Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master

Chapter 42 The Principal's Order

Based on his extensive combat experience, William knew that diverting his attention from the enemy was a grave sin. No matter who came shouting, his gaze would not leave the enemy ahead, especially in such a tense situation.

However, when the voice appeared, William clearly saw a sudden change in the expressions of Guan Ning's relative and his gang of thugs. They looked terrified, as if the person who had come here was someone they shouldn't have offended.

"Elder..." Even Tang Laosan, who was standing next to him, trembled slightly upon hearing this call. Hearing this word, William finally shifted his attention away.

What do elders mean in the academy? They are definitely the most powerful group of elders in the academy besides the dean.

Dark gold—just a few steps away from becoming a legendary Soul Master. This is the only requirement to become an academy elder. Age is not important, but no one can obtain such a respected title without aging.

"What nonsense is this?" A bald old man with a face covered in wrinkles appeared before William. But from his red eyes, William felt a strange sense of familiarity. But he didn't think too much about it.

William was more concerned about how the situation would change after such an elder appeared.

Both groups bowed simultaneously, with a mixture of respect and fear, except for William and his two daughters. Tina was terrified by it all, while Lina was ready to fight at any moment.

As for William, he was already prepared to abandon his life at the academy to protect his daughters. Therefore, before knowing which side this powerful expert belonged to, he did not show any respect to the elder.

“Answer the elder,” Tang spoke first, his voice calm and steady, “we were ordered by the headmaster to arrest the porter William, but those guards wanted to kill the two girls with him.” (For no reason.)

“This isn’t true,” Guan Ning’s relative said hastily in a trembling voice. “We heard that the porter William brought spies from the Golden Heaven Academy here. We should have killed them on the spot.”

William immediately noticed the subtle change in the filthy disciple's choice of words. From this simple detail, William knew that his elders were on his side, or at least they wouldn't make things difficult for him and his two daughters.

"This isn't true, Elder," Tang San retorted, but the elder raised his hand to stop the two of them.

“Now take Potter William and the two girls to see the headmaster,” the elder said to Tang, then turned to Guan Ning’s relatives and the others. “As for you… hand you over to the Enforcement Elder and await my punishment.”

These words further solidified William's belief in the elder's stance. Looking at the enemy's pale face, William knew their fate was sealed.

"Elder..." Guan Ning's relatives cried out in panic, but the elder's next words silenced him.

“I will kill you on the spot and bear the consequences if you say the word, just as your family has the courage to demand an explanation or even seek justice.”

The elder's icy tone, coupled with the intense killing intent emanating from him, terrified the Guan Ning clan. In their eyes, seeing the Enforcement Elder was far better than facing him here.

"William, the porter, please follow me." Tang San didn't look at William, but bowed to the elder and then left.

William didn't forget to bow in thanks and also paid his respects to the elders. If the elders hadn't arrived in time, a major battle would likely have broken out here. And such a battle would have had extremely serious consequences.

What puzzled William was the smile on the elder's face when he said that. A satisfied smile appeared on his face, as if the elder was quite pleased with his actions. For some reason, the elder reminded William of someone: Berry.

"You can put your weapons away now." Tang San's voice came from ahead as they walked deeper into the academy. "No one here dares to touch you. You have good friends in the forging department and have hired many people to ensure your safety, but I was the first to arrive to help you."

William immediately understood part of what had happened. "Thank you for your help and rescue, Senior Brother Tang, but I still don't know what I did wrong," he said, trying to learn more about his crime.

"You'll soon learn everything from the headmaster and the elders." Tang Tang seemed to have no intention of explaining further. "If you're seeking my advice, then you should be prepared to protect yourself and the two girls from Golden Sky Academy you've brought with you."

William felt he was under strict orders not to reveal anything directly to him. But that didn't stop Don from leaving clues for him here.

"Thank you for your guidance, senior brother." He said sincerely, but Old Master Tang did not say anything more.

William was now certain of the crime he had confessed to. Something must have happened that he had missed these past few days. Someone must have discovered him and relayed the news back to the college.

But he was just a porter, someone nobody cared about. "Is it because I'm not performing well in the forging department?" he wondered to himself, trying to figure out the mystery behind this strange situation.

He couldn't find any other reason to draw attention to himself. Even the little lie he told Lang about Berry wouldn't have garnered him such serious attention. Whoever did it must have a deep grudge against him.

Little did he know that he underestimated this small lie and the Long family's fierce reaction.
