Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master
Chapter 8, Third Spirit
“Let’s not talk about the reward,” William stopped her from continuing. “Now let’s talk about how to solve your problem.”
She watched him hold the crystal closer to his eyes, as if he were examining something inside with great interest.
She knew he wouldn't agree if she continued to insist on the reward. But that didn't mean she would obey him. In her eyes, the person who had helped her held the highest place in her heart and in her life.
So she watched him do quietly, without expressing any of her thoughts. She vowed that if he could truly help her, she would do everything in her power to do so.
A man like William, born into a weak and poor family, needed every bit of help he could get. She looked at his face, at his frail body, and couldn't help but sigh inwardly.
She never imagined that someone like William would solve her problem. She even doubted whether her father would believe her if she went back to him and told him about William.
William was unaware of all this. He was completely absorbed in observing the red and gold dots inside the crystal.
As far as he knew, the Phoenix Spirit was always pink. Its aura might have a touch of red, but it wasn't quite golden.
He recognized the Phoenix Spirit here because of its distinctive markings. He wouldn't tell Berry that, but to him, he didn't see dots, but rather a general pattern formed by dots within the crystal.
Alongside the phoenix pattern, there is also the dragon spirit pattern. But what exactly are these golden dots?
The golden light contained no patterns whatsoever, which only confused him further. After observing it carefully for the next five minutes, he finally understood what was happening.
"Damn it!" he couldn't help but curse loudly when he came to such a crazy conclusion.
"What? What is this? Is it bad? Is it that bad? Am I going to die?!" As an ordinary girl her age, she was very impatient to draw conclusions.
She mistakenly thought his reaction meant he had discovered something bad. It was indeed a big deal, but not a terrible thing.
William glanced at her, unsure what to say. For a fleeting moment, he felt a pang of envy. A girl her age not only possessed twin martial souls but also had such an extremely rare and precious opportunity. It was something to be envied.
“This is a good thing,” he finally recovered from his shock, “You…you’re really lucky.”
“Me?” She pointed at herself, puzzled. “What did you discover? Come on, I’ve always known I’m a genius, hahaha!”
In a rare moment, she revealed a side of her personality she had never shown anyone before. Carefree. William looked at her, unsure whether to smile or laugh.
"Your two martial souls aren't just fighting for dominance; for some reason, they're merging together." He pointed to the crystal in his hand and said, "Come, do you see those faint red dots on the crystal? In the middle of the golden tornado?"
The golden dots surrounded the red dots, forming a shape he decided to call a tornado for the time being. As for the red dots, upon closer inspection, he discovered they did not originate from the same source.
After all, he had finally found the Phoenix Spirit in this chaotic place. He had previously thought those red dots were just dragon souls, but he was wrong.
Half of it is deep red, while the other half is slightly lighter. This detail is easily missed if one doesn't observe and examine it closely.
But who is Berry? She's a girl! Girls have the talent to recognize colors, unlike boys.
“Yes, there are definitely two different shades of red there,” she said, glancing at it closely before looking up. “Are these my two martial souls?”
"Yes," William nodded, a renewed sense of envy for her ability to recognize the two so easily.
"And... what about these golden specks?"
“They are the result of a merger, a completely new spirit,” William said with pure envy.
"A third spirit?!" But her surprise stemmed from something else entirely, contrary to his expectations. "I have three spirits within me? Wow!"
William didn't know how his master would react if she were here. "There are three martial souls now, but there will only be one in the future." William paused, trying to simplify things for her, "Just think of it as a martial soul mutation... Yes, that's how it is."
"Oh, so I have to wait until the two are finally combined?" She was smart; she realized this herself.
“We can’t do it,” William said, shaking his head helplessly, contrary to her expectations. “If we let them continue fighting and merging, they will not only harm your body, but also your spiritual veins and meridians.”
"Soul... what?" she couldn't help but ask as he slipped away, casually recounting his vast knowledge.
"Never mind that for now," he quickly corrected his slip of the tongue, "Right now we need to handle this process well and try to control it better. Once we make the two martial souls more compatible, you'll see..." Breakthrough.
“Compatibility…” Bailey frowned, lost in thought. “But aren’t dragons and phoenixes incompatible? How can we make these two opposing spirits compatible?”
William wasn't surprised by her idea. After all, the world's understanding of martial spirits and soul masters was still very rudimentary.
