he could toss the shield to William, giving the latter a chance to live. “You can start from three… two… one… now!”

“I won’t strike first, lest rumors spread that I’m bullying a young man. Come on, you go first.” Berry’s father tried to appear friendly and generous, though his tone and fierce expression proved otherwise.

“Don’t blame me,” William said, but he didn’t deny the advantage. In any battle, the one who strikes first gains a greater advantage than the opponent.

As William spoke, he suddenly jumped back, creating distance between himself and Carol, then touched his ring and took something out of it.

"Spirit rings? Is he from a wealthy family or something?!" Uncle Berry was also taken aback when he saw this.

He hadn't expected William to have something like this. However, the result was a huge disappointment. "Just a few arrows? Not even a bow? Tsk, you've seriously underestimated my brother."

However, Berry's uncle underestimated William. The moment he drew the arrow, William knew he had secured the first strike.

Just as the arrows were thrown around like a pile of sticks, Berry's father's thoughts were not much different from Glen's. What can arrows do without a bow? So he lowered his guard and began to walk forward, dodging the arrows with swift leg movements as they fell around him.

However, when the first arrow struck the ground, the powerful impact was accompanied by an explosion, enough to kick up a large amount of dust.

Boom!

Then came a series of explosions. The young Soul Masters here couldn't see them, but Uncle Berry's experienced eyes could tell that these arrows weren't just thrown there randomly.

They were placed in an arrangement that would completely trap Berry's father. And that's not all.

William even calculated the timing of the first arrow's explosion—the one in front of Berry's father. Therefore, the second one was one of the two sent from behind him, and the last four to explode were from the side.
